BrinleyRemaining on a single bent knee in front of me, Marku intently studied my expression. "Are you ready?"I wasn't sure that I would ever be ready. Coal had no idea the true extent of my torture at the hands of brutal shewolves. I had told him only the basics,glossing over the details. At the time, Coal was preparing to fight Alpha and it would have put him at a disadvantage for him to know more. He didn't need the added stress of knowing the torment I faced as a pup. But he would see the truth now in all of its ugly glory, and I wasn't at all sure the big vampire was correct in assuming Coal's Wolf could be contained. But it couldn't be avoided. Coal would have to know at some point. Now was the time.Taking a slow breath in, I nodded.Immediately, I felt a strange sensation, pressure inside my mind, tangible and uncomfortable. Automatically rejecting the invasiveness, my muscles locked up. I hunched forward and my eyes fell shut. My Wolf whined her discomfort. She felt it too.
