“Come with me, Cassandra. Now.”

Adrian yanked Cassandra’s hand roughly, pulling her toward his sleek black sports car. His face was rigid, his jaw clenched, eyes blazing with restrained fury. Cassandra feigned unease, but deep inside, a secret smile was ready to bloom.

“Adrian… where are we going?” she asked with a trembling voice, pretending not to know.

“To Rosemary’s boutique,” Adrian replied coldly, starting the engine. “I want to hear directly from her why she dared accuse you of such things.”

Cassandra lowered her gaze, hiding the glint of satisfaction in her eyes. Perfect. The sooner Adrian lashed out at Rosemary, the farther he would drift from her.

---

At Rosemary’s small boutique, the morning hum buzzed steadily. Seamstresses sat at their tables, the soft clatter of sewing machines filling the air. Rosemary stood in the center, carefully examining the pattern of a custom gown for an important client.

Suddenly, the door burst open.

BANG!

Every head turned. Adrian stormed insi

The night stretched long and silent.Only the rain spoke — tapping softly against the windows, whispering the world’s last confessions.Rosemary sat beside the fireplace, her hands trembling around a mug of untouched tea. The photograph — that cursed photograph — lay on the table between her and Adrian. The ink beneath it had smeared, the red letters bleeding like wounds:“I told you I was watching.”Adrian stood by the window, one hand pressed against the glass. He had barely spoken in hours. His eyes were fixed on the dark horizon, searching for movement that wasn’t there.“Adrian,” Rosemary said softly. “What if this never ends?”He turned to her. His face was pale, but his voice steady. “It ends tonight.”She shook her head. “You can’t mean—”“Yes.” He crossed the room, kneeling in front of her. His hand found hers, firm and warm despite the cold. “Casandra has haunted us long enough. You deserve peace, Rosemary. You deserve your life back.”Tears welled in her eyes. “And what abo

The rain had stopped by morning, leaving the world washed but uneasy.Inside the hospital, the faint scent of disinfectant clung to the air, mixed with the soft rhythm of Adrian’s heart monitor. He was sitting up now, pale but recovering. Rosemary stood by the window, staring at the gray skyline that stretched beyond St. Clarisse Hospital. For days, neither of them had spoken about Casandra. The silence between them was not peace — it was fear, disguised as calm.“Do you really think she’s alive?” Rosemary asked finally, her voice low.Adrian looked up from his bed. “I don’t know,” he said. “But if she is… she’ll come back for something.”“For you,” Rosemary murmured bitterly.Adrian’s eyes softened. “No. Not for me. For revenge.”He paused, then reached for her hand. “But I won’t let her hurt you again.”Rosemary gave a faint, broken laugh. “You said that before. And yet she still found her way between us.”Adrian didn’t answer — because she was right.---Later that afternoon, Rosem

The smell of smoke lingered long after the fire trucks had come and gone. The old warehouse was nothing but blackened steel and ashes, its twisted frame groaning under the weight of the morning rain.Rosemary sat on the curb, wrapped in a gray blanket. Her hair was damp, her hands trembling. She kept staring at the ambulance doors — at the man lying inside with an oxygen mask over his face.Adrian.His pulse was steady, but weak. His body bruised, his arm bandaged, his voice silent.“Ma’am, please rest,” a paramedic said gently, handing her a cup of water. But Rosemary only shook her head. “I’m fine,” she whispered. “Just… let me stay here.”Markus approached, his arm in a sling, face covered in soot. “They’re taking him to St. Clarisse Hospital. I’ll follow the ambulance.”“I’m coming,” Rosemary said, rising to her feet.“You should rest,” Markus warned. “You inhaled too much smoke—”“I said I’m coming,” she snapped, her voice breaking at the edges. Then, softer: “I can’t leave him a

Rain drummed against the glass window of Adrian’s car as he drove through the empty streets of the city. The wipers swayed rhythmically, clearing the streaks of water, but nothing could clear the storm raging inside his chest.Casandra had vanished. And with every hour that passed, she was one step further beyond his reach. He gripped the steering wheel tightly, his jaw clenched. “She’s playing a game again,” he muttered. “She always does.”Beside him sat Markus, his long-time friend and private investigator, eyes fixed on the map on his tablet.“She’s smarter than before,” Markus said quietly. “No credit trail, no phone pings, no social media. But… we traced a security feed from the old warehouse district. Someone matching her build entered a property registered under a false name—two days ago.”Adrian’s eyes narrowed. “Then that’s where we start.”---Meanwhile, across town, Rosemary sat alone in what remained of her temporary office — a small space lent by a friend in the fashion i

The news spread like wildfire.By morning, every major network was running the same headline:“Casandra Beaumont Under Criminal Investigation for Fraud and Manipulation.”Images from the gala flooded social media — Rosemary standing tall on stage, Casandra’s face contorted in shock, Adrian beside her like a silent guardian. For the public, it was justice. For Rosemary, it was only the beginning of a new kind of fear.---The next day, Adrian found her on the balcony again, staring out over the city. The sunrise painted her face gold, but her eyes were shadowed.“You haven’t slept,” he said softly.Rosemary didn’t turn. “Neither have you.”He smiled faintly. “Fair. But you look… distant. What’s on your mind?”She took a deep breath, gripping the railing. “It’s too quiet, Adrian. Casandra doesn’t go down without a fight. You know that.”He sighed, stepping closer. “I do. But this time, she has no leverage. The police have her passport, the investors are pulling out, her name is blacklis

The rain hadn’t stopped. It drummed endlessly against the windows of Rosemary’s apartment, a haunting echo of everything still unresolved between them.Adrian stood by the door, dripping wet, his breath still ragged from running up the stairs. Rosemary handed him a towel silently, her eyes never leaving his face.“Are you sure it was her?” she asked at last, her voice trembling.“I saw the footage myself,” Adrian said, drying his hair quickly. “She was outside your door less than an hour ago.”Rosemary’s heart pounded. “But… why? She’s already ruined everything. What more could she want?”Adrian met her gaze. “Control. Power. Revenge. Casandra doesn’t stop until she destroys everything that threatens her image. That means you—and me.”Rosemary looked away, gripping her arms as a shiver ran through her. “I can’t live like this, Adrian. I can’t keep running from her shadow.”He stepped closer. “You won’t have to. I’m done letting her dictate our lives.”Her breath caught at his tone. Th
