Danika’s Pov

Bound with rough rope, I watched helplessly as Jonah fought Darius. Every punch, every grunt, every drop of sweat felt like a blow to my own soul.

Darius — ever the cheat — was gaining the upper hand, and Jonah was slipping.

My heart pounded in my chest, frustration boiling over. I wanted to scream, to fight, to tear Darius apart with my own hands. But all I could do was watch — powerless.

Jonah’s breath grew ragged, his movements slowing. The sight of him crumbling under Darius’s brutal onslaught ignited a fire deep within me.

I didn’t know when I started chanting under my breath — a desperate litany.

I am a wolf. I am a wolf.

At first, it felt like a futile effort — a plea into the void. Silver, my inner wolf, had been gone for too long, and it felt like all hope had been lost.

But as I chanted, a spark ignited — a sensation I hadn’t felt in ages. It was like a long-forgotten part of me was waking up.

I am a wolf, I repeated — louder this time, not i

Jonah’s pov Since Danika left with Mila, my eyes were practically glued to the entrance door, and every time it opened, my expectations were dashed all over again. And then when she finally came back, I should’ve felt happy — relieved that she had returned — but I couldn’t. I’m not trying to tag her as insensitive, but
I thought since I was injured and admitted to the hospital, she’d be inclined to spend the whole day with me, clinging to me, not going anywhere. But what did she do? She just zoomed off the moment Mila asked her to go for a run. She seemed more excited to be with Mila than to stay by my side. She didn’t want to break her promise to her — fine — but what about me? She didn’t even care if I ate or drank water. No lunch, no dinner. My feelings didn’t matter. Maybe I didn’t even matter to her. Even when she spoke to me, her replies were short and careful — like she was afraid to upset me. I was a

Danika's pov Jonah had been so happy when he woke up; the plan to spend the whole day with him had added to that happiness. But now that happiness had been replaced by a certain worry — and an ache that someone might leave him. It wasn't like I had intended to hurt Jonah. Mila had asked to see my wolf, and I had agreed. Now it seemed my actions had upset Jonah. I didn't want to see him hurt, but I had to keep the promise I made to Mila — and at the same time pacify my big, grumpy mate. I lingered by Jonah's bedside, my hand resting gently on his. "Look, I'll be back soon, okay? Even before you know it," I murmured, searching his eyes for reassurance. Jonah's grip tightened momentarily before he released my hand, his face a mix of frustration and resignation. "Sure," he muttered, looking away. I leaned in and pressed a soft kiss on his forehead. "I promise," I whispered, before stepping out of the room, leaving Jonah t

Jonah's pov Ever since I woke up, Danika's words kept replaying in my mind. As she confessed her feelings, I felt a powerful shift inside me. Her gratitude, her love — it all hit me hard. Her eyes, bright with unshed tears, held mine with such intensity that I was left breathless. The way she looked at me like I was her anchor made my chest tighten. I couldn't find my voice. Every attempt to speak was thwarted by the overwhelming surge of emotions her confession had stirred. Her words painted a picture of a love so fierce and unwavering that it took my breath away. Each sentence was a silent testament to the battles we had fought together, the moments of doubt and despair we had overcome. For once, I didn't have a witty comeback or a sarcastic remark — all I could do was hold her closer, hoping she felt the unspoken promise in my embrace. For once, I didn't have anything cle

Danika’s Pov “You never give up, do you?” I rolled my eyes at how silly he was right now, despite his condition. “Never. That’s not the way of a proud Lycan.” His smirk revealed sharp teeth, his eyes gleaming with a challenge. “I’ve done my part, Danika. Don’t go back on your words, so come here.” The command in his tone made my heart leap. He reclined with effortless grace, exuding an aura of authority, his gaze demanding my obedience. Without hesitation, I obliged, walking toward him and climbing onto the bed. “And maybe that’s exactly why I’m with you,” I said softly, nestling into his arms. “I need you to know something,” I added quietly. Taking a deep breath, I shuffled to find a comfortable position before facing him. “You’ve been my rock—my anchor in the storm. When I thought I couldn’t go on, it was your strength that kept me grounded. Your relentless spirit, your u

Danika’s Pov I sat down on Jonah’s hospital bed, feeling the full weight of my emotions after the meeting with Drake. I had anticipated it would be difficult, but the reality was far heavier than I had prepared for. Now, alone in the quiet room, waiting for Jonah, a wave of sadness and anger crashed over me — one emotion colliding into the next. The storm inside me was relentless. These weren’t sweet memories; they were painful. But even so, I told myself I shouldn’t be sad — not anymore. Drake had already taught me that even when the Moon Goddess herself bound two souls as mates, rejection could still happen. And if he could reject me so easily, why had I ever believed others wouldn’t do the same? Even my father — the one person I had once thought different — had betrayed me the moment I turned my back. Of course, a part of me still felt pity for them, for what had befallen them. But it wasn’t my place anymore to pick up those who had once broken me. I was in a new phase of my

Jonah’s Pov The last time someone—Jason—came to see her, she was captured. And now there was someone else asking for her. My eyes narrowed even more, and I gently pushed myself into a sitting position, even though my body screamed out in protest. “Who is it?” I inquired, my tone low and suspicious. “It’s
it’s Drake,” Shadow said hesitantly. “The Alpha of the Silver Tail Pack. He asked to see you, but I told him to leave. You weren’t awake, but he insisted on seeing Danika instead—since you weren’t around.” “Really?” I asked, my face scrunching up. “So if I were still unconscious, you would’ve allowed her to go and meet him?” I asked calmly, but deep down, jealousy started to gnaw at me. “Relax, Alpha. Nothing is going to happen to her. Besides, I’ll be there to watch them—” My gaze snapped toward him, sharp and chilling enough to freeze him mid-sentence. The silence that followed was thick and heavy. My look said everything—he was one word away from disaster. “Tell him to l
