LOGINAurora’s POV
“My Luna, where should we put all your belongings?”
I was brought back to reality when I heard one of my lady-in-waiting whispering to me. I was spacing out while I was seated in my bed while everyone was busy transferring all my things to my parent’s house.
It has all been said and done. A day after my miscarriage, Alexander stayed true to his words and announced our separation to the public. He had made sure that everyone would hear about my foolishness during the ceremony and blame me for not being able to save the heir.
Everyone was aggravated. I could hear almost all of my subjects talking about how irresponsible I was and that, they never even expected me to behave that way.
They won’t even make it discrete. They would talk about me right in my face… and would make their voice louder so I would be moved.
I cannot escape their hatred. To the point where my home doesn’t feel like home anymore.
“All my things should be placed in a separate carriage so I would have a lot of room to move,” I instructed them.
They all nodded but as soon as they turned around, I heard one whisper, “Even as she’s going to be thrown away, she’s still arrogant. Imagine demanding a whole carriage to yourself?”
It was awful. So much that I could not afford to shed a single tear.
Because how can I? That would only give them the idea that I am a weak wolf who would rather cry about my misfortunes than stand stronger and find the time to redeem what has been done.
I stared longer at every corner of the room. I could still remember my first night here… that night that was filled with tears because I could not believe the man I had married refused to share a room with me.
The night that made me question everything.
As I was spacing out, I heard someone knocking softly by my door. “My lady, the chauffeur is already set.”
I smiled faintly as I nodded and stood up from being seated.
I walked by the long corridor and when I walked past Alexander’s room, I felt nothing but pain. He was just there, sitting by his office table, smoking weed. He didn’t even give me a glance, just pure focus on what he was writing.
Maybe that was the best part of it. I will not be held back from leaving and I would not regret walking away from him. I will not take all my hatred to myself and I will spare myself the trouble of having to patch up for a relationship that doesn’t even work.
It is good that he didn’t look at me one last time. Because I know… one look and one word from him would have me running back to his arms.
So I would just endure… I would try my best not to yearn for him. Although… loving him is all I know.
I went inside my carriage and it felt miserable not having someone to see you out. Knowing everyone who has been working in this house might have been joyous that their lady will be leaving.
The useless Luna will be returning to her family and shall find herself a new life to make up for the perfectly ruined one.
And I believe it was for the best, it is still for the best. I could properly grieve for the loss of my child all while stepping away from the media that was destroying me from the inside.
The ride did not take long and I am honestly thankful. That way, I do not have to deal with the dirty look of the chauffeur.
As soon as I set foot in my hometown, my maids immediately tended to me. They took all my things and transferred them to my own room.
They were all still nice because they were the ones I truly grew up with. They were the ones who knew that I was not the kind of person the media were talking about. Out of all the people who could hurt me, they were never part of it.
My headmistress took my cloak and immediately guided me to the receiving area. “Do you want me to read out some tea for you?”
“Yes, please.” I smiled and slumped over the couch. “Where are my parents? My mother?”
“Oh, your mother is upstairs. She had been waiting for your arrival upon hearing that you were to return to this estate. I should excuse myself now.” She answered and immediately went to the kitchen to prepare.
I was so bored just sitting alone that I had to go to wherever my parents were. I went upstairs and as soon as I stepped a foot by the second floor, I heard my parents arguing.
“You have to send her back. She needs to remain the Luna otherwise our clan is in danger.” I heard my mother’s voice.
What? She’s urging me to go back to the man who had been hurting me?
“No. I do not want to send my daughter back to that family. They are just using her! How dare they use her name in vain while she is accepting all the backlash of losing their child? That is unfair!” Father’s voice raised as he tried to defend me.
“She can conceive another for God’s sake! The separation is not yet final, they can work things out. I do not want her to be left with no title, Lucio.” Mom was so worried about me losing all the power I once had that she failed to consider what I was feeling.
“I will send her back whether you like it or not…” She firmly stood on her business with her threatening voice as if she was throwing my father into submission.
“Aurora will go back to Alexander, conceive another heir, and clean her name. End of conversation!” Mother lashed out and opened the door, meeting my eyes.
She was shocked at the sight of me but collected herself.
“I am very sorry that you lost your son, my dear. I really am.” She whispered in the air.
“But you need to return to your husband and give him his son… that is your duty. That is what women should be doing–a Luna should be doing.”
Aurora's POVI held onto the sheets tightly as I bit my upper lip, my body trembling with unspoken emotions. Sweat drenched my nightdress, clinging to my skin, while the only source of light in our room was the cold glow of the moon above our heads. Alexander’s hands were rough as they traced the innermost part of my body, his touch impersonal and detached. His face was shadowed, but I could still see the emptiness in his eyes—the same emptiness I had grown accustomed to. He made no attempt to disguise his indifference, nor did he try to comfort me, as though what was happening between us was nothing more than an obligation to be fulfilled.“Just do your job and conceive my son, and this will all end soon.” His voice was devoid of warmth, his words cutting through me like ice. There was no affection, no tenderness—only a cold reminder of the duty I was forced to uphold. After my mother had returned me to his estate and explained the expectations of our union, Alexander had agreed wi

Aurora’s POVThe distant murmurs and chattering have woken up my sleeping soul. The scent of medicine went into my nostrils and I knew just exactly… where I was laying. My eyes fluttered open and landed on the ceiling above me. The bright light, the white paint, the ambiance… I was brought into the hospital. “Aurora!” Mom rushed towards me without any hesitation. She helped me sit straight and the worry in her face was visibly written. “Are you alright now?” Her hands smoothed down from my shoulders to my hands as she looked at me with so much concern. “You have no idea how worried I was!”My eyes roamed around the room. “Where is Alexander?” I whispered. Even my wolf could not smell him from here. There was a slight hope in my chest that maybe… he was just somewhere or just left to get some air. That is all I could cling to… that uncertainty. “He… isn’t here.” She responded fast enough and offered me a warm smile. “But hey! Your father and I are here for you and Alexander’s fa
Aurora’s POVHow do you keep up with the burden of perfection lying on your shoulders? Can’t I just be myself? Just be the Aurora that I have always wanted to be? A thousand crystal chandeliers glistened above the grand ballroom, each adding a gentle glow that filled the space with a warm, golden light. The air was filled with the delicate hum of stringed instruments, their melody wrapping around the gentle murmur of elegant guests, who moved like swirls of color in their silk gowns and tailored suits. The scent of fresh roses, imported from exotic lands, mingled with the decadent aroma of gourmet dishes served on silver platters by impeccably dressed waitstaff. Every step across the polished marble floor echoed lightly as if even the sound was too refined to interrupt the conversations of the elite.Laughter sparkled in the air while beneath the surface, secret glances and subtle gestures wove stories of desire, envy, and power. “Are you alright?” I was brought back to my reality.
