Penelope's POV

My phone rings at exactly 7:23 AM, jolting me from the first real sleep I've had in three days. The caller ID shows an unknown number with a Crimson University area code.

"Hello?" My voice comes out scratchy and raw, like I've been screaming for hours.

"Is this Penelope Hale?" The voice is crisp. A Male voice. The kind of tone that usually means bad news.

"Yes." I brace myself for another humiliation somehow leaked beyond pack boundaries.

"This is Coach Reeves from Crimson University's hockey program. I have some footage here that I think you'll find interesting." There's something warm in his voice now, almost excited.

My stomach drops like a stone. More humiliation videos. "I'm not interested in"

"It's of you playing hockey," he interrupts gently. "And frankly, Miss Hale, it's some of the most impressive skating I've seen from an unrecruited player."

I sit up so fast my head spins, the room tilting dangerously. "I'm sorry, what?"
