I was nervous. Seriously nervous. I checked the time on my room clock again and saw that it was already fifteen minutes past twelve. I paced round the room in nightgown as I waited for Mason.

"Here's coming already." Nicky said and I too felt it. Then the living room door clicked open and then I heard footsteps. Mason was back! I was about to run out to meet him when Nicky's voice stopped me. "Don't go!" She said.

"Why? Isn't that why we were waiting?"

"Let him eat first." She advised. Yes, I had prepared his favorite food again and had placed it in the dining room hoping that he would eat it by the time he was back. I wanted Mason to be happy when I was asking him to be my date. I intensionally didn't place his favorite wine that he loved to drink whenever he ate his favorite meal and hoped he would not take it from the fridge.
