ALANA’S POV

I felt the agony of each passing day, as if a knife were twisting in my chest. I couldn’t stop thinking about Kai, the man who had marked me as his mate and then vanished without a trace. Days have passed since his departure, and there’s still been no news from him. The people await his return as eagerly as I do. His voice haunts my dreams—a sweet and seductive song that makes me ache for his presence.
