The Knights Templar are recorded as one of the fiercest fighting forces in history famed for protecting Christian Pilgrims travelling in the Holy Land but what modern history books don’t reveal, is that the Templars were wolves. Once the Wolf Packs had steadfastly refused to participate in the second Scottish Rebellion of 1745, King George II ordered that the wolves were to be eradicated from history. Scribes spent years rewriting historical documents and manuscripts, obliterating the entire race from the annals of history. Where the wolves had done anything remotely heroic or loyal, the scribes attributed these acts to humans and any achievements that didn’t fit in to this new world order were just removed altogether. Unfortunately, many of these re-written histories remain as credible testimonies to this day. In around 1118, a French wolf called Hugues de Payens, a rogue but also an aristocrat, formed the Templar Pack for any rogue who wanted to join. As a rogue himself he knew tha
Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Stand brave and upright, Speak the truth even if it means your life, Protect the helpless and do no wrong. Templar oath. There was an audible buzz of excitement around the Reiver Pack house as the Croziers arrived and parked in the unusually crowded car park. It was the day the Macgregor Clan were to be initiated back into the Reiver Pack and the entire place was a hive of activity. The Reivers had spared no expense on this celebration and seemed keen to impress, or perhaps the correct term would be to intimidate the MacGregors with an ostentatious show of wealth. Omegas were flitting around either taking coats or filling glasses and making sure everyone had whatever they needed. Annie linked her arm in Hugh’s as they climbed the steps and entered the impressive hallway where an omega took Annie’s coat before they walked across to the ballroom. The room couldn’t have looked more different than it had for Annie and Hugh’s wedding almost
Too much rogue is a sign of despair. Arlene Dahl. Duncan Conell was a rogue, he had been a rogue ever since his idiot father had challenged their Alpha and had lost. The Alpha had killed Duncan’s father and he and his mother had no choice but to run, making it over to England by way of the ferry from Dublin to Heysham. His mother hadn’t lasted long once they were safe on the mainland, pining for her dead mate, Duncan had woken one morning in the forest where they were sleeping rough to find her dead, the grief taking her at some point during the night. Like the dutiful son he buried her in the forest and doing the best he could, he marked her grave with some flowers and greenery he found lying around, Duncan was no more than fifteen years old. Being rogue at such a young age should have been hard but Duncan revelled in the freedom, the freedom from his father’s fists, his mother’s drinking and her reliance on him, he felt free.
No one can save me and I don’t expect them to, but the ones who wait patiently my side while I’m saving myself, those are my true heroes. Stephanie Bennet-Henry. Duncan was sat in what looked to be a dining room with the man who had saved him. He was in a dark place, angry and brooding, the loss of his mate had left him feeling numb and empty. Fael was back but he was still weak leaving Duncan feeling vulnerable especially as the dining room was busy with other wolves, some eating, some just drinking coffee and chatting. They all had a similar scent telling him they were from the same pack and here was Duncan, a rogue, sat amongst them and not one of them batting an eyelid that he was here. “Are you going to tell me what this place is?” asked Duncan. “This is a Chapter House.” “What does that even mean, you’re wolves, so this is a Pack house, right?” “Yes we are wolves, but no, this i
When they fall in love with a city, it is for forever and it is like forever. Toni Morrison. It was a Friday evening as Annie and Hugh were driving down to Edinburgh to take Brother Andrew up on his offer of seeing the relics of Menai. It was the first time Annie had left the Highlands in over a year so they going to make the most of it, they had plans to visit Pete and Sarah while they were there, they hadn’t even met Finn yet and it was something that Annie was really looking forward to. Camron was sat at his desk as Annie and Hugh entered the apartment building and he nodded his hello, smiling at them as he mind linked them both. “Welcome back Mr and Mrs Crozier.” “Good to see you Camron.” answered Hugh through the mind-link. “The cleaners have serviced your apartment and the fridge is well stocked as you requested.” “Thank you.” replied Annie, retu
My heart is, and always will be yours. Jane Austen. While Sarah was looking at books with Finn, Annie wandered around looking at the new releases. There were a few historical novels that looked interesting but then she spotted one that really caught her eye. She wandered over to the very busy display, it was much busier here than anywhere else in the store. Picking up a copy of the book she flipped it over to read the blurb on the back. She was surprised to see it was a book about the Templars when she was jostled from all sides as shoppers grabbed a copy for themselves. Frowning, Annie moved away from the crowd and flicked through the book, it seemed the book depicted the Templars as humans and the main protagonist, an expert on historical symbols, was on some sort of quest. Annie bought herself the book with a promise to herself that she would read it to see what all the fuss was about. Before Annie and Sarah had
Running away was easy, not knowing what to do next was the hard part. Glenda Millard. The mini bus was crowded and uncomfortable with six wolves and all their luggage all crammed in the back but Duncan was just glad that they weren’t in Brother Andrew’s car, this was luxury compared to that. They drove for three hours up the A9 until they reached Inverness. Brother Andrew pulled into a service station to let everyone out to stretch their legs. “Make sure you use the bathroom here, we won’t be able to stop until we reach our own territory in the Highlands.” announced Brother Andrew to the group. “Won’t be able to?” asked Duncan. “Why?” “We will be travelling through Reiver territory, while we have special permission to pass through, we don’t have permission to stop, the Reiver’s do not appreciate rogues on their pack lands.” “Oh.” was all Duncan could find to say. He knew all packs disliked rogues, his
The only way to find your voice is to use it. Jen Mueller. Brother Andrew set off early the following morning hoping to be back in Edinburgh by the middle of the afternoon. He had been to the pack house in Thurso and had a productive meeting with Alpha Solomon the previous night. The Alpha had liked the idea of their history being properly documented and he had also expressed an interest in meeting Annie too so when stopped in Inverness for coffee he decided to call her to see he could arrange a meeting. He pulled out her card and tapped her number into his phone, Annie answered on the second ring. “Hello?” “Mrs. Crozier, it’s Brother Andrew here, I wondered we could meet at the Chapel this afternoon? I have some good news.” “Yes of course, what time?” asked Annie, she was excited at the thought of getting her teeth into another project, especially one that hadn’t been written before. They agree
