Chapter 25

Kira's POV

I stared at Viktor, my mind numb and my heart pounding loud enough that I could feel the throb of it in my throat.

He had just said the words I never could’ve imagined.

“I was his beta, and best friend.”

Those words rang in my head, over and over.

I was in disbelief. It felt like someone had reached into my chest and crushed everything I thought I knew.

Viktor was Titan's beta.

How could that be true?

My legs were trembled, but I stood still, staring down at him where he sat on the cold floor, shoulders slumped, eyes dark and hollow.

There was something utterly broken about him in that moment…..something that made him look years older than he actually was.

But no matter how lost or tired he looked, none of it erased the betrayal burning in my chest.

“You were his beta? Alll this time and you lied to me, kept the truth away from me.” I repeated slowly, my voice low with disbelief.
