KAMARI

For a few seconds after I wake up, I have no idea where I am.

My head feels a little heavy, but the rest of me is strangely comfortable. I lie still, blinking at the ceiling, trying to remember why I feel so rested.

Daylight streams in through the open window, and I stare up at the ceiling, counting down the seconds until the memory of last night returns.

Then I turn over and smell cedar in the sheets, in my hair, in my skin.

Elias…

My head lifts off the pillow, gaze drifting

  • Rejected By My Mate, Wanted By The Four Alphas   One Sense at a Time

KAMARII stop just outside the door, wondering if I should be relieved that Achilles hasn’t dragged me up another mountain or worried that whatever he has planned is waiting for me on the other side.He doesn’t wait for me to brace before he pushes the door open and steps into the cabin.Alright…here we go.The moment I step inside the cabin, the smell of old wood and damp earth replaces the fresh air outside. The cabin is bigger than it looks from outside.A worn sofa sits beneath the windows, facing a narrow wooden table. To my right, a black iron stove glows with a small fire, a kettle resting on top. There’s a dining table farther in, beside a simple kitchen with pots hanging above a stone hearth. Everything is made of wood, from the walls to the low ceiling, and the place looks old but well kept. My eyes scan the space, but I don’t find the home owner, or anyone else for that matter.Achilles moves through the cabin with a precision that feels almost memorized. He opens the w

KAMARI For a few seconds after I wake up, I have no idea where I am. Elias… My head lifts off the pillow, gaze drifting over the quiet room. No footsteps. No sounds coming from the bedroom. Nothing but the open window tells me what I need to know. He’s gone. I sit upright and throw off the covers tucked neatly around me. When did he leave? And why didn’t he tell me? I get out of bed and cross the room, staring out the window in hopes of catching a glimpse of him making his way down the bush path. What am I doing? My hands slam the windows shut and I secure the lock. I need to get to training.

  • Rejected By My Mate, Wanted By The Four Alphas   The Boy Who Knew Me First

KAMARII can recognise that scent anywhere, but that does nothing to explain why he’s standing in my bedroom with his hand clamped over my mouth.I buck against him again, trying to ease his weight off me.“I’m letting you go now,” he says, and releases me almost immediately.Planting my hands on my knees, I force back deep breaths to calm my racing heart.“Did I hurt you?” He asks.My head snaps up, glaring into the darkness.“Stay where you are.” My voice trembles. I move around in the darkness, tracing the wall with cold fingers until I find the light switch.A harsh orange glow fills the room, and I turn on my heel to find that it really is him.“Elias?”“Kami,” he steps forward, green eyes dull under the light, “please let me explain.”But it’s not his trespassing that enrages me. It’s not even that he grabbed and pinned me against a wall. It’s the sheer audacity of this man to defy the one rule I gave him.“How did you find me? WHY did you find me?”He combs his fingers through

  • Rejected By My Mate, Wanted By The Four Alphas   The Wrong Alpha

KAMARII can tolerate a great many things, but being kept in the dark is not one of them.Achilles has been avoiding me.When he told me to take a day off, I thought that maybe he was starting to understand just how much he’d hurt me, and when he reached for me at the door, I was almost certain I’d be seeing him again that night. But one day turned into two, then three, and now four. There’s nothing I hadn’t done to purge him from my mind, but it’s really hard to do when he’s the reason I’m here in the first place.I told myself that I didn’t care. I really didn’t. On the first day I cleaned my room. The next day, I took a long walk around Grimmane, soaking in the bright sun until my skin felt hot to the touch.By the third day, I decided that if Achilles had let his lover harass me without consequence, then maybe I didn’t need him to train me at all.I had gone to the arena by myself, and even though I cringed at the memory of my defeat in the sand, I picked up sticks and joined the

  • Rejected By My Mate, Wanted By The Four Alphas   A Matter of Distance

ELIASGrimmane’s territory is as imposing as I remember, its dense alpine lands giving way to guarded roads and stone structures as I approach the pack’s main settlement. The last time I came this close, Kamari was the only thing on my mind. Today, I have business with Alpha Achilles. The coronation is seven weeks away. There’s so much to be done, so much to set in place to eliminate distractions. Eliminate distractions. What a funny thing to say when Kamari’s face keeps crossing my mind. My grip tightens on the reins, picking up speed as I ride up to towering silver gates glistening in the morning sun.My shoulders hunch when a warrior steps forward with a raised eyebrow.“Who are you?” His voice is hostile, and I freeze for a moment before I remember.I lift my cloak over my head, watching recognition fill his eyes.“Alpha Elias.” He nods slowly, then turns to his men at the gates, “let him through.”My gut clenches as I pass through the gates into the cobblestone streets, and I

ACHILLESIt would have been easier if Kamari had slapped me, cursed me, or demanded that I leave her alone. I know what to do with anger. I have no idea what to do with the hurt I put there.I have never wanted to touch someone as badly as I wanted to touch her tonight, and I have never been more certain that I shouldn’t.Telling myself that I’m just reacting to the things I’ve heard is no longer enough, because every time I stand close to Kamari, my wolf won’t shut up, urging me to do things I can’t say out loud.Even now, he grows more agitated, fuelling the rage inside me.I know that meeting Vesper in this mood will worsen things, and quite frankly, I’m not sure I want to see her tonight. But I can only hope.I’m sitting at my table in the pack’s dining hall, shoving a forkful of meat in my mouth when I hear the scraping of a chair pulled back beside me.The smell of sage reaches my nose, and I remember when it used to calm me. Now it just makes me want to hurl my plate at a wall
