Chapter 9 - You have morals

“Hey beautiful.” My best friend Noni says walking toward my table. I invited her out for brunch because I owe her a nice day out. I’ve been ignoring her like all my other friends. Spending time with Jay has shown me that I need to do better. I can’t use my mother as an excuse forever.

“Hey, it’s so good to see you.” I say getting up to give her a hug.

“I know, I missed you so much. We haven’t hung out in a long time.” She says when we let go of each other and sit down.

“That’s my fault, that’s why I wanted to make up for disappearing on you.” I say and she smiles excitedly.

“If that’s the case, I’m ordering all the expensive food on the menu.” She says looking at me mischievously.

“You know what? You can order anything you want, but I should warn you I’m calling you when I can’t pay my bills.” I say and we laugh.

A waitress comes to take our orders, she orders all the good food on the menu and the waitress leaves.

“What’s been going on with you?” She asks when the waitress is go
