In my previous life, My Alpha mate hated me for twelve years because he thought his parents forced him to mark me, thus causing his childhood sweetheart Ivy’s death.

Despite this, he still sacrificed himself to save me when the rogue wolf attacked. His last wish before he died was that he had never mated to me.

After he died, everyone, including me, regretted bonding us to each other.

For three years, I howled my prayers to the Moon Goddess every night. Finally, the great Moon Goddess granted me a second chance.

The Moon Goddess's power surged through me as I returned to the past. Ethan's mocking voice filled my ears once again.

"My parents threatened to exile me if I didn't mate with you. Your trick really worked, didn't it?" His laugh was bitter and cold. "But even if we're bound as mates, I'll never give you my love. We'll never be happy."

My eyes snapped open.

There he was—Ethan, alive and breathing, standing right in front of me.

His hands were casually shoved into his suit pockets. The contempt in his eyes was impossible to hide.

The future Ethan had grown into a mature, controlled Alpha. But this younger version was lazy and carefree, with that wild energy I hadn't seen in years.

My throat tightened at the sight.

The Moon Goddess had truly brought me back. But not to when we first met. She'd sent me back twelve years, to the very day we were supposed to hold our mating ceremony.

Thank the goddess it was this moment. There was still time to fix everything.

I swallowed the ache in my chest and drank in the sight of him.

"Ethan, you don't want to bind with me because the one you really love is Ivy, isn't it?"

His body went rigid. I'd hit the mark.

He stared at me with ice-cold eyes. "So what if it is? You're the former Alpha King's daughter. Our parents arranged this mating to give our pack stronger allies. We're about to submit our binding application to the Alpha Council. The whole pack knows you're going to be my mate. Do you really think we have any choice left?"

I nodded honestly. "Yes, we do."

Ethan scoffed. "I don't have time for your games. Just sign the application form and get it submitted to the Alpha Council. I'll wait outside."

As a powerful Alpha, his mating required Council approval. Only with their blessing could our bond become official.

This was my chance to change everything.

I watched his retreating figure, and my heart felt like it was being stabbed with silver needles.

I had loved Ethan for so many years, in this life and the last.

He'd saved me three times, risking his own life. I thought that meant he loved me too.

His parents had convinced me. "Ethan acts tough but he's soft inside. If he didn't love you, why would he risk death to save you over and over?"

I believed them. I was so happy to bind with him.

It wasn't until Ivy died that I finally understood the truth. He loved someone else entirely.

His dying words—wishing he'd never met me—had crushed whatever was left of my soul.

My twelve years of love had been his twelve years of torture.

Before the Moon Goddess sent me back, she'd given me a mission. I had to fulfill Ethan's three deepest regrets to break the cursed mate bond between us. Only then could we both be free and change our fates.

He wouldn't have to die at thirty-five because of me.

We'd both finally have the lives we deserved.

I looked down at the application form and wrote Ivy's name where mine should have been.

I remembered the three regrets from Ethan's private journal, written in his own hand:

'I regret becoming mates with her. I regret not fighting against my family's arrangement. I regret failing to save Ivy.'

His first regret would be fulfilled today.

I submitted their mating application to the Alpha Council and walked outside. Ethan was waiting by the door.

The approval would take some time. I wasn't ready to tell him that he'd soon be mated to his beloved Ivy.

I smiled at him gently.

"Ethan, I've prepared a gift for you. You'll find out what it is when the mating application gets approved. I hope you'll like it."

The most important person? The intensity in his eyes, the way he'd leaned forward like he was about to say something more—it had all been too much.I'd stared at him continuously, trying to process what he'd just said. The implications. The sacrifice he'd made.Seeing my stare, Ethan's ears had turned red and he'd coughed awkwardly, suddenly looking more like the boy I used to know."I saw you liked photos of moon flowers on Facebook the other day," he'd said, his words coming out in a rush. "I've prepared a surprise for you tonight. When the time comes, you...""Ethan."I'd gently interrupted him, and seeing my expression was off, he'd quickly started backtracking."Don't you like moon flowers? I'm sorry, I'll rearrange everything right now. What would you like to see? Fireworks? Fountains? I can call the event planner—""Ethan, stop."He'd looked very nervous then, that humble, eager-to-please expression exactly like how I used to be. The role reversal had been painful to witness."W

