Ava's POV

I had been in Isabelle's room long enough to eat her snacks, rearrange her throw pillows twice, and have the same circular conversation with myself about going upstairs approximately six times.

I was on my way to the door for the seventh time — genuinely this time, I had decided — when I opened it and found Sebastian standing on the other side with his hand raised to knock.

We both went still.

"What part of I do not want to speak with you did you not understand?" I said.

"Every part o

  • Rejected Once, Now Claimed By The Lycan    The Truth Will Come Out

Author’s POVThe doctor left quickly, promising to return within hours with the right medication. The room went quiet in his absence.Isabelle sat on the floor beside the bed where Ava was sleeping, her hands in her lap, her mind running through the afternoon in order. Every moment. Every detail.Sebastian stood at the window with his back to her. He had not moved since the doctor left. His hands were at his sides and his shoulders were completely still in the particular way of a man holding something very large very carefully."What did she eat today?" he asked finally.Isabelle looked up at him.The question was quiet. Controlled. That was what frightened her most about it."Breakfast this morning," she said slowly. "A steak at lunch. The spa gave us water and fruit." She paused. "And apple juice. This morning, before we went out. Sandra brought it."Sebastian turned from the window."Sandra.""She brought three glasses on a tray. When I reached for one she moved the tray and gave t

  • Rejected Once, Now Claimed By The Lycan     Poisoned

Ava's POVI watched Jackson stand up from the table and walk out with his face covered. He had seen me. I had seen him. And then he had left.I sat with my hands in my lap and let out a slow breath. He was not here to cause a scene. He was here to plan. Which meant whatever he was intending to do was still coming — just not today.I did not tell the guards. I was not sure why. Maybe because telling them meant telling Sebastian and I did not know yet what Sebastian would do with the information and I did not want to spend the evening watching two powerful men circle each other again.I ordered food and ate it quietly and let the afternoon move around me.---Isabelle found me outside a bookshop at three in the afternoon and linked her arm through mine like she had been looking for me specifically."Spa," she said. "Edwin has a meeting and I refuse to go back to that palace before the sun goes down."We spent two hours being handled by people whose entire job was to make other people fe

  • Rejected Once, Now Claimed By The Lycan     Jackson Returns

Ava's POVI caught Sebastian leaving the room fully dressed, his silver hair pulled back from his face for once, giving him a different look — sharper somehow, more exposed."Where are you going?" I asked."Company meeting." He crossed to me immediately and reached for my waist.I stepped sideways before he could get there."There are maids in the corridor," I said."I am aware.""Sebastian —""They know you are my mate." He followed me one step. "They all have mates. None of them are scandalized by the concept of two people touching each other.""They do not do it in the corridor.""That is because they are not me." He smiled and tucked his hands into his pockets instead, conceding the point without appearing to concede anything. "I am going to be gone for a few hours. What will you do?""Come with you," I said immediately. He looked at me."It is boring here," I said. "Isabelle is with Edwin. Sandra —" I stopped. "I just want something to do."He tilted his head. "You have a phone."

  • Rejected Once, Now Claimed By The Lycan    The Morning After

Ava's POVThe pain faded faster than I expected.Sebastian kept his pace slow, watching my face constantly, adjusting at the smallest sign of tension. His hands moved between us, keeping the pleasure building alongside everything else, and gradually the discomfort dissolved until there was nothing left of it.Just warmth. Just him. Just the overwhelming closeness of another person who was paying complete attention to every part of me.I looked down once and realised he was barely halfway in.The realisation landed with some force.I could see it on his face — the deliberate restraint, the careful control of a man actively choosing not to take what he wanted because he was more concerned with not hurting me. It was written in the tightness of his jaw and the set of his shoulders and the way his breathing was more uneven than he would probably have liked me to notice.I lifted my hips.He froze immediately and pulled back to his original position."No," he said."I want everything," I s

  • Rejected Once, Now Claimed By The Lycan    Gentle

Ava's POVHe pulled back just before I reached the edge.I made a sound I was not proud of."Sebastian —""Not yet," he said, and the look on his face was entirely too pleased with himself for someone who had just done something deeply inconsiderate. Before I could form a proper complaint he hooked his fingers into the sides of my underwear and tore them clean off.I stared at him."Those were mine.""I will buy you more." His eyes moved over me with an expression that made the complaint dissolve before it fully formed. He parted my legs and lowered his head and I stopped thinking about the underwear entirely.I had always privately decided that this particular thing was not for me. It had seemed strange and clinical and unnecessary and I had filed it away under the category of things I would politely decline when the time came.Sebastian dismantled that opinion within thirty seconds. There was nothing strange about it. There was nothing clinical. There was only his mouth and his hand

  • Rejected Once, Now Claimed By The Lycan    First Time

Ava's POVI had not planned to kiss him.Or rather, I had planned not to — and then I had done it anyway, and now I was standing in the middle of his room with my heart going entirely too fast while he looked at me like I had just handed him something he had been waiting for without knowing how to ask."I'm sorry, I just —"His mouth found mine before I finished the sentence. The first kiss had been mine — quick, impulsive, barely a breath. This one was his, and it was none of those things. He kissed me slowly and with complete attention, one hand at my waist drawing me in, and the noise in my head that had been running constantly since breakfast — the pregnancy, the elders, the timeline, all of it — went quiet.Entirely quiet. His hands moved upward and I felt them through the thin fabric of my top, warm and certain, and I realised somewhere in the back of my still-functioning mind that I had not bothered with a bra when I dressed this morning in Isabelle's room.Sebastian realised t
