Chapter 7 You are not a wolf but a pig!

Alisha’s POV

When I was hesitated whether I should ask help for Archie, Joey questioned closely, “Alisha, will Archie and his mother will come together, right?”

No, he wouldn’t come. He even didn’t appear in our wedding anniversary, so how could he come here to celebrate your birthday?

What’s more, I never informed Archie this thing, and I bet he wouldn’t remember your birthday.

How should I answer Joey’s question?

I wanted to cheat Joey that Archie was too busy to attend his birthday party, but I was afraid that Joey might call Archie personally to invite him. Then Joey must know I wanted to leave Archie.

Evita added, “Dad, maybe Alisha ignored your words totally. Or, Archie is unsatisfied with Alisha, so he vents his anger on our pack. After all, since she married Archie, Archie never came to our pack. Dad, I warned you, it wasn’t a good idea to allow Alisha to be Archie’s wife!”

Joey squinted after hearing Evita’s words, and then he became impatient with my silence, snapping, “Now that you don’t care about me, I think there is no need for you to see your grandma later.”

“No! You have no right to stop me from seeing my grandma!” I irritated with Joey’s threaten.

“I am the Alpha of the Black Furies, and I am her son! Follow my orders and get out of my pack forever!” Joey growled.

I glared at Joey, “Don’t forget that I am the Luna of the Golden Crest! You never want to offend Archie, right?”

Joey frowned immediately with clenched fist. I knew he was controlling his temper.

Today was not a good time to come to an open break with Joey, so I tried to cool myself down and performed, “Sorry, Joey, I overreacted just, for I am so mad with Evita who has hurt my heart harshly. I have informed Archie, and he promised that he will attend your birthday party.”

Joey turned happy with answer, “That’s great! The Alpha of the Golden Crest will bring great honor for our pack!” Then he continued with a cheesy smile, “Alisha, you’re Evita’s cousin, you are supposed to be tolerant. She was kidding with you just, not to offend you, so forgive and forget it. After all, we are your family who will always stand for you!”

“Well, You’re right. I have forgiven her.” I nodded. “But you should teach her. On your birthday party, there will be many noble guests. If Evita offends other like today, it will bring great trouble for the Black Furies.” I reminded Joey out of kindness.

“Stop talking nonsense!” Evita shouted angrily.

“Just like this. Evita, you’re too rude! How can you shout so loudly at others? Uncle Joey, you must find a manner teacher for Evita. Or she might lose your face on the party.”

Joey seemed to accept my suggestion, looking at Evita with disapproval.

I didn’t want to stay here anymore and took this chance to leave.

Whatever, I must have Archie to work with me to cheat Joey. I regretted that I treated him badly this morning. If I knew I had to beg him now, I would … would still NOT allow this bastard insult me! He was too mean this morning!

Moon Goodness, please bless me!

I took a sigh and then called Archie, but the phone was declined immediately.

What’s wrong?

I called him again, but it was declined too.

I frowned. Is it inconvenient for him to answer the phone now? Maybe he was on a meeting?

I frowned and then texted him, “Archie, could you please do me a favor?”

His message came in immediately, “Huh, which woman said that she didn’t want to see me anymore?”

I ignored his words and continued texting, “Please, this is important to me. Only you can help me now.”

"If my memory serves, we just quarreled this morning.”

I closed my eyes, trying to contain my anger. With a deep breath, I composed a text message, "I believe the Alpha of the Golden Crest is not a petty man, so you shouldn't refuse a small favor, right? I'm even willing to offer you a tip as compensation, say $10,000." My song rights had been sold to DM Entertainment, but unfortunately, my royalties ended up in Archie's hand.

"Why do you think money will sway me?" I cursed myself for forgetting that this bastard was never short of cash.

"What would it take for you to assist me?" Anxiety gnawed at me. If Archie refused, Joey might Joey might suspect me and even found my plan to divorce Archie, and at that time, my grandmother would be in danger.

The next moment, Archie's call came in, his voice dripping with undisguised triumph, "No matter what you say, I won't agree unless you apologize to me!"

A surge of anger coursed through me. Archie wanted me to apologize? He, who had betrayed our marriage, who had cheated with Erma, now had the audacity to ask me for an apology?

"I've had enough of you! If you don't want to be with me, just say it! I know you look down on me, think I'm beneath you! I don't care about you either! You've never treated me with respect as your wife, and you've never come to the Black Furies! Everyone knows my Luna status is a sham!" I let all my pent-up anger burst forth. I was fed up with this shit marriage and these jerks. If it weren't for my grandmother, I'd be long gone, never to return.

Archie remained silent on the other end for a moment. Just when I thought he might hang up, he impatiently asked, "What's going on with you lately? Is someone bothering you?"

"It's you! It's always been you! You've always rejected me, ignored me!"

"Fine, what do you want me to do this time? Just spit it out. I don't have time for your boring games."

Though I wanted to remind Archie that this was no game, when I heard him would change his mind, I didn't hesitate, "Joey is having a birthday, and he hopes you can come to the Black Furies to celebrate with him."

"No problem. I promise. Are you satisfied now?"

"Also, Joey wants to invite your mother, Stephenie. It will be great if you can have her come together." Stephenie had always opposed my marriage to Archie; she despised me. So, inviting Stephenie to the Black Furies was a daunting task. Truth be told, I didn't want to do it at all, so I hoped Archie could finish this work.

I felt like I had been waiting for an eternity, but finally, Archie's reply came. Fortunately, he was dependable this time. After a brief silence, he said, "Remember, you're asking for my help, so you owe me one."

"Deal!" I exhaled in relief. Resolving this matter was my top priority. If worse came to worst in the future, I could simply deny it. After all, I would even get divorced and left with my grandmother, and at that time, Archie couldn't do nothing to me.

Archie continued, "So when are you coming back?"

I was puzzled by his question. Did he miss me during my absence? My heart raced, and I replied cautiously, "Why do you want me to come back?"

"I can't stomach the food Mireya makes."

Damn! This guy only cared about his meals! Archie, you are not a wolf but a pig!

However, considering he had just helped me solve a major issue, preparing a meal for him wasn't a big deal. So, I responded, "Maybe tomorrow."

"Okay." With that, Archie hung up.

I was about to stow my phone away when another call came in. It was Bob, the music director I had interviewed with earlier. I quickly answered, "Hello, I'm Alisha."

"Alisha, it's Bob. We met before, and I'm pleased you are willing to sell your song to our company. While I truly appreciate your singing, I'm sorry to say our company has decided to have another singer perform the song."

My heart sank upon hearing the news. I responded calmly, "That's alright; it's not your fault. I hope we can still collaborate in the future."

"I look forward to that day."

Before ending the call, I couldn't resist asking, "May I ask, well, I mean, could you tell me who will be performing the song? I'm just curious and want to learn from him to get better."

"It's not a secret. Our company will announce the news soon. It is Erma."

At the mention of that name, I froze as if plunged into an icy wasteland. Did I misheard? Why is it Erma? How could it be her?

Sensing my distress through the silence, Bob's tone turned serious, "Alisha, there's something important I need to tell you."
