Chapter 7 :Entering the Snake Forest

Sebastian strolled out of the village.

At the village entrance, there was a simple directional sign indicating the locations of various wild animals near the village.

The territory of the Bamboo Leaf Green Snakes was in the southeast direction, within the bamboo forest.

Sebastian raised the iron sword and headed towards the bamboo forest.

His sword was particularly conspicuous in the eyes of others.

After all, everyone else was unarmed, so they were all very curious.

"Hi.bro, how did you get this weapon?"

"Young man, can you tell me how you obtained this weapon? I want one too~"

"Hey, big bro, can you take me along? Can we team up?"

"Buddy, do you sell that sword? I'll pay, we can do an out-of-game trade, I'll transfer money to you via Alipay or zelle."

Sebastian was bombarded with questions, feeling quite annoyed. He hurriedly increased his pace to shake off most of the players who were tailing him.

However, there was still a small group of players who continued to follow him, eager to uncover any secrets he might have.

Sebastian paid no attention to these eyes behind him and continued walking.

In less than two minutes, he reached a bamboo forest, and there was a sign at the entrance that read: "Enter Snake Forest with Caution."

Sebastian stepped inside.

The bamboo forest was tranquil, with only the sound of the wind rustling through the bamboo leaves. It seemed like there was nothing in there. However, upon closer observation, you could see that there were green snakes coiled on some of the bamboo branches, and green shadows slithering on the ground.

Sebastian did not rush in to kill monsters, but first called up his combat attribute panel.

[Health: 100/100]

[Mana: 100/100]

[Realm: Mortal Realm]

[Cultivation: 0/100]

[Strength: 1]

[Psychic power: 1]

[Defense: 1]

[Speed: 1]

[Skill: None]

[Equipment: Iron Sword]

It was a very ordinary attribute panel. Strength determined physical damage, while Mental Power determined magical damage. One point of Strength was equivalent to 10 points of attack, and the same applied to Mental Power.

This panel represented the basic combat attributes for all players when they first entered the game. Once they reached the Qi Refinement Realm, these attributes would immediately increase tenfold.

Innate attributes and combat attributes were not related, so despite Sebastian having maxed out innate attributes, his combat attributes were the same as everyone else's. Even if you were a natural talent, if you hadn't learned anything, you were still an ordinary person.

Sebastian closed the panel and began to work on the task at hand. He quickly found a green snake coiled around a bamboo branch.

Its emerald green body almost blended with the color of the bamboo so well that it was difficult to distinguish. Especially its triangular snake head and those blood-red eyes were chilling, making people want to keep a safe distance.

One had to admit that the realism of the "Wild Valley World" game was incredibly perfect, and its 100% simulation was not an exaggeration.

When this Bamboo Leaf Green Snake noticed Sebastian approaching, it immediately spat out a warning signal and raised its head slightly, an obvious pre-attack motion.

Sebastian decided to act first. He swung the iron sword in his hand as the snake prepared to strike.

Sebastian raised his iron sword and casually struck it on the snake's body, leaving a distinct sword mark on it.

"-30!"

A blood-red number floated up from the snake.

At the same time, Sebastian also saw the snake's status panel.

[Health: 120/150]

[Strength: 2]

[Defense: 1]

[Skill: Snake Venom]

The injured green snake made hissing sounds, fully agitated and lunged toward Sebastian.

However, Sebastian was not foolish enough to stand still and wait for the attack.

Newbie players found encountering venomous creatures to be a real headache. Their attacks came with poison damage, causing continuous health loss. New players who had just entered the game had no knowledge of techniques such as evasion and found it challenging to dodge monster attacks. Once afflicted by poison and unable to afford antidotes, they were in for a painful experience.

Thus, early-game newbie players preferred to hunt beasts with thick health and defense, steering clear of the poisonous creatures.

Sebastian, however, was no newbie player. He spotted the green snake attacking and skillfully dodged its bite by retreating to the right.

Snake attacks were familiar to everyone; if they missed, the snake would quickly retract and reposition for another attack on its prey.

As the green snake's attack missed, it recoiled. Sebastian seized the opportunity, gripped the sword hilt, gracefully made a sword dance, and thrust the sword precisely into the snake, seven inches down from its head.

Hitting a snake's seven-inch spot was common knowledge because that's where its heart was located.

In "Wild Valley World," every species had its strengths and weaknesses. Striking the opponent's weakness led to higher damage.

The snake pierced by the sword had its skin broken, and blood gushed out. A deeper wound than before appeared on its body as it fell from the bamboo and writhed in pain.

"Critical hit! -60!"

This strike dealt double the damage!

The green snake was left with only 60 hit points.

Sebastian took advantage of the situation and thrust the sword accurately into the seven-inch spot once more.

"-60!"

The damage completely depleted the snake's health bar, and Sebastian swiftly took down the green snake.

"Just changed my class, and it feels quite good."

Sebastian mused to himself while holding the iron sword.

Although transitioning from the path of magic to the path of martial weaponry was an entirely different career direction, Sebastian had immersed himself in the "Wild Valley World" for many years. His understanding of the game surpassed that of all current players.

He was well aware of all the careers in "Wild Valley World" and had even fought against numerous players with different professions.

With frequent encounters came insights. Sebastian knew their skills, advantages, and weaknesses. Therefore, when starting to play as a different class, he could quickly adapt.

If he were a mage, Sebastian was the top-tier king. For any other class, he was, at least, a diamond-level player.

In "Wild Valley World," the critical factors were gameplay and combat talent, which had no relation to the player's profession. Some individuals had natural gaming talent and could execute excellent moves, even inventing various unusual tactics and strategies. In his previous life, Sebastian had played a profession that did not require delicate moves, but he was still skillful.

Sebastian has an innate ability that allows him to excel in games, and even in this game, which he started playing just a year ago, he managed to reach the top ten on the leaderboard and become the recognized top mage.

In other words, he was born to play games.

To his surprise, Sebastian felt no resistance when trying out a sword for the first time. Instead, he experienced a strange sense of affinity and excitement.

After the green bamboo snake was killed, a wisp of blue light floated into Sebastian's body.

"Cultivation +3."

Sebastian's cultivation panel, which started at 1, instantly increased to 2.

Cultivation is similar to experience points. When it reaches the maximum, the realm can be broken through, and attributes will increase accordingly.

The green snake provided a substantial amount of cultivation.

In the newbie village, even the most challenging wild boars only gave 5 points of cultivation. Other monsters encountered by players usually provided only 1 or 2 points of cultivation, which was quite meager.

Wild Valley World has a high level of difficulty for leveling up, but there are many ways to increase cultivation. The most common method is by killing monsters and completing quests. There are other ways to enhance cultivation, such as taking pills, meditation, and practicing with the opposite sex.

Killing his first monster after the rebirth put Sebastian in a good mood. After the green snake died, it turned into a soul mound. Sebastian approached it and found only a pair of fangs.

Sebastian thought that was all.

However, he was surprised to find a piece of white equipment inside the soul mound.
