Chapter Five

{Hailey’s POV}

His face was so close to mine that I could almost hear his breathing. My mind was stuck processing what he just said.

‘Why don’t I show you that myself?’

What the heck was he talking about?

I stared at his face and saw him smirking at me like he had won something. I didn’t know why, but I suddenly got irritated, seeing how arrogant he looked. He must’ve thought that he got the control.

I crossed my arms over my chest, looking at him challengingly.

“You know, trespassing is a crime, right?”

He tsked. “No rules or law can stop me. I only make them, but it doesn’t apply to me.” I really hate how smug he sounded.

I scoffed, shaking my head in disbelief. “You don’t deserve to be an Alpha, then.” I spit the words out like venom, my eyes glaring daggers at his pitch-black ones. “A great leader should make a good example for his people. If a leader can’t even abide by the rules, how could you expect your people to be loyal to those rules? Being an Alpha doesn’t make you a God.
