Mag-log inScarlet’s POV
I didn’t know what this was, but whatever the Moon Goddess had planned, I wanted no part of it.
Without a second thought, I walked out on everyone, ignoring the growing murmurs behind me.
“Scarlet!” Damien called after me, but I didn’t respond.
I didn’t know where I was going. I just knew I needed to get away.
The Moon Goddess had to be insane, pairing me with someone like him.
Just then, his hand caught mine and spun me around. My body trembled as his fingers brushed against my waist.
“Let me go!” I snapped, yanking at his grip, just as we both lost balance.
He stumbled backward, losing hold of me, and in the process, tripped my leg. I fell straight onto him—lips to lips.
I stared at him, stunned, then tried to scramble away, but his grip tightened.
“Let me go, Damien!” I shouted, pounding against his chest, but he held on firmly.
His brows furrowed, then softened into an amused smile as he finally released me.
“You see me as some kind of monster?” he asked, standing up and offering a hand.
“This is how you thank me for saving your life?”
“I never asked you to do anything,” I said coldly. “So thank you, and now can you please sever the mate bond already?”
“Seriously? Are you kidding right now? Do you even understand what the Moon Goddess—”
“Damn the Moon Goddess!” I screamed, barely keeping my temper in check.
“Do I look like I give two fucks about her? Huh?” I spat, tears burning beneath my eyes.
I shut them tightly before speaking through clenched teeth. “Where was she when my friend Kayla was screwing my mate?”
“Scar—”
“Save it!” I snapped, cutting him off before he could say another word.
I didn’t care what he or the Moon Goddess had to say.
I was done being the fool who trusted too easily.
Done being the naive girl everyone used and tossed aside the moment I wasn’t convenient anymore.“I’m not going to be your Luna, Alpha Damien,” I said, wiping away the tears streaming down my cheeks. “And it’s obvious your pack agrees with that.”
Before I could leave, Callan and Emma appeared, both of them looking at me with what could only be pity.
I didn’t mean to be rude, but the pain eating me from the inside wouldn’t let me pretend.
I wasn’t healed yet, and this proposal? It was too much.
I couldn’t, and wouldn’t, accept it.“You can all find someone else to be your Luna. I’m not taking part in this twisted prophecy you think the Moon Goddess gave you!” I shouted, turning to leave.
“Scarlet, wait!” Emma, the pack doctor, called after me, but I didn’t look back.
“I just need some air,” I muttered, pushing through the stunned pack members and shutting the door behind me.
And then I heard it.
Voices, their whispers. Each of them is talking about Kayla and Alex. My name slipping off someone’s lips like poison.
“She took her best friend’s mate,” someone said. The words stopped me cold in my tracks.
“Seriously? How does she still look so innocent after that?” another voice added, full of venom.
“I think she just wants to be Luna by any means necessary.”
And then, the final blow.
“She’s a whore.”
“Whore!”
They all echoed it. Like a chant.I turned around slowly, facing the palace once again.
Fists clenched. Face burning.
No more tears. Just rage. I let out a scoff in disbelief. Staring at the pack members one after the other. "And where did you hear those ridiculous rumors from?" I started.
At this point, I had no choice but to speak for myself. It was clear now, Kayla had declared war.
“Huh?! Answer me!” I snapped, gripping the hem of my garment tightly, trying to steady my breathing.
Silence fell. No one dared speak, except one woman from the crowd.
“Didn’t you steal her mate?”
I turned sharply toward the voice, stunned. “Is that what she told you?” My voice cracked with disbelief.
“You don’t have to lie,” another voice added. “Everyone knows you slept with Alpha Alex. You betrayed Luna Kayla. Jeez, she's your best friend.”
“Yeah, it’s all out in the open now,” someone else muttered.
My heart sank.
So that was it. The whole neighboring pack knew. Every whisper, every sideways glance, it all made sense now.
“For your information,” I began slowly, my voice trembling with rage, “I didn’t steal her man. It’s the other way around.”
“Mmm, are you sure?” a voice questioned sarcastically. “Because that’s not what it looks like.”
My heart thudded painfully in my chest. “Who’s spreading these lies? Huh? If you’re bold enough, come out and say it to my face!”
I looked around, daring them. My blood boiled. My hands shook.
But no one stepped forward.
“You’re all cowards,” I spat. Sweat beaded on my forehead as I scanned their judgmental stares.
“We’re not cowards,” said the same woman who started it all.
She stepped forward. “We’re just not stupid. You think showing up here changes the fact that you slept with your best friend’s man?”
“Are you serious right now?” I asked through clenched teeth. “And how exactly do you know that?”
“She told us!” several voices chorused.
I paused. My chest rose and fell rapidly. So that’s it. Kayla had gone all in. First, she took Alex from me. Now she was out to destroy whatever I had left.
“I didn’t steal him,” I said, louder this time. “She did. Kayla got pregnant for him behind my back, and ruined my weddind day.”
“I bet,” the woman scoffed, retreating into the crowd, clearly unconvinced. Murmurs rose all around me. Accusations, disbelief, and disgust followed.
They’d already made up their minds.