His mother spat in disgust, her face twisting with contempt. "Evil gets its reward. Even though she was saved from that injury, her life isn't going well now."She leaned forward, lowering her voice like she was sharing pack gossip. "I heard she tried to be someone's mistress recently and got caught by the original mate. She was beaten badly—black eye, broken ribs, the works. Now everyone on the street shuns her. No decent pack will take her in."His father shook his head grimly. "She made her bed with all those lies and manipulations. Now she has to lie in it."I sighed, agreeing with his father's sentiment. "What goes around comes around. Good and evil always get their due.""Exactly," his mother continued, her voice getting more animated. "And you know what the worst part is? She's been trying to contact Ethan again. Can you believe the audacity? After everything she put him through, she still thinks she can crawl back."My stomach tightened at that news. "Has she... has she succeed

I blinked, focusing on the young woman standing beside my desk. Sarah, one of my graduate students. She had concerned brown eyes and was holding my phone out to me."How long was I...?" I started to ask."About ten minutes," she said gently. "You seemed to zone out during our research discussion. Are you feeling alright? You look pale."I realized I was in my university office, not my bedroom. The memories were still settling, reality and recollection blurring together."I'm fine," I said, taking the phone from her. "Just tired. Thank you, Sarah."She nodded but didn't leave immediately. "The caller ID says 'Mom.' Should I tell her you'll call back?"I snapped back to reality completely and gently thanked her. "No, I'll take it. Could you give me a moment?"She nodded and stepped out, closing the door behind her.The caller was Mom—Ethan's mother, who'd raised me as her own. I immediately answered."Rachel, dear, I hope I'm not interrupting your classes."Her warm voice brought instant

After leaving the hospital, I felt an obsession driving me home. My legs moved on autopilot through the empty streets. The world around me felt surreal, like I was walking through a dream.I knew it was time. Time to return. When I opened my eyes again, everything felt wrong. The light streaming through my window was too bright, the air too clean. I instinctively reached for the wall to steady myself, my head spinning violently. My temples throbbed with sharp, stabbing pains. It felt like someone was driving nails into my skull.I realized I was back—twelve years later. But this time, history had changed. The room looked different. Instead of the sparse, clinical space I remembered, there were warm touches everywhere. Photos on the nightstand. Books scattered on the desk. A coffee mug with "World's Best Professor" printed on it.This wasn't the life I remembered living.A flood of new memories suddenly crashed into my mind like a tsunami. They hit me so hard I gasped, clutching my hea

His mother's voice rose to a furious shriek through the phone speaker. "You shameless woman! How dare you trample on someone else's love like this? Aren't you afraid the Moon Goddess will punish you?"The recording crackled with static as Ivy's voice came through, dripping with contempt and amusement."Punish me? Please. I'm just smart enough to know what I want and how to get it. Your precious son is nothing but a lovesick puppy who comes running every time I crook my finger."Ethan's face went ashen. His hands clenched into fists at his sides."The funniest part," Ivy continued in the recording, "is watching him throw away that pathetic girl who actually loves him. Rachel is so boring and predictable. At least with Ethan, I get entertainment value watching him suffer."The other person laughed scornfully, and the recording cut off abruptly.Ethan stood there stunned, his world tilting on its axis. His breathing became shallow and rapid. This was completely different from what he'd im

The thermos bowl crashed to the floor with a deafening clang.Ethan's face went completely white. His hands shook violently as he stared at his beta assistant."What did you say!" His voice came out as a strangled roar that echoed down the hospital corridor. His heart felt like it had been struck by a sledgehammer. Sharp, crushing pain shot through his chest, making it hard to breathe. The world around him seemed to tilt and blur."Alpha, please calm down," his assistant said nervously, glancing around at the staring medical staff. "The situation is—""No!" Ethan cut him off, his voice breaking.Ethan forced himself to stay calm, though his entire body was trembling. "Where is she now? Take me to see her immediately!"His assistant scrambled to lead the way, practically running to keep up with Ethan's frantic pace. When they reached the hospital room, Ethan shoved the door open so violently it slammed against the wall with a bang."Wait, Alpha, you can't go in there right now!"A head
