“Liv,” my voice was soft and it lacked any of the anger with which she spoke to me. I had to be mindful of my actions here — one wrong move and I could lose my job here, lose the only connection I had left with Jeremy.

“Don't you dare! Stay away from me, okay?” she warned me. I put up my hands in the air in surrender so she would know that I meant her no harm.

Olivia’s POV

I had been so angry when I had seen Damien. I had not meant to lose my cool like that but it had just happened. I couldn't seem to hold back all of my anger knowing that he had been building a relationship with my son all these years.

I stomped away in anger. I was not going to allow Jeremy to return to this place, I wasn't going to give Damien the chance to see his face again. After everything that he had done to me, there was just no way that I could stand him being near my son.

Jeremy would just have to continue his education at home.

Olivia's POV I woke up to the sound of owls hooting and insects thrilling, the air in my room was colder than usual that I sneezed the second my eyes flew open. A strong gust of wind rushed into my room then as I wondered why my room was so cold. I stood up, grudgingly from my bed to close the window in my room. It baffled me that it was open given that I had closed it the night before. My eyebrows knitted in confusion as I saw it wide open. Had I woken up earlier to shut the window myself? I closed the window before doing a quick sweep of my room. It did not look like anyone had been here as I could see nothing to indicate that someone had entered my room. Besides, my room was locked from the inside and that meant no one could have entered my room without my knowledge or without breaking the latch on the door. I walked over to the window that had been opened, checking to see if it was possible someone could open it from outside. My room was a floor above the ground floor and so I

Chapter 77 Olivia's POV Even in the dimly lit room, I saw his face go pale at my words. His eyes became unfocused as they looked everywhere but at me. He was clearly guilty and no matter how much I tried to ignore the truth it was right there in front of me. “There is nothing going on between me and Prinsca,” he said, eventually. I did not buy it but I was in no mood to argue with him. I was upset enough and wanted more than anything to conclude this sorry affair called dinner. We were quiet for a while and with nothing else to say, I began to eat my food. I could not deny it, even though I was upset my taste buds were not. “About Jeremy, is there a reason you stopped him from going to the war college? I actually believe it's doing him some good,” he said in a small voice after several minutes had passed. I thought about the question for a while but I decided it was best not to bring up Damien in this conversation. It was best if Simeon did not know about Damien. “He'll resume

“I have no idea,” he said, shrugging his shoulders like he was clueless. “Don't worry, I'll take care of it,” I said, patting his back and giving him my brightest smile. “I thought you didn't like me going to that school,” he said. He was right, I had not been onboard with the idea at first but as time grew and I got to watch the man Jeremy was turning out to be, I was grateful for the training that he underwent there. “I did not, but look at you,” I said, punching at his muscles playfully. Even his body had begun to change. “Why don't you go and wait for me in the stable?” I wanted him to stay away from my room while I figured out a way to send Prinsca out of my room. ****Later that night, I tried to make peace with Olivia. I ordered the servants to make her favourite food and prepared a romantic dinner for her. I saw the surprise on her face when she entered the dining hall. She looked at me, suspicion written all over her face. “What is this about?” she asked me, she did not

When I entered my room, I slammed the door behind me and looked around my room. I checked my room for where I had kept the needle hidden. I smiled to see that it was still there. Untouched. Damien's POV I could tell she was angry, furious even. The fire in her eyes that had once burned with love for me was filled with anger but I was relieved that it was not full of hate. It had been a long time, years even, perhaps she had forgiven me? I fantasized that she had and some day in the near future I would wake up to see her beside me, her golden hair splayed stop my bed and her sensuous body warm… She hit me. She slapped my dreamy thoughts on me. “How dare you? I have one simple instruction. I told you what I wanted from you as plain as day, stay the hell away from my son! Why was that so hard to do for you? huh!” Olivia screamed at me at the top of her voice. She had waited until the children were gone and the class was empty. She had not even brought Jeremy to school today, that s

“In that case, you are welcome to check,” I said, opening the door for them to come in. I thought I saw a flicker of surprise in Prinsca’s eyes at the invitation to come inside but I could have imagined it as it did not last very long. I watched as brother and sister eagerly entered my room while Simeon stayed back and observed with bored eyes. Simeon did not seem too happy about the search; rather, he looked like he had been rendered powerless against the siblings in my room. The two did not just search my room, they trashed it. They brought out every single cloth I owned in the place and went through every one of them. They searched in my fireplace but found nothing, went through my drawer and my wardrobe. Thirty minutes later, they had ransacked my room and they had come up with nothing. Looking desperate, Prinsca had turned to me and said, “we have to search your body too.” “Excuse me?” I was surprised at the sheer audacity. “We found nothing in your room so it must be on your
