Jenna woke up rubbing her eyes as she realized she was in an unfamiliar surrounding. Panicking, she got up from the bed with confusion.

She groaned as she felt pains between her legs. Pains that reminded her about last night. Her eyes widened in shock as she recalled what she had just done but she wasn't regretting her action this time.

It was painful but she enjoyed every bit of it and she was willing to take that pain rather than to be at the mercy of her supposed fiance.

She got off the bed, knowing she had to get back to her room before her family would start searching for her.

“Ouch!” she mumbled, holding the bed as she felt much pain. Walking towards the door she stopped, remembering her family should not know about this, she panicked in fear as she thought of how to make sure this stranger did not look for her.

She rushed over to the bedside table as her eyes fell on a jotter and pen. She picked it up to drop a note for the strange man but was confused about what to write.

Finally, she came up with something…. “Thank you so much for last night and please do not look for me, this never happened.”

She dropped the note, took a deep breath, and moved carefully so as not to be seen by anyone. She hurried over immediately and when she got to her room, Kaya was already waiting for her.

“Where the hell have you been all night?” She asked in a worried voice.

“I ended up in someone else’s room,” Jenna replied, explaining in detail but was cut short by the buzzing sound of her phone.

“You should answer your father’s call already, everyone has been calling you ever since Damien told them he wasn’t going ahead with this marriage.” Kaya sneered.

“I will meet them at home,” Jenna replied, quickly changing into a white shirt and blue pants.

Picking up her stuff she hurried over immediately after she was dressed and when she got home she tried to sneak in but her father, stepmother, and step-sister were already waiting for her in front of the main building.

She tried to walk past them but was held back by her father who looked furious.

“You do not walk past me!” He snarled in rage. “You should explain this madness,” he added.

“I do not have an explanation to give. Damien called off the marriage and not me, why do I have to explain his infidelity?”

“And where the hell were you last night?” Her dad shot back at her.

“Dad, did you ask him why he didn’t show up for my dress fitting?” I went to his room and found him having an affair, he said the wedding was off and I left for my room. What was I supposed to do?” Jenna responded, staring daggers at her stepsister, Coty.

“You should have spoken to me first before he made the damn announcement!”

“Dad, he doesn’t want me okay, you should be happy he likes your precious daughter, Coty. So let him have her!”

“You do not make the decisions, young lady. This alliance means so much to my pack and my company. Nobody, not even your step-sister will ruin this treaty.” Do you understand me? He snarled in rage causing her to frighten in fear.

Confused, she stared at her family. “Did you already know about Damien and Coty being in a relationship?” she asked, searching their eyes one after another.

None of them said a word, confirming her fears as she felt betrayal wash over her.

“Everyone knew except me?” Jenna questioned as tears formed in her eyes.

“That is not important. What is important is that you are going to get married to him and fix this mess!” her father sneered.

Jenna broke down in tears, kneeling before her father. “Please, father. Do not give me away to someone who doesn't love me. I'll work harder to make sure the company doesn't go bankrupt. I will do everything you tell me, I will marry someone else. Just… just not Damien!”

“You don't understand, Jenna! Our pack will be in danger, I will lose my status and the company will crumble! Her father scowled. “Do you want your family to suffer? Me? Your stepmother and stepsister?”

“I will not end up with a man who hates me and is having an affair with my sister, she sniffed as she stood up to walk out.”

“Come back here, Jenna! Don't you dare walk out on me, she heard her father's voice which was more like a threat. “I order you! Stay put! Heed your Alpha!”

Her body instantly recognized her father's alpha command and her knees gave up, weakening with every step.

“No! Please!” Jenna begged. Tears welled in her eyes, admitting she was just her father's pawn.

“You will marry Damien no matter what it takes even if you have to live with your sister, I do not care! And that is final.” I have concluded with his father and your marriage is rescheduled in three weeks, do not try anything funny!” He added and walked out of the room.

Tears filled her eyes as she stared at Coty and her stepmom, Chloe with disgust but they had no remorse on their faces. She had done everything till this day to please her family but they chose to treat her like a slave, what hurt her the most was her father did not understand her but was only after his achievements and he wasn't going to let Coty marry Damien first because Coty wasn't his blood even though he loved her most, she was still a child her stepmother, Chloe had with her ex-mate before getting married to him.

