Chapter 54

The castle was usually silent. Even the slightest drop of a needle could be heard in the entire palace. Even the entire village was silent and cold. The atmosphere was dull and filled with sorrow.

Amelia walked down the stairs, her footsteps echoing unusually around the castle. There were no guards or maids around. It was dead silent. There was not even one single person around.

She stood when the reached the foot of the stairs, staring around to see if anyone would walk in. Her heart began beating unusually fast, the eerie silence was making her scared.

She heaved out a small breath and turned to the left, heading to the room where Winter slept. She had put it on her mind to see her, immediately she wakes up this morning. It wouldn't be good if she was left lonely. She smiled, looking at the cup of tea she had made for her in her hands. She was sure she'd love it.

Walking into the room, her brows knitted together in confusion when she couldn't find her. Where could she be?
