One second

last update Date de publication: 2026-04-30 18:13:07

The wheel locked.

Just for a second

But at this speed

That second was death.

The car veered.

Violently.

The rear slid out, tires screaming as control slipped from her grip.

“shit!” Voices exploded over the comms

“She’s losing it!”

“She’s done!”

Alina’s vision sharpened. She wasn’t panicking. She never dies.

“System.”

[Warning: Critical failure imminent.]

“I can see that.”

The car swerved harder, inches from slamming into the barrier.

Her fingers tightened on the wheel

Unresponsive. “Fix it.”

[Insufficient automatic correction.]

Alina exhaled trying to remain calm

[Suggestion: Use Points.]

Her eyes narrowed. “For what?”

[Emergency Option Unlocked: Precision Override — 50 Points]

[Effect: Temporary full control synchronization (3 seconds)]

Three seconds.

At this speed

That was everything.

Or nothing.

The car jerked again. Closer to the edge. She might lose the car any moment from now

Behind her

Engines roared trying to close in on her. The drivers were waiting for her downfall.

Alina exhaled slowly. “Do it.” she commanded with regret in her voice

It wasn’t her plan to waste her points on little things like this but she needed to build her name.

[50 Points Deducted.]

[Precision Override Activated.]

Everything changed.

The world slowed. Not literally but to her, it did.

Every movement became clear. The car vibrated. It was no longer fighting her anymore. It was listening.

“We are back on track, baby.” She whispered smiling, her grip shifted

She didn’t force the wheel, she guided it. The car responded instantly. The slide was corrected. Not fully

The barrier rushed toward her very fast and she turned hard. The car spun. Not out of control. But intentionally like it could hear her.

A full rotation tires screaming, body sliding sideways across the track

“WHAT IS SHE DOING?!” The announcer exclaimed in shock

Normal people don't drive like this.

Mid-spin her foot slammed the accelerator. The car snapped forward straightened and shot out of the drift

The watchers were silent for some half a second. No one understood what they just saw.

“She…she used the spin to realign?!” someone shouted like he just saw a ghost

“That’s insane!”

Alina’s eyes locked forward. Cold, ready to break anything that comes in contact with her.

“Still in it.”

[Precision Override: 1.2 seconds remaining.]

The finish line was right there.

Very close.

First place was just ahead.

Barely.

Alina pushed harder.

No hesitation.

No fear.

The engine screamed as the car surged forward. Closing the gap

The announcer gasped in horror

The car was smoking as though it was about to explode

The other driver glanced over and was shocked.

A lady shouldn't be driving like this unless she wants to die.

“There's no way she's doing this.”

[Precision Override Ending.]

The control snapped back. The steering jerked again violently. But this time Alina was ready. She adjusted her hand holding it together

“McCauley’s are not known for failure” she muttered and accelerated. The finish line rushed toward them

The crowd were cheering for the first driver.

And then…
