Aiden's POVGrowing up with parents such as mine has made me the man I am today. I would see the love between Isabella and Sydney Kings as they look into each other's eyes. I would see the trust they have for each other. They were days they would disagree on certain things but it brought them closer. My father was the American Mafia Don but he separated work from family. At work, he'd be a cold and heartless bastard but the sight of his family, he was a teddy bear. I admired that. I longed for that. That was until I met other people, the Russian don in particular, whose newly-wedded wife died during an attack. He was devastated. He cut his ties and made more enemies than friends. He became vulnerable. That thought scared me. I would see my parents' love but then I would see the Russian Don. What if the same fate were to happen to my mother? Would dad love us the same? Would he still be a 'teddy bear' as Calla called him? Would he have led the Mafia as he is right now?"Love made me ru
Alexandra's POVThe elevator goes down as I straighten my black skirt before wiping off the smudged lipstick. I feel Aiden's eyes on me making me raise my eyes reflexively and meet his on the mirror. He has a lipstick stain on his cheek but I don't tell him. I smile at him and one of his dazed eyes winks. Soon, the elevator stops and I get out and Aiden follows and I can see every eye on the both of us. An older lady stops Aiden and hands him a folder then tells him about some work as he listens to each word. What feels like minutes later, the woman points at his jaw where the stain is before walking away as I try to keep a straight face. "You love embarrassing me, don't you?" He breathes out when he's next to me and I look at him innocently."Whatever you mean Kings." I reply but a snicker comes out when he wipes the wrong place. "Here, let me help you." I stop and using my thumb wipe off the red lipstick stain. "There." I say looking into his eyes but he's already doing the same."
"My boyfriend and I have been together for a two years. I love him so much and he loves me too but whenever I talk about moving in with him, he gets mad or changes topics. Most of the times, we get into arguments." Patty, a lady I'm interviewing lets out a sad laugh as she narrates her story and I nod in understanding, urging her to continue."He' goes to these long business trips and to be honest , I think he's lying to me. He keeps on getting these strange calls and he only answers them when he's out..." I make a cringing face as if in pain, showing my sympathy as the audience lets out a series of dramatic gasps and shocked faces as others show knowing faces , courtesy of Troy."I just want to be sure of what I'm getting myself into, you know." Patty says, her voice chocked by a sob threatening to come out."Awww, honey. It's okay." I assure a crying Patty before turning to the audience."Okay guys, you've heard our beautiful Patty's story here. She's been dating for two years, the
Silence prevails for a few minutes after Aiden's confession. I get up and walk to my room and strip off the clothes I had and change into Aiden's shirt that I came with from his place the first time I slept over and a pair of shorts. I have no intention of leaving the house. When I go back to where I left Aiden, I find him standing, ready to leave."You're leaving?" I ask even though it's evident."I have things to do. I got a clue of the man who was following you." He says. I can see the warm Aiden has changed to a cold one. The man I met months ago. The man who made me sign a NDA. But now I know better. It's a facade. 'Or maybe he's just a great actor?.' The voice of doubt manifests itself."Me too. I've been working on it." I confess. " You promised you'd teach me everything about the gun." I accuse, trying to gauge his reactions. Nothing changes. " You just had to send your brother." I let a scoff before adding in a lower voice but loud enough for him to hear. "Such a pussy. Cowar
"My, my, my. The Don is such a selfless man." I let out an amused chuckle despite the sarcastic comment. "Aren't you supposed to be heartless? Scary? And tough even? Because I think that would be appealing to me. That would make me burn for you even more if that's possible.""Don't let this man in front of you have you confused with the Don, Alex." Aiden says. He sits and I see the bloody shirt he still has and so I kneel knowing exactly what I'm doing. He looks at me with a sharp look but I pretend not to notice as I move my hands to the buttons of his shirt and start undoing them."Does this bother you?" I ask innocently but he seems to have already caught on when he answers."This has happened a lot of times enough to bother me. I have to take a shower." When I'm done, I help him get away from the shirt. The white shirt can't be cleaned again. I look at it and the face the man made when he was being tortured. The look he gave me and the sick laughs.I place the bloody shirt on my l
Most people have insecurities in their first weeks or months of dating. 'What if he'll leave me? Will he see another woman better than me? Are my boobs too small or big? Will she want a more financially stable man? Am I man enough for her? Will they find someone better?' I too have a lot of questions and insecurities. Aiden isn't the perfect guy out there but I love the way he treats me. The way he looks at me. The way he reminds me of how strong I am even when I feel the weakest at times. Can I say he's better than Sean or other boyfriends out there?I don't know. What I know, is that he's perfect for me. Hosting the 'Red Flags Show' has helped me see this. Some women claim how their guys are perfect based on different things that to me wouldn't make a man perfect and my beliefs on my perfect man may defer to that of Kelly's. I want a man who'd wake me up with a kiss on the forehead, tell me all about his day and his dreams. But I realized those don't make my man perfect. Even a ps
"It was Romano who sent me. Romano!" The man screams. Aiden stands straight and shoots him in between his eyes."That was easy." He comments as he places the gun on the table beside him and squats in front of the fresh corpse. I can still hear the man's echo everywhere but I try so hard to focus on what Aiden is doing. He seems to be looking for something. He turns the head and examines the bloody neck. I see something that appears to be a tattoo that Aiden looks at intently before standing while cussing."Fucking Romano!" He punches the table behind him and I wince. "Who's Romano?" Aiden looks at me as if just realizing I'm here."An old friend. Now a backstabber. I'll be leaving in a few hours. Make sure you have Paul and the men I'll assign you at all times. You'll be staying here for the time being. I'm afraid you can't meet your family and friends for now until I settle this. As for the club, I'm sure you don't have to go there every day. You can hire someone to take care of eve
Alexandra's POVIt's been seventeen hours since I last saw Aiden. I hosted the show even though anyone could see how my mind was all over the place. That was until the first break when Troy gave me an earful of words I would rather not repeat then followed by comfort. After, he and I went to a cute coffee shop next to the company's building and talked for an hour until I decided to go back home. And by home, I mean Aiden's house. Paul dragged me to Aiden's place as instructed by his don. No threat can break that man, I swear. In his house, his staff has treated me like some royalty since I arrived. It's a little bit overwhelming and so I've been trying to keep myself busy in Aiden's room as I look at my emails and the reports from the club that Bob, the head of staff from the club has sent me. He is really good at his work.My phone vibrates and I immediately pick it up, hoping that it is Aiden but instead I find an email notification. Two emails notificat