One last look at Coty she picked up her bags and walked to her room as she curled up in her bed letting out her tears before she fell asleep.

THREE WEEKS LATER

All the days that led to her wedding day were hell for Jenna as she was restricted from leaving the house by her family.

Jenna recalled that night as every single moment kept replaying in her mind and she couldn't get them out of her head. She didn't know who that man was but her heart subconsciously treasured that night as it was the only nice, recent memory she had.

Her stepsister, Coty had gotten even more bitter recently and she made things more complicated for her.

“You seem to be happy on your wedding day, huh?” she heard Coty snort behind her jolting her back to reality and causing her to turn immediately.

“Is there a reason not to be?” Jenna fired back, staring at Coty’s cruel face. She could barely believe she was the person who played and laughed with her while growing up.

“You shouldn't be too happy yet, everything you own will be mine soon,” Coty snarled in rage. “Mom will soon be here,” she added with a smirk.

Jenna tried saying something but felt dizzy just like she had been feeling quite a few times lately. She tried to ignore it as she always did but this time around the dizziness refused to be ignored.

She could see the world in circles and it wasn't long before her vision dimmed and the last thing she recalled was Coty’s evil smirk.

*

A few hours later she woke up to the smell of chemicals and on a hospital bed.

“Who is the father!?” Jenna heard Coty shout as soon as the door was pushed open.

She raised her brow not sure what she meant by her words.

“Father of who?” she replied with a question as Coty rushed over to her and wrapped her hand around her neck.

“Don’t play with me, Jenna. Don’t even think that I won’t let everyone know about this! She growled, drawing out her fangs.

“Wh… what do you mean?” Jenna stuttered gasping for air.

“Did you seduce Damien to get you pregnant, you bastard!?” Did you go back to him that night he rejected you? Is he the father of that bastard inside of you!?” She yelled at Jenna whose eyes widened in shock.

How could…. How could I be pregnant!? It was just one time and I don’t even know him. Jenna’s body froze as different thoughts ran through her mind.

“I… I am pregnant?”

“You tell me, who the f*ck is the father!? Coty groaned, sending a slap across her face.

Tears ran down her eyes as she thought of the humiliation this would cause her if her father and every other person found out.

“I am going to make sure that bastard inside of you dies!” Coty yelled, jolting her from her thoughts. She was about to hit her again when they heard fast-approaching footsteps.

Coty paused, her brows arching but Jenna was not worried about whoever that was. She was only worried about the pup inside of her.

What am I supposed to do? It was just a one-night stand, how would I have a pup!?

The door of the ward suddenly opened and a servant ran in hastily.

“What’s wrong?” Coty asked hurriedly.

“The guests have arrived!”

The final bell rang, and students spilled out into the parking lot. Jenna walked out between Celeste and Mina, her blazer draped casually over her arm, trying not to look too stiff.“Your car’s this way, right?” Celeste tugged her toward the line of sleek vehicles at the far end of the lot. The blue Lamborghini gleamed in the late sun, already waiting.Mina whistled low. “Every time I see this thing, I remember how disgustingly spoiled you are.”Jenna smirked faintly, though Iris whispered in her mind. Smile. Aria always laughed when Mina teased like this.“Disgustingly spoiled?” Jenna echoed. “Please. I call it taste.”Celeste burst into giggles, shoving Mina lightly. “Don’t be jealous.”“Jealous?” Mina scoffed as they slid into the back seat. “I’m just waiting for my turn. Next life, I’m making sure I’m born an Alpha’s daughter.”Lexa growled under her breath. They have no idea what kind of daughters Alphas can raise.Jenna hid her grimace behind a smile. “I’ll make sure to leave yo

The necklace glimmered again that morning, catching the first sweep of sunlight through the window. Jenna’s hand hovered over it as she dressed in Aria’s school uniform, fingers brushing the star-shaped charm that rested against her collarbone. It was cool, almost icy, like it carried a memory all its own.She whispered under her breath, “Why can’t I stop noticing this thing?”Because it matters, Iris said quietly. Her mother gave it to her. A gift of protection. It should keep her safe.Jenna’s lips twisted. “Safe? She still died, didn’t she?”Silence filled her mind for a beat before Iris sighed. Some protections fail when betrayal comes from the inside. Lexa’s growl rumbled low. Exactly. Never trust anyone who smiles too widely. They all want something. The necklace has more than just protection. You will find it out in subsequent times.Jenna slipped on the blazer, letting the necklace peek out. “What could that be tho? Jenna wondered.”—––By the time the Lamborghini rolled thro

