To the rescue

Kaitlyn left her mate's office, almost shaking with fear. Lucius always had a twisted mind, but this sudden change was scaring the hell out of her. For the last five years, her life looked like a scenario written by a madman: torture, healing, and the same neverending questions. It was so repetitive that Kaitlyn got used to it at some point. There were days when she was afraid that she lost her mind because of how little she cared for her life. She had hoped all this nightmare would end one day when she wouldn't be able to take it anymore. But it did not matter, for as long as Demetria was safe.

Now, everything had changed. Lucius found their daughter or was close to finding her. There was no doubt something was different in his behavior. Even the torture stopped, which could only mean he did not need her answers anymore. If that was not enough, Lucius freed her from this monstrous trap that was her home for many years, provided her with new clothes, and forced her to eat together.
