Chapter twenty

Elora's POV

I jerked, looking like my bones would run out of my skin. The alarming sound vibrated my whole system as it came unexpectedly and looking towards it, I found Danica staring at me with disgust in her eyes.

It felt like she was the predator while I was the prey. Her heated gaze could burn me up and the more she walked in, the more I shifted backward in fear.

“I see, you are in this nice-looking room looking settled when you know your spot is quite temporary. Why do you feel at home when I am here now?” She said to me with a hint of sarcasm in her tone, while all I could do was stare at her.

“You know, this place used to be my room before I left and Devlin had to give it to you. Damn, did he think you could replace me?” She kept running her mouth while sweeping her eyes all over the place.

Fear was still clinging to me. I could tell she was a violent type and even though she was pregnant she had quite an attitude for someone who was carrying another life inside her.
