TITAN’S POV

The ground trembled beneath my paws as I lunged, my senses so heightened, I could taste the air.

Alan twisted away at the last second, dirt and crushed grass spraying into the air as my claws gouged the earth where his throat had been a heartbeat before.

He snarled, low and sharp, and slammed his shoulder into my flank. Pain flared for a moment, but I welcomed it.

Pain kept my senses sharp.

We circled each other in the training grounds. Two massive wolves under the open. My fur bristled as I bared my teeth. The rest of the men stood at a distance, giving us space.

Good thing they did, because I was getting infuriated at Alan's continued perseverance.

Alan struck first this time, snapping at my neck. I reared back and raked my claws across his shoulder. He yelped but didn’t retreat.

Stubborn bastard.

He came at me again, jaws clamping briefly around my foreleg before I shook him off and slammed him into the dirt.

He rolled, came up snarling, his chest heaving.

KARI'S POVI woke slowly to a wicked pounding in my head. It felt like I was being dragged from darkness by a weight pressing against my chest. At first, I thought it was the lingering haze of wine or the exhaustion after the Blood Moon ceremony. The beginnings of a yawn teetered on the edge of my consciousness, and my limbs felt heavy. And sluggish, as though I’d run for miles and then collapsed without rest. My head throbbed even harder as I raised my head, every pulse echoing behind my closed eyes. But then I furrowed my brows. The silence was wrong.Silvermoon was never this quiet. Even in the early hours, there were sounds, guards laughing as they went about their duties, distant voices of the castle workers, and the soft stir of life waking. This silence was thick. And it was suffocating me slowly.I carefully forced my eyes open, as they too felt like they'd been glued shut. What is wrong with me? I thought, studying the room bleakly.Stone walls greeted me.Cold. Pale. Fa

KARI’S POVIt was the day before the first Blood Moon in Silvermoon, and as expected, it felt surreal.Excitement hung in the air, mine and those of my pack members. The air felt like it knew what was coming and leaned closer to listen.I stood on the small platform inside the dressmaker’s shop, arms lifted as a gorgeous fabric was pinned and adjusted around me. Soft silver and deep blue flowed over my skin, the ceremonial gown catching the light every time I breathed and moved.Tomorrow, under the blood moon, I would have to retake my oath to protect and lead Silvermoon with all my strength.Charlotte clasped her hands together, eyes shining. “Oh, Luna, you look radiant. Aphrodite would be so proud.”Bianca circled me slowly, head tilted. “She does look amazing,” she agreed with a huge smile that reflected her admiration. “Though if Viktor sees you before the ceremony, I fear we may have to revive him.”I laughed, heat rushing to my cheeks. “You’re both dramatic.” I brushed a hand

VIKTOR’S POV“Well, my lady's definitely knowledgeable,” I muttered proudly as I scanned through each of the papers littered across the oak desk. The ledgers were winning, my eyes were already growing weary but I was having fun reading through Kari's suggestions. Mainly because of how she wrote them in such hilarious, lighthearted manners. It was one of the things I loved about her. How whimsical and adorably silly she was.I leaned back in my chair, rubbing a hand over my face as the columns of numbers blurred together. Her writing was neat and very organized and I once again marvelled at her intelligence. She was a great Luna and leader of the pack, and I made a mental reminder to tell her that so she could feel even more proud of herself.I had been in there for a while though, pouring through ceremony preparations, patrol rotations, grain stores and ceremonial placements. And of course my sweet bride made notes in the margins reminding herself to check on the widows and make sur

KARI’S POVThe castle grounds were washed in soft morning light, the kind that made Silvermoon look almost unreal.I kept squinting up at the colourful rays that bounced off the glass windows as the sun hit it.It was beautiful. But it wasn't enough to completely hold off the bits of doubt twisting inside my chest.Bianca walked beside me with a spring in her step, hands clasped behind her back, humming as though the world had done nothing but please her.She nudged my shoulder. “So,” she said with a slow, teasing grin, “is it a good time for me to say ‘I told you so?’”“Bianca, please,” I sighed. She chuckled.“No, but it's funny that you truly believed Viktor had abandoned you? Just…” she waved a hand around, “...walked out the door and out of your life? Come on now, sister.”Heat crawled up my neck. “I didn’t…I had my reason for thinking that,” I muttered. “I just, he left without speaking to me. And after the heavy explosion Titan dropped on us before? Surely you must understand m

  • Rejected By MY Alpha ~ Claimed By His Beta   Chapter 168

TITAN’S POVThe gates of Wilder closed behind me with a deep groan, but the sound did nothing to settle the storm ripping through my chest. My wolf paced like a caged beast. I was furious , I felt insulted, and bewildered. The warriors in the courtyard scrambled out of my way as I stomped towards the castle's main entrance, but their fear only grated on me more. Everything grated on me. I had gone to Silvermoon with the sole purpose of returning with Kari. I'd thought it'd be easy. And I’d returned empty-handed.She hadn’t even looked at me the way she used to. I hated the way she stood so close to Viktor. Viktor, I scoffed. The same fool I sent out of my pack? Why him? Why was Kari acting as though she belonged to him?As though she’d never belonged to me at all. A soldier held the door open as I stomped inside. ‘There was still hope,’ I thought firmly.when I’d reached for her, there had been hesitation and confusion. I saw the flicker of emotion in her eyes.It had to mean some
