Kira’s POV

Seeing the shocked expression on both my parents' faces felt disheartening.

My father loved Indira a lot and has always tried to make sure she does not feel left out. Although it took my mother some time to fully accept her, she later grew fond of her, accepting Indira as her daughter.

I know they must feel betrayed, but I couldn't help but think maybe they would finally understand me and forgive me.

“Alpha Alaric, your daughter has been betrayed by someone she called a sister, your own daughter and all you can do to her is scold and push her away? Kari needs you more than ever now.” Viktor said with a firm expression on his face.

He looked so fierce defending me passionately. I had no idea how to feel about it.

“Indira would never…” my father said, still in a daze.

Hearing how he was defending Indira broke my heart further.

“But she did father, she took my mate from me.” I cried out.

My father's eyes finally found mine, as tears streamed down my cheeks.

Kira pov “I am not leaving Viktor’s place.”I had no idea why those words left my lips. But once they did, they echoed again and again in my chest, like my body had spoken before my brain could catch up. It wasn’t about Viktor. It never was. It was about me. About taking control of my life. About not running anymore.Crystal’s eyes widened, her face contorting in disbelief. She looked like she’d just been slapped.“Kira…” she gasped, the name barely making it past her lips. She didn’t understand. Maybe she didn’t want to. But I wasn’t going to beg for her understanding.Leaving Viktor’s place meant leaving behind any opportunity to understand who he really was, and what part he played in the strange events surrounding me. The murders. The pawn shop attendant. The mystery of my own near-death experience. And why he had a whole damn corkboard filled with pictures of me.I didn’t have the luxury of picking a safe option anymore.“I can’t leave, at least not yet.”Crystal’s mouth tremble

Kira’s POV The scent of cinnamon rolls and fresh coffee greeted me as I pushed through the back door of the bakery, tying the apron around my waist with shaky hands. A part of me felt relief — grateful, even — to have something simple and warm to hold onto. The other part? Still tangled up in the mess that was this morning.Viktor .Just thinking his name made my stomach knot. I had barely gotten a few bites of breakfast before our conversation — if you could even call it that — had ended with me storming into the bathroom to avoid looking at him. His words from last night still echoed in my ears, cutting deeper than I cared to admit.“I didn’t ask you to stay.”I didn’t belong in his world. And I definitely didn’t want to be a charity case under his roof. But I needed this job. I needed the paycheck. I needed an escape plan. The bell over the door chimed as customers trickled in. I plastered on a polite smile and greeted the first one — an older woman with gray streaks in her hair a

Titan's pov.The sharp, rancid smell, like rotting meat left under the sun hit me first as soon as Alan walked in.m, but I didn't flinch. I’d smelled worse on the battlefield. What stung more was the sight in front of me: Alan, the man I once called brother. He was barely recognizable now.His brown hair, once neatly trimmed, hung in oily strings over his eyes. His beard had grown wild, a nest of wiry black crawling over his jaw. The clothes he wore, if they could still be called that, were stiff with sweat and filth. He didn’t speak when he walked into my study. He remained on his knees his eyes fixed on a spot somewhere past my shoulder. Not defiant. Not afraid. Just… empty.Clayton closed the door behind him to give us privacy.“Alan.”Nothing.I stepped closer. My boots scraped against the gritty stone floor. The silence pressed in tighter.“I trusted you,” I said quietly, letting the words settle like ash between us. “I gave you power. I made you my beta.”He blinked once. Then

Indira's POV The morning air was unusually crisp, carrying a promise of change on its wings. I stood by the balcony of my room, watching the sunlight dance over the treetops of Blackmist territory. The lands stretched endlessly, veiled in golden mist. For a moment, I allowed myself to breathe—truly breathe—as if the vision of beauty below was mine to rule.Soon, it would be.My fingers curled around the carved stone balustrade, knuckles white with anticipation. Today was the day. The final piece of my plan would finally fall into place.Lady Serena—the ever-noble, ever-suspicious thorn in my side—was leaving.Gone on yet another one of her pointless “adventures,” chasing moon spirits or ancient prophecies or whatever eccentric nonsense occupied her regal mind. And when she left... she wouldn’t return.I smiled faintly, lips curling with satisfaction. The poison had already been prepared and mixed into the small jar of her favorite herbal tincture. The very one she never traveled witho

Kira's POV I could feel it in my gut. I wasn’t sure why, but something about that symbol had shaken him up. He knew something, but was hiding it.“I am sorry, this news is just too shocking. Like why would the pawn shop attendant be killed as well?” I asked.I could still remember how terrified that young boy was when that robbery happened. How did he die and why was he killed? “I’m sorry, this is a lot to process. What else do you know about the deaths?” I asked, hoping to get more information.“We don’t want to overwhelm you, but we thought it was best we informed you about the case as it involved a witness death as well as the death of the criminals.” Officer hale explained.“ We believe this was a targeted killing. And whoever did this… wanted to send a message. But the thing we don't understand is why. We will need you to come over to the station tomorrow for more questioning.” Officer Renna implored.Hearing that this killing was a message made my stomach churn. Was it a messa

Kira's POV. Hearing such a heart wrenching story on how Viktor lost his mate made my heart sway. I almost forgot about the fact that he lied to me about his real Identity. I felt pity for him seeing him on the floor looking like he had lost every reason for living. He looked lost. Like a man who has buried so much pain and hurt for a long time and has no idea how to deal with it now that it has resurfaced. “I won't call the border police on you, but I think I know what to do.” I said. Although Viktor might have had his reasons for keepiuhia real identity from me, it is something that I can't just push aside. I felt betrayed as foolish. All kinds of scenarios were playing in my head about what his reaction must have been when he found out I was Titan's mate. Maybe he kept me around looking for the perfect time for revenge. There were just a lot of questions going on in my head. “Really?* He asked, looking shocked. Even if inknownir would be the right thing as he is living in my