No matter what I said, they wouldn’t listen. I had once thought of leaving the pack, even turned down Damien’s offer to be his Luna… but now?
Now, they had given me the one thing I didn’t know I needed: a reason.
A reason to rise.
If they wouldn’t give me respect, I’d take it.
And when I do, every one of them, every single one—will pay.
Storming back inside, I headed straight to Damien.
Just as I flung the door open, I stood in front of him. My breath fanned his face.
Wiping my face, I said clearly, “Help me get revenge on Kayla and Alex… and I’ll reconsider being your Luna.”
Hi Lovians, This wouldn't have been possible without u guys. Thank you so much. God bless u real good 💘💘I love you all. 💘💘💘💘
Damien’s POVI don’t know if it was instinct, but something deep inside me whispered that something was wrong.Even though she tried so hard to conceal it, everything was brought to light tonight. All through the night, as I took Scarlet again and again, she kept calling my name—and another.A name I couldn’t place. Maybe because of her accent, since she was not of our pure language. She had lived in some place before she grew up. Some place she cannot think of. But she was screaming another man’s name, while we were having sex—That was what unsettled me the most.It was her first time. I was certain of that. I saw the blood. I felt the truth in her body. She had never been with another man before me. So why would she whisper another man’s name in the heat of passion? As I lay awake beside her, watching her sleep naked and vulnerable, my thoughts refused to settle. The urge to find answers clawed at me, but I forced myself to ignore it.I didn’t realize when sleep finally took me.
Scarlet’s POVThe moon shone at its peak, his claws destroyed my designer white overflowing gown, ripping it off and tossing it across the room. I felt what seemed like an electric spark light up all over my body, causing my skin to burn a deep red. My whole body spun, my heart racing faster. I thought I could hold it all in. But with his hand trailing my thighs, hitting almost the edge of my core, I gasped in fear. “Damien,” His hand stopped abruptly, gently pulling off before I could say any more words. Fear was visible in his eyes, I could see. His hand trembled while I watched him take a step back. Not because of anything, but I'm sure he was traumatized. Not by me, but by something else…“Did I hurt you?” He asked, his face filled with something mixed with anxiety—more like worries. “I'm so sorry. I'm sorry. We can stop. If you don't want it now. Maybe—”“It's fine.” I quickly stepped in, controlling myself from appearing nervous in front of him. “C’mon, Scarlet. You cann
Scarlet’s POV“Oh, I was just talking about the bond I had with…um…”My voice trailed off, my mind scrambling for something, anything that wouldn’t destroy everything in one breath.“The former person that trained her at Theandor,” Joel cut in smoothly. The lie landed between us like a blade disguised as silk.I stiffened.A cold rush slid down my spine, sharp and unforgiving. Bile rose in my throat, thick and bitter, and no matter how hard I swallowed, it refused to go down. I was standing between two men who could rip my world apart with a single word.“I don’t get it…” Damien murmured. Before I could react, he pulled me closer, lowering his head slightly as he inhaled slowly, deliberately. His nose brushed against my hair, my neck, my shoulder.“And you haven’t changed?” he asked quietly. My breath caught.“No,” I said too quickly. “I just… feel a bit stuffy inside.”Damien didn’t let go. His hand tightened at my waist, not possessive, fearful.“Am I making you uncomfortable?” he
Scarlet’s POVDamien grabbed my wrist just as I bent forward, his grip firm but careful, his eyes immediately scanning me with concern while I tried to wipe the wine off my dress.“Scarlet, are you alright?” he asked, rising quickly to his feet. Before I could answer, he reached up, gently brushing damp strands of hair away from my face, wiping the droplets of wine from my temple. “It spilled all over you.”“I… um…”The words tangled in my throat. My gaze betrayed me, slipping past Damien, straight to Joel.He stood there, infuriatingly calm, his posture relaxed, his expression unreadable. As if nothing had happened. As if he hadn’t cornered me moments ago, hadn’t made my body forget who I was supposed to be.“It’s okay,” I said finally, forcing a smile that felt too tight on my face.Damien didn’t look convinced. He continued brushing at my hair, his touch gentle, protective. “I’ll ask the maids to bring you a fresh gown—”“No.”The word came out sharper than I intended.Every pair
Scarlet’s POV“Scarlet,” Damien called again, his voice steady but threaded with concern. My heart skipped a beat, and I felt the weight of my earlier actions press down like a storm cloud.I let my gown fall slightly, stepping back from Joel, but his hands closed around my waist before I could fully escape. He leaned in for a kiss, his eyes pleading. I struggled, pushing against him, trying to regain control. My hand was trembling against his chest. “…Can you hear that?” I asked, my voice trembling as the ring burned against my finger. I yanked it off, the heat searing my skin. Something was wrong, more than just the physical pain. It was as if the two bonds were pulling against each other, a clash of emotions that left me dizzy.“That hurts,” Scar finally whimpered, and I instinctively set the ring aside to let my body calm. My wolf’s voice, usually playful, now sounded worried, echoing my own inner confusion.A knock rattled the royal restroom door, making me flinch. “Scarlet, ar
