RED INKEP 20: Subtle anomaly 2•••Aurora stood up abruptly. "Sir, do I wait for you or...?" She asked as he got up. He looked at her, "Do you want to go home?"Aurora knew that most times, Doctor Hither answered a question with a question—a trait that made her slightly annoyed. It was psychological and it often worked. "I have..." She trailed off. After thinking about it for some seconds, she shook her head and smiled. "I will wait." Doctor Hither nodded. "Good then." He turned to Josiah, "Let's go." As they exited, Aurora sat back down in her chair and looked around the office again, she would be bored if she stayed here. She stood up, picked up her backpack and also exited the office, closing the door behind her. She began strolling in the hospital, looking around, especially the view from where she stood. She saw the backs of Hither and Josiah as they walked away. They were far from her. They disappeared at a corner, the one that led to the elevator. She took her time su
RED INKEp 21: One Ego in mind•• ~~Linda's Point of View~~ "Have you prepared the presentation?" She asked Greg who was standing opposite her. He came forward and handed her the flash drive in his hand. She collected it and looked at it, it was a tiny flash drive, it barely reached one-third of her finger. "I will go through it one last time. Have you been able to contact Mr Dillion?" "His assistant has been picking the calls." "So, not once has he communicated with you, himself?" He shook his head. "No." Linda scoffed. "What does he feel like? " She murmured to herself. "If not that this is important, I wouldn't have bothered." She looked at Gregory, "So, is it certain he will be attending the meeting?" "Yes, young madame. His assistant confirmed he will be there." "Then we better see for ourselves. Wednesday morning, 8:00AM is the fixed time. We will be there thirty minutes early. After all, we are the ones going after him." "Madame, don't you think going thirty minute
RED INKEP 22: One ego in mind 2•• He checked the packages one more time, using his eyes to count the boxes. When he was done making assurance, he retreated from the vehicle. "Close the door." He ordered the two men standing on opposite sides of his presence. They walked to delivery truck's trunk, both pulling down the heavy metal door and sealing it with a big padlock. They were both dressed in blue delivery uniforms for one of those delivery companies. The goods were to be delivered to different places in Dretch. Diggy handed them the file they had forged containing fake names of people with real locations. While some of the names were real, serving as a means of diversion if police stopped them on the way, the other names were camouflages and hidden. One of the guys collected the paperback book from him, hailing him with his cap and with that, they got into the passenger's seat and driver's seat respectively. As the truck entered the side road, driving away, Diggy brought o
RED INKEP 23: Succumb not to seduction•• "I don't know how to find him." She said to Fiona. "You said you researched him online." "Yes. But his information are limited. It's as if it was blocked out of the internet. There is little to no information on his family." "I understand that some people are very private people. Luckily, you both will run into each other again, someday." She drew her to the table, drew out the chair and sat her down. "Eat. Your food will get cold." "When you leave the room." She patted her shoulder. "I told you I wouldn't leave anytime soon." "You said until I tell you what made me sulk. I have." "When did I say that?" "Nana!" "Alright. Alright. I will leave. Finish everything on the plates. If you need more, just go to the kitchen." "Fine." Fiona walked to the door. "Where is the jug of juice you took away this morning?" "The maids took them out while cleaning. Should be in the kitchen." "Okay." Fiona walked out of her room and closed the do
RED INKEP 24: A place to start••~~Peter's Point Of View~~ When he was told by his uncle that she had stood him up, he laughed over the phone at him. "Must be the one I am looking for, don't you think uncle?" His uncle hissed on the receiver's end. "I have never met anyone so rude to elders!" He hissed again. "Anyway, when are you coming to see me? You are acting like you are busy these days." Peter relaxed in his chair, crossing his legs on the table and scratched his head. "I don't act like I am busy. I AM busy." "Find time out to come see me." "I don't know uncle, I don't think it will be anytime soon." "Yah!" His uncle yelled. "Yoi don't have time to come see me but you have time to go on a blind date with a woman?!" "Well..." "You are full of excuses these days! If you don't come to see me, I will come to see you. Infact, don't worry. You may see me in your house next week. Jerk!" Peter laughed. "I know.""Anyway, her father told her to go to the opera ho
RED INKEP 25: A Place to Start•• The hard pitter patter of the rain on the concrete flooring was considered a stop to activities for the day. Nobody would want to enter such a weather to get to where they were going, except that place was home. Peter with his violin bag strapped at his back and his hands in his pockets looked up at the sky like a child who was excited to receive a candy for a job well done. It was always that time of the year, let the season do its job. Linda stood beside him. "It has started raining...again."Peter smiled. "Let it shine. It is its season afterall, and it comes with a lot of cold."She was mesmerized by his endearing personality to act without pretence as he pleased on a first date. And though that was a characteristic she admired, the wide smile on his face and the excitement on it captivated her more. When he turned to look at her, the light in his eyes—it sparkled like crystals in a blocked cave. "What do you say, Linda Springdam?" He asked.
RED INKEP 26: Who dares to start a fomentation?••The big padlock was a solid steel which looked new compared to the chain rounded at the handle of the iron gates. He struggled with the lock as the key appeared bent. He managed to manoeuvre the keylock, removing the chain and closing it back. "Fucking hell! Fucking hell!" He cursed. Behind him came two big guys, taller than him with two inches. They were cladded in a black leather jacket, black beanies and black boots. In their hands, they were each holding an AR-15 with leather gloves on their hands. They each had a headlamp around their heads. They both looked around in confusion, raising their guns up to survey the premises. "Boss?" The one with a balbo beard, nicknamed Deathrow, asked with confusion on his face. He feared that he was followed. "What's up?" "Lock the gates!" Diggy furiously dropped the chain, leaving it on the ground for them to pick up, walking away towards the PEN. The rain was falling heavily and Diggy was
RED INKEP 27: You know I am no Angel, nor Devil•• Linda despite having had a wonderful evening was exhausted, and she didn't know why. To make it even worse, she had a very busy schedule the next day.She sat in her bath tub thinking about the work she would be doing tomorrow, it was going to be another hectic day. She had meetings with her group and other organizers, she wouldn't have time for herself. At this moment, she just wished she had someone assisting her with her work. She sighed. Around the edges of her tub were small fragrant candles that smelled of strawberry and cherry. The water was foamy to her skin. She looked at the foams and raised her leg up, admiring the bubbles. Some times, she found herself deviating in thoughts, thinking about her earlier date this evening. He was famous for opera and yet she never knee about it. She wasn't surprised because she definitely hated opera. But, thinking back to that night at the opera house, watching him perform was not that bo
