The rogue's yellow eyes held fixed on Elena like she was prey. I saw red on the edge of my vision. The wolf in me was scratching to get out, to tear this intruder's throat out right here, right now, in front of all these people.

I shook my head, refocusing myself. Six rogues against my pack is hardly a fair fight, for them. That is, if it was six rogues I'd been facing. They had nerve, coming here and interrupting this ritual. That's stupid bravery or reinforcements I couldn't see.
