Caleb stretched.
Or at least tried to.
He winced as the dull ache sharpened through his body as he moved. His right hand and wrist were encased in a cast and his shoulder was braced as well as possible to stop him from tearing open the bullet wound.
The rest of his body ached as though he had been hit by a car, although the force of him hitting the ground wasn’t too far off being the same.
He had to admit he was grateful for the Ecliprises- sponsored hospital treatment. Private ward and a room shared just with him and the other two injured guards. On top of that, he had a bed that was actually comfortable and a regular food that was decent.
He also had a constant stream of visitors to keep him occupied, his mother with different siblings accompanying her each time and all the security team members had dropped in to say hello and keep them all company.
He was surprised when a nurse came in and set up the unmade fourth bed afte
“Hello, Nettie.” “Is that how you greet an old friend, hmm?” she sat down on the chair beside her basket. “Honestly, you haven’t been over to visit for a drink and a chat in ages. I was giving you time to settle down with your little twin flamehaving all your attention but I swear, if he wasn’t your twin flame, he would be your midlife crisis.” “I’m not that old,” Kalvinhuffed out and Aianlooked torn between finding it funny and embarrassing. “If I didn’t know any better, I would dispute that. But it’s not about age, it’s about life experience. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. Hell, I would be behind this relationship all the way, twin flamestatus or not,if it means youget toactually relax and we get to see that you’re a human with feelings. Honestly, I could do with a cute little midlife crisis myself.” She gave a selfdepreciating laugh. “I swear I may as well be married to my restaurant! But you n
Having been in the hospital for a full seven days, Aianwas itching to leave. Kalvinhad wheeled him outside a few times so he could bask in the fresh air and sunshine but honestly,Aianwanted to go home. It didn’t help that Chadhad been released into Otto’s care yesterday morning, leaving only the three of them in the ward together. Aianwas rightthat sharing the room was so much better than being by himself, though. They had a constant stream of visitors from the security team, both to visit them and to guard the room. He had also met some of Caleb’s and Shawn’s family members, all of whom were surprised to find out who Aianwas. Now he was caught up on all the movies and shows he wanted to watch and had even learneda few new card games as well. But he wassoready to go home. Kalvinsat on a chair beside his bed, reading through a few work documents that Blake
Aianwas ecstatic to be back at the penthouse. Kalvinwould still be around a lot, choosing to spend more time working from home for a few weeks and his security team would be around more to help out physically as well. He was still stuck being wheelchaired around for the next few weeks but at least he wasn’t stuck in a hospital bed. Kalvinwas wheeling him past one of the the spare room when he noticed something familiar through the door from the corner of his eye. “Wait. Hold up, what’s in that room now?” Kalvinstopped in place but didn’t respond. Aiancraned his head around to stare up at his twin flameonly to be met with a blank face. Highly suspicious. “Kal, what’s in that room?” Still no answer. “Wheel me back.” The man seemed to weigh up his options before reluctantly pulling him back so they were beside the door after he asked a second time. Aian
Kalvin’s eyebrows shot up to his hairline and Aian felt his face burn in embarrassment almost at once. “Or not. I mean, if you don’t want to.” “Oh no, since you offered such an intriguing solution, I would love to take you up on the offer,” the older man’s face settled into a very familiar smirk. “But who’s the pervert now, hmm, angel?” Aiangroaned and covered his face with his good arm. His face was still getting redderthat he could feel the burning heat intensifying. “It’s your fault. You made me like this.” Kalvinlaughed at that. “Oh no, I merely brought out your inner desires. But I don’t see why you are getting so embarrassed over this. This is no worse than anything else we have done and YOU were the one to suggest it. I’m not about to laugh at you for your fantasies. I honestly doubt there is anything you would suggest that I wouldn’t do. We are quite matched in that regard.” Aianremoved his arm and stared at Kal
Legend has it that there is an invisible red thread that connects people to those they are destined to meet.It symbolizes friendship, love, protection; no matter how far apart, they will meet. And fate will be realized. In this world, there are two types of person that you will meet at the of your red string; platonic twin flame- that one person that’s supposed to be your best friend, and a romantic twin flame- the one that’s supposed to make you whole, your other half. The one that will make you complete; the other half of your soul. It’s also said that once you meet the person at the other end of your red string, your wrist will light up in the beat of your heartbeat.Aian wondered what it would be like to find his twin flame.Would it be a platonic one, an ultimate best friend like his best friends had found in each other?Would it be a romantic twin flame like his parents? A partner for him in all ways possible?Or would he stay like most of the world- left wondering, waiting and
“Is everything okay?” Aian questioned. The two youths both swung around to sneer at him. He could smell the cheap cigarettes from where he stood and both were dressed in baggy, ripped clothing.“Nah, grandma over here was going to give us some money to go play in the arcade. Right, grandma?”The lady didn’t respond verbally but shook her head in denial.Aian could see her hands trembling and while she looked to be fairly well off- most who shopped here were- it certainly didn’t excuse their behaviour.Anger rose up within him at these two thugs threatening an elderly lady. What kind of jerk did that?He stepped forward, hands curling into fists.“Leave her alone, she doesn’t owe you anything.”The crowd moved out to give them more space as though people were worried that they could be drawn in to a fight. It pissed Aian off further that not a single person even so much as looked their way, everyone keeping their eyes averted like if they couldn’t see what was happening, then it couldn
Aian wasn’t quite sure how he got here.It was all a blur of thoughts running in circles while he tried to wrap his head around the whole ‘I found my twin flame’ thing. He had given a statement to the police officers and now he sat in some fancy restaurant with a menu open in front of him getting a late lunch with his twin flame, holy shit.He had been told to order whatever he would like off the menu but every time he looked at the prices, he felt a little faint. One meal for two here would pay for his rent for a week!Between his dithering over the prices and his brain flittering off to freak out over recent events, he hadn’t even begun to decide what he wanted to order when a waiter showed up asking if they were ready.Aian floundered, but the menu was removed from his hands by the man sitting across from him.Kalvin proceeded to smoothly order a list of things he barely registered. Amused gray eyes turned back to him and a smirk appeared.“You seemed to be having trouble, so I got
The trip to the flash camera store had started out fine with Aian dragging Kalvin around the store exclaiming over all the things and pointing out all the useful accessories he would like one day.Cameras and photography were his passion and he couldn’t help but fawn over the latest models on the market. He also hoped that by pointing out and explaining everything there was to see, he would distract the other man. What he hadn’t realized was that Kalvin had snagged an employee to note down what things he was pointing out to.He had been gazing at the latest models of cameras on display when Kalvin called him over to the register.Aian’s jaw dropped at all the things spread out over the counter being scanned and packaged. Turning to Kalvin in alarm, he opened his mouth to question what was going on when the man’s phone rang. His twin flame passed over the same credit card he had used earlier in the restaurant and excused himself to step outside to take the call.Panicked, Aian took the
