Chapter 51 - Tomas

We came here with fifty supernaturals—wolves, witches, fae, goblins, dwarves, and shifters. But there’s no way we can handle all the deities and their minions in front of us.

“Retreat!” I yell.

“Not so fast,” Lucifer purrs. With a flick of his hand, the gates slam shut and the portal vanishes. “The party has barely begun.”

Then the smug bastard drops into a throne like it’s open mic night and props his feet on a table. “Begin.”

Demons leap from the shadows—falling from the ceiling, crawling from walls, even sneaking up behind us. A massive gargoyle-like creature blocks our path, but instead of stone skin, his hide is made of bone. On one side of him is a lion-headed woman in Egyptian garb. On the other, a woman with antlers and a body split down the middle—half rotting skeleton, half cold-eyed human.

Others close in from behind, but I’m locked on the horrors in front.

“I am Chernobog,” the bone giant growls.

“I am Sekhmet,” the lioness hisses.

“I am Hel,” the half-skeletal woman says,
