Chapter 21: Thin thread

Selene reconsidered asking the maid directly; she needed to wash the clothes, but she wasn't ready to face the maids yet. She hasn't forgotten what happened those few days, and she wasn't ready to reminisce about what happened.

”Is there a place I can wash this cloth?” Selene asked the maid.

“Of course, my Queen, if you need to wash your clothes, we will gladly do it because that's our work, but as long as you remain our superior, we will take care of your needs before you ask for it,” Penelope explained.

“Oh,” Selene didn't know that. “Okay. Please wash this cloth for me and dry it. I need it today.” Selene said to the maid.

“Anything Milady. I will be quick to prepare your bath.

“You don't have to. I will bathe myself." Penelope didn't protest and silently bowed before leaving the room with the cloth in Selene's hand.
