Timothy's POV:

The nightmares started three weeks ago. Dreams where Kael runs through endless forests, hunting for something I refuse to name. Tonight I wake up shifted in my bed, claws shredding thousand-dollar sheets, amber eyes reflecting in the mirror.

I stumble to the bathroom and splash cold water on my face. My hands are still partially shifted, claws slowly pulling back into regular fingernails. It takes five minutes before they look normal again.

"Get it together," I mutter to my reflection.

My phone shows twelve missed calls from Madison. Three voice messages asking if I want to get breakfast. The timestamp says 3:47 AM. She was probably drunk at some party, posting stories about her amazing night.

I walk back to my bedroom and look at the damage. The sheets are destroyed. Long tears run from the headboard to the foot of the bed. There are claw marks gouged into the wooden headboard itself. My father is going to ask questions if he sees this.

My head pounds like someone hit

Penelope's POVThe phone won't stop ringing."Bloodfang Heir Courts Rising Hockey Star." The headline splashes across every territorial news site by morning.I stare at my phone screen, watching the notifications pile up. Texts from my mom. Calls from reporters. Friend requests from people I've never met."You're famous." Isla plops down beside me on the dorm couch, grinning. "Like, actually famous.""It's terrifying," I say, scrolling through another dozen messages. "How do people deal with this?""They usually have PR teams." She grabs a handful of popcorn from the bowl between us, crunching loudly. "Speaking of which, Liam called. He's handling the media stuff so you don't have to."Relief floods through me. "Thank god," I breathe out.My phone buzzes again. This time it's Liam."Hey," I answer on the second ring, pressing the phone to my ear."How are you holding up?" His voice is warm. "I know this is a lot.""That's an understatement." I stand and walk to the window, watching th

  • Rejected By My Hockey Alpha   Chapter 81 - Honeymoon Hell

Timothy's POVThe pain hits me like a freight train. One second I'm standing at the altar, saying vows I don't mean to a woman I don't love. Next, my chest feels like someone's ripping it open from the inside.Kael surges forward in my mind. "Mate! Something's wrong with our mate!""She's not our mate," I snap back, but even as I say it, I know he's not talking about Sophia. He means Penelope. The ceremony blurs after that. I go through the motions—kiss the bride, accept congratulations, smile for photos. But the whole time my chest aches."You look pale." Sophia touches my arm. "Are you feeling alright?""Fine." I force another smile. "Just tired."She buys it. Or pretends to. With Sophia, it's hard to tell what's real and what's a performance. The reception drags on for hours. Dancing, toasts, political conversations with pack leaders who want to congratulate my father on his strategic victory. Because that's what this marriage is.********By the time we reach the honeymoon suite a

  • Rejected By My Hockey Alpha   Chapter 80 - Moving Forward

Penelope's POVI spent Timothy's wedding day in the gym, punishing my body because I can't punish my heart. The weights are heavy, the training brutal, but nothing can drown out the voice in my head counting down the hours. Two hours until the ceremony starts. One hour. Thirty minutes."Pen, you need to stop." Isla grabs the barbell before I can lift it again. "You're going to hurt yourself.""I'm fine." Sweat drips into my eyes, stinging. "One more set.""No." She physically blocks me from the equipment. "You've been at this for six hours. Lyra is begging you to stop. I can hear her from here."It's true. My wolf has been whimpering for the past hour, feeling my pain and unable to help. But stopping means thinking, and thinking means accepting what's happening right now across the city."He's getting married." I grab my water bottle, drinking just to have something to do. "Right now, at this exact moment, Timothy is getting ready to promise himself to someone else.""I know." Isla's

  • Rejected By My Hockey Alpha   Chapter 79 - Wedding Day

Timothy's POVThe morning of my mating ceremony dawns cold and clear. I wake up on the couch in my apartment, still wearing yesterday's clothes, with a hangover that feels like divine punishment. My phone shows three missed calls from my mother and a text from Ethan. "Church rehearsal in two hours. Don't be late."I drag myself to the shower and stand under water hot enough to burn. It doesn't help. Nothing helps. Kael has retreated so far into my consciousness that I feel partially dead, like half of me is already gone. The rehearsal is at the Frostfang Grand Hall, a massive venue that my father had decorated within an inch of its life. White roses everywhere, silver ribbons, ice sculptures.*******"There you are." Mom appears the second I walk in, her face tight with stress. "Where have you been? We've been calling.""Sorry." I don't have a better excuse. "I'm here now."She looks me over, taking in my rumpled appearance and bloodshot eyes. "You look terrible. Please tell me you'l

  • Rejected By My Hockey Alpha   Chapter 78 - The Wedding Invitation

Penelope's POVThe envelope arrives three days after our victory. Heavy cream cardstock with gold embossing, delivered by a Frostfang courier who looks uncomfortable being in Bloodfang territory."Package for Penelope Hale." He shoves it at me and leaves before I can even sign for it.Isla peers over my shoulder as I turn the envelope over. "What is it?""I don't know." But my stomach twists with dread.I open it carefully, like it might explode. Inside is the most expensive piece of paper I've ever touched. "Alpha Marcus Blackthorn requests your presence at the mating ceremony of Timothy Blackthorn and Sophia Wintermoon."The words blur. I have to read them three times before they actually sink in."Are you fucking kidding me?" Isla snatches the invitation from my hands. "They sent you a wedding invitation?""Apparently." My voice sounds far away, like it belongs to someone else."This is sick." She throws the invitation on my bed like it's contaminated. "They reject you, demote you

  • Rejected By My Hockey Alpha   Chapter 77: The Dream

Timothy pov I stumble into my apartment, the room spinning slightly from all the alcohol. The silence is deafening after the chaos of the club. I don't bother turning on the lights, just kick off my shoes and collapse onto the bed fully clothed.Sleep comes fast. The sound of my apartment door opening pulls me from the edge of unconsciousness. I lift my head, squinting in the darkness."Ethan?" I call out, but it's not Ethan.Penelope steps into the moonlight streaming through my window. She's wearing a simple dress that hugs her curves, her blonde hair loose around her shoulders. Those hazel eyes find mine, and my breath catches."What are you doing here?" I sit up, my heart pounding."You know why I'm here." She closes the door behind her, leaning against it. "Very soon you marry someone else.""Penelope, I""Don't." She holds up a hand. "I didn't come here for apologies or explanations."She crosses the room with that new confidence I've seen in photos, the one that makes her seem