“Aria, sweetheart!”The door swung open, and the man who was supposed to be her father rushed inside. His suit jacket was half undone, tie loosened, but the joy on his was unmeasured. He pulled her into his arms before she could even react. The hug was crushing, warm, real.“My daughter,” he whispered against her hair. “You’re finally back.”Jenna froze for a second, stiff in his hold, her eyes darting to the desk where the sealed letter still sat. She forced herself to blink, mask sliding into place, and slipped her arms carefully around him.“Papa,” she murmured, the word foreign on her tongue but smooth enough to pass. His grip tightened. “You don’t know what this means to me. To have you here, walking through that door like you belong. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted.”Her chest ached. For a moment, she let herself sink into the warmth of that embrace. In her old life, her father’s arms had never been like this, not protective, not proud. Only cold commands and colder punishments

“Ariaaa, you’re not listening.”Cassia’s nails brushed Jenna’s sleeve like she owned it as soon as Alpha Ryker left the class, her perfume cloyed. “Sit with me. We’ll catch up, just like old times.”Jenna’s lips curved, but it was no smile. “Cassia.” Her tone sliced silk-thin, cool. “Do me a favor and keep your voice down. It’s giving me a headache.”Cassia blinked, faltering, then forced a laugh. “You haven’t changed, always so sharp. I love it.”Celeste smirked at Mina over Jenna’s head. Mina muttered just loud enough, “Sharp, sure. More like she’s done with you.”Cassia’s smile wavered. Jenna leaned closer, lowering her voice. “Tell me, Cassia… did you forget to iron your skirt this morning, or did your mother stop buying you decent ones?”The words landed like daggers. Cassia stiffened, color creeping up her neck. In her past life, Cassia flaunted diamonds, pearls, and arrogance like weapons. But here, Jenna noticed the seams on her shirt, the scuffed shoes, the cheap handbag dang

The Lamborghini purred to a halt before the looming gates of Melton College. Students crowded the iron archway, laughter and chatter spilling into the morning air. When the convoy rolled in, the noise hushed. Every head turned. Jenna’s pulse hammered against her ribs. Her fingers twisted her skirt, but she forced her face into calm perfection, the mask of Aria. “Miss Aria,” the driver said again, glancing back. “We’ve arrived.” Her throat tightened. She nodded once, the motion crisp, regal like Iris whispered in her mind. The door swung open. She stepped out, the sun catching the gloss of her hair, the uniform hugging her figure like it had been stitched for her alone. A ripple went through the crowd. “Is that…?” “Alpha Desmond’s daughter.” “She’s even prettier than the rumors.” “God, look at the car…” Jenna swallowed hard, spine stiff. She’d been stared at before but always with suspicion, envy, and hatred. Here, the eyes were reverent. Hungry. Worshipful. Lex

A shrill alarm ripped through her skull.Jenna shot upright, clutching her head. “What the fuck!” she hissed, slamming her hand against the screaming device until silence fell. Her chest rose and fell in ragged bursts. She blinked around wildly. This wasn’t her room.Soft curtains of cream and gold draped over massive windows. A chandelier glittered above. The bedspread wasn’t hers, silk, not cotton. She’d never owned anything this fine. Then came the knock. Rap-rap-rap.“Miss Aria!” a voice sang from the other side. “You’ll be late for school!”Her heart jumped to her throat. Miss Aria?Jenna scrambled out of bed, bare feet brushing a thick carpet. She caught sight of a mirror across the room and froze. Her reflection wasn’t her.A young woman stared back at her. Wide hazel eyes, porcelain skin, a jawline sharp as glass, glossy dark hair tumoring down her shoulders. She looked no older than nineteen, dressed in a lacy nightgown.Jenna’s lips parted. “What the hell…”Her hands flew ov
