Kaitlyn's eyes widened with fear. For the last five years, she had been going through hell when her mate let others beat and torture her, trying to get the information he needed. Even now, her body was covered with cuts and bruises after the last interrogation, and her eye was black and swollen. Lucius was very creative when it came to making someone suffer. Kylan was getting impatient. That was his outside attitude because, inside, he felt nervous and frustrated. All trackers from the pack were looking for his ex-mate, but she vanished in thin air. Kaitlyn left her mate's office, almost shaking with fear. Lucius always had a twisted mind, but this sudden change was scaring the hell out of her. For the last five years, her life looked like a scenario written by a madman: torture, healing, and the same neverending questions. It was so repetitive that Kaitlyn got used to it at some point. There were days when she was afraid that she lost her mind because of how little she cared for her life. She had hoped all this nightmare would end one day when she wouldn't be able to take it anymore. But it did not matter, for as long as Demetria was safe. Now, everything had changed. Lucius found their daughter or was close to finding her. There was no doubt something was different in his behavior. Even the torture stopped, which could only mean he did not need her answers anymore. If that was not enough, Lucius freed her from this monstrous trap that was her home for many years, provided her with new clothes, and forced her to eat together.

- Today is a big day.- Cassius announced during the breakfast. He looked really excited, and Demetria could not wait to find out what was the reason for that. During the last weeks, she was training under his watchful eye. To be honest, this was the main thing she had been doing since he found her, and sometimes the girl missed the lazy afternoons when she could only relax. But with her uncle, it was not an option. Cassius was against wasting time. He always reminded her she wasted enough during her stay in the pack. To some point, he could understand why her parents stopped her from training, but he still blamed them for not letting Demetria build her stamina, at least. She constantly whined and complained about how boring it was and how the flies were bothering her. Since her talk with Cassius, Demetria could not stop thinking about what her uncle had told her. Was it really possible she was somehow special, or was it just a strange coincidence?
