"I... I was coming to meet you" I fabricated a lie and looked at Mother, hoping she brought it. She looked at me for a few seconds, then nodded.

"You should rest and don't worry, now I will not leave your side and next time, give me a voice or mindlink me instead of troubling yourself," She said and cupped my face to kiss my forehead like a mother. I felt immense guilt for lying to her.

"Let's go back to your room," She said. I nodded and walked with her back to my room. I sat on the bed.

"I asked the maid to bring the soup for you, and after that, you can have your medicine and take a proper sleep," she said and kept her hand on my cheek.

"You have to get well soon," She muttered. I held her hand and kissed her palm.

She made me drink soup with her hand and then gave me my medicine as the doctor prescribed. She stayed with me until I dozed off because of heavy medicine.
