Aiden's POV

Growing up with parents such as mine has made me the man I am today. I would see the love between Isabella and Sydney Kings as they look into each other's eyes. I would see the trust they have for each other. They were days they would disagree on certain things but it brought them closer.

My father was the American Mafia Don but he separated work from family. At work, he'd be a cold and heartless bastard but the sight of his family, he was a teddy bear. I admired that. I longed for that. That was until I met other people, the Russian don in particular, whose newly-wedded wife died during an attack. He was devastated. He cut his ties and made more enemies than friends. He became vulnerable. That thought scared me. I would see my parents' love but then I would see the Russian Don. What if the same fate were to happen to my mother? Would dad love us the same? Would he still be a 'teddy bear' as Calla called him? Would he have led the Mafia as he is right now?

    "What are you doing?" I ask Kelly who looks guiltily at me for a second before laughing."I'm practicing my shocked face when Tim proposes tonight." She says and I laugh. "Yeah. The face that you made when I asked that... That takes the cake." I grin as I look around the room. "Do you think she'll like it?" I hold up a doll that was placed in the cot."For the hundredth time. She's a new born. She won't know what to like and what not to like. But I'm positive she'll love her mummy and daddy. You guys have wanted this for long." I nod as tears start running down my eyes."Alex." Naomi calls from the door and I wipe my tears before turning to her."Yeah!" My voice is croaky. I caught the flu yesterday and had been asleep most of the day. That was until I received a call from the girl's girl we're adopting. She was in labor! That was two hours ago and Aiden went to see her since I couldn't risk being the near the baby with this stupid flu!

    Naomi and I have been sitting outside dad's hospital room as we wait for the doctor to examine for about five minutes in silence. Aiden left ten minutes ago since he has a meeting to attend to."I can't believe they wouldn't tell us." I blurt out as I tap my foot against the floor. Naomi let's out a frustrated sigh."Yeah. I can't believe it either." She breathes out, as she looks down. Aaron walks in carrying two bags. Naomi stands and takes one of the bags and kisses him with a 'thank you'. She takes out three cups a day hand one of them to me."I forgot to tell him you prefer tea but this coffee is one of the best." Naomi offer and I take the cup with a grateful smile."Hey Alex." Aaron greets."Hi. Thanks." I lift the cup and he nods with a smile."Oliver went to see Ryan. Heard he might be discharged in a week or two depending on how everything goes." Aaron informs Naomi, unknowingly filling me with guilt. Aiden has been giv

    The ride to the mafia base took about thirty minutes. Within the thirty minutes that Naomi had told me about dad waking up and me promising to be there tomorrow. I wasn't ready to see my parents but I was ready to release my anger on a certain girl."Did they bring what I asked for?" I ask Aiden as he directs me to a cell that she's in. "Yes." Aiden says and soon, the only sound is our shoes against the dirty floor and his cane. He places his fingerprints on the biometric doors as we gain access until we arrive."I'll get in now. Go do your mafia shit." I mock trying to push him but he doesn't budge. "We're getting in together, princess." Aiden says. I place my thumb on the biometric and the door immediately opens. I get in and immediately see Macy looking at me with a bored expression. Aiden gets in too before shutting the door."A knock next time would be fine." Macy says sarcastically. Soon the door beeps again and a cart is rolled

    Everything is moving fast. I had called Naomi on the way to the hospital who, luckily, has her own business closer to the hospital and so arrived about three minutes after I did. She walked to me and immediately hugged me, seeing how shaken I was before walking into the room my dad was in."...how long have you know about this?" The doctor asks just as we enter and I suddenly sense something big. I turn to my crying mother who spares us no glance as she looks at her unconscious husband."Five months. We were told an operation might risk everything and so he decided to rely on the painkillers." Mother explains. The hold Naomi has on me tightens as I look at mother questionably but as usual, she doesn't look at us. The doctor only lets out an exhale of air before looking at my father and examining him."We'll have to do an MRI so that we can be sure of what we're dealing with here." He explains but before anyone says anything else Naomi speaks up."

    The next morning, I woke up thirsty and hungry. I woke up in Aiden's arms as he slept peacefully. I turned to the clock on the bed side table and noticed it was nine a.m."Morning wifey." Aiden rasped. I turned to him with a smile, aware that I was naked. I remember him cleaning me up and getting me into bed."Morning hubby." I say back with a smile as he sleepily looks at me then moves me closer to him for a kiss but I stop him. "I don't remember brushing my teeth yesterday night before sleeping so you can imagine." "A little bad odour from my wife won't guarantee a divorce. Unless it happens everyday." Aiden jokes as I lightly hit his chest. "You did brush your teeth after a lot of convincing and promises." He laughs and he moves closer to me. "And for a record, I don't care. Now give me some love." I chuckle before kissing him for a second. He then wraps his hand around me and moves me so I can straddle him and deeply kisses me. I could get used to thi

    Alexandra's POV For the past two days, Aiden has been a mother hen and ss much as I love it, it has started getting annoying. He has made the news slightly bearable and has tried comforting and assuring me about things getting into place and to be honest, I needed to hear the words repeatedly. "Why are you out of bed?" Aiden asks as soon as he opens the door to his room. I turn to him and flip him the bird with a roll of my eyes before turning back to the window. He sure has a nice view of the place.
