“Darius......”

"My king," he bowed, "the factions are gathered and waiting for you."

"I don't want to see anyone right now." I faced the garden. I was watching from the balcony top. It was a beautiful morning and the sun was just rising.

This was her favourite place in the entire palace. She loved the gardens so much. I can still see her face, smiling and picking up flowers.

"But.....your majesty—"

"Darius, tell them to leave."

"I know you miss her every day," he said, his words taking me aback. Darius wasn't just my guard, he was my beta and a good friend.

"No day passes by that I don't think about her." I replied not turning to look at him.

"The coven responsible for her death has been brought to justice. You can have peace now." His tone was reassuring.

But I wasn’t convinced. I didn’t know why, but I didn’t say a word.

I know what the factions are about to say it’s about me getting a mate. But how long is it going to take for them to understand I don’t want a mate?
