Forty Two

Alexandra's POV

For the past two days, Aiden has been a mother hen and ss much as I love it, it has started getting annoying. He has made the news slightly bearable and has tried comforting and assuring me about things getting into place and to be honest, I needed to hear the words repeatedly.

"Why are you out of bed?" Aiden asks as soon as he opens the door to his room. I turn to him and flip him the bird with a roll of my eyes before turning back to the window. He sure has a nice view of the place. I can hear his cane tap against the floor as he nears me and soon enough his left arm snakes around my waist bringing me closer to him. He kisses my shoulder before looking out of the window too in silence.

"I want to leave. When can we leave?" I ask, my whine cutting through the peaceful silence. Aiden kisses my shoulder once again before gesturing for me to turn and face him. I do so.
