lThe living room of Arga’s apartment was buzzing with activity that morning. Stacks of files covered the low table—recording transcripts, copies of confidential documents, and handwritten notes Arga had scribbled throughout the night. Vania sat cross-legged on the carpet, laptop open, typing out a schedule of meetings with several independent journalists they had managed to contact.

Though her face showed focus, unease lingered in her heart. This was a monumental step—standing against Devandra publicly, handing over the evidence, and revealing who he truly was. Once they spoke out, there would be no turning back.

A soft knock came at the door.

Vania frowned. Arga had stepped out to retrieve additional documents from an old colleague’s office. They hadn’t arranged for anyone to come by this morning. With slight hesitation, she rose and walked to the door.

When it swung open, the sight before her made her freeze.

A tall woman stood there, her long hair cascading neatly over her shoulder

A light rain fell, soaking the streets that night. The city felt subdued, streetlights casting pale yellow reflections across the wet asphalt. Arga held Vania’s hand tightly, though doubt still lingered on her face.“Arga… where are we going?” Vania asked softly. He only glanced at her, his eyes serious. “There’s something you need to see. I don’t want there to be any more secrets between us.”The car stopped in front of an old, half-abandoned building. Its paint was peeling, wooden boards across the windows rotten with age. Vania frowned in confusion as they stepped out.“What is this place?”Arga drew a long breath, locking his gaze on hers. “This… is where I fell once. The lowest point of my life, after Liora left me.”---They stepped inside. The air was damp and musty. In the corner, a broken table and a splintered chair remained. Vania shivered—not from the cold, but from the weight of memories clinging to the place.Arga moved slowly through the dim room, his fingertips brushin

In a glass-walled room overlooking the glittering city, Devandra stood at the head of a long table. His fingers tapped lightly against the mahogany surface, a cold rhythm that made the men around him hold their breath. In front of him, a few subordinates lowered their heads, holding the latest reports. One of them dared to speak.“Boss, the rumors about Liora have started spreading among journalists. They’re curious about her connection to Arga.”Devandra’s lips curved into a thin smile. His eyes narrowed, like a snake catching the scent of prey. “Good. Keep pushing that gossip. Make it seem as if Liora is still Arga’s true love.”“Should we pay the major media outlets?” another asked, hesitant.Devandra lifted his crystal glass and took a slow sip. “No need. Just throw the bait. The media will devour it on their own. They’re starving for sensation.”Raga, standing a little farther back, finally spoke up. “But Dev, a rumor like this could be easily denied by Arga. Isn’t that too risky

Vania sat at her desk with a somber expression, fingers wrapped around a cup of coffee gone cold. Her eyes were not fixed on the laptop screen in front of her, but lost in the storm of thoughts circling in her mind. She knew she couldn’t keep this secret any longer. The more she held it in, the heavier it became. And every time she looked at Arga, guilt weighed down her heart.Arga stepped out of the bedroom, dressed in a simple black shirt. His hair was slightly tousled, but his sharp gaze still burned with energy. “You’ve been up long?” he asked as he made his way toward the kitchen.“Since dawn,” Vania replied curtly.Arga turned, his eyes narrowing at her pale face. “You still look exhausted. Did you sleep well last night?”Vania lowered her gaze, her heart thundering in her chest. This was the moment.“Arga…” Her voice was soft, almost swallowed by the silence.Arga stopped, then sat across from her. “What is it? You’ve seemed restless since yesterday. Tell me. Don’t keep it to y

Since her encounter with Liora that morning, Vania’s heart had been in turmoil. The woman’s words clung to her like thorns she couldn’t pull out.“Are you truly capable of standing by Arga’s side in a war this big?”She tried to push the thought away, burying herself in work—arranging meeting schedules with journalists, reviewing Arga’s notes, double-checking the documents. Yet every time she paused, Liora’s voice echoed again in her head.As evening drew close, the apartment door opened. Arga walked in with a stack of folders in his arms, his face weary but brimming with determination.“Finally, it’s done,” he said, setting the folders down on the table. “These are from Adrian. Some records of Devandra’s illegal transactions—strong enough to reinforce our report.”Vania offered only a faint smile. “That’s… good.”Arga lifted his gaze at her. Normally, she would greet him with small talk, maybe even brew him some tea. But tonight, she just sat there, unmoving.“What’s wrong? You seem…

That night, the air in Arga’s apartment felt heavy, as if every breath carried a weight too hard to lift. Vania sat on the edge of the sofa, her hands tightly clasped, fingers trembling. Her eyes stared blankly at the window, at the city skyline veiled in a haze of streetlights.Arga stood not far from her, body tense, still carrying the anger from the previous night’s chase. He watched Vania, who looked fragile, yet there was something sparking in her gaze—a fire beginning to ignite.“Vania…” Arga’s voice was low but firm. “I know this is hard. But I need you to trust me. We can’t keep running. Devandra will always find a way.”Vania closed her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. When she opened them, they no longer seemed empty. There was a new light there.“Arga, I’ve hidden enough. Letting him control my life with fear ends now.” She looked him straight in the eyes. “I won’t be a shadow anymore. I will stand with you. No matter the cost.”Arga stepped closer, kneeling in fron
