ALEKSANDER VON SINCLAIR

ALEKSANDER HAD BEEN alarmed. Seeing Claire's eyes turn red like a wolf's was surprising because he knew that she had never exhibited any signs that she had a wolf.

Then seeing her walk mechanically, like she was possessed had almost made him crash out. He had wanted to grab her and take her back to the mansion, but his brother who was the more level-headed one held him back and told him to just watch and see what was going on.

They had followed her to the stream where Alek came upon a sight he had never thought possible before.

Every member of his pack had shifted and was just lounging around, waiting for Claire to arrive. He held his breath in his chest as she walked closer to the wolves. They all stood up in reverence.

"Have you ever seen anything like this?" Alek asked in a whisper.

Joram shook his head without saying anything. They watched as Claire held on to the little children and released their wolf spirit, making them shift for the first time. "She

ALEKSANDER VON SINCLAIRAleksander could see the way Claire's pupils dilated as she looked up at him. There was something different about her tonight.Without thinking, he reached out and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. His fingers lingered against her skin, brushing lightly against her cheek. He felt her lean into his touch. It was a silent invitation that sent his heart racing.Quickly he closed the distance between them. With their lips just inches apart, the world around them faded into the background.“Claire,” he murmured. She responded by tilting her head slightly in request. In one swift motion, Aleksander captured her lips with his. It started gently, a soft exploration that quickly continued into something more passionate. Claire melted against him, her hands finding their way to his shoulders as she pressed herself closer. He deepened the kiss, allowing his instincts to take over, pouring his emotions into every movement. He took his time, enjoying the movemen

CLAIRE VON SINCLAIRI WOKE UP the following morning, feeling better than I ever had all my life. I ran my hand across the bed, expecting it to be empty, but to my utmost surprise, Alek was there. Still sleeping.I smiled and sat up before turning to look down at him. He looked very peaceful in sleep. He rolled over and his face turned away, exposing his neck, and my bite was red on his skin. I marked him. He was mine. I leaned down and pressed a kiss to the spot, taking in his scent before I stood up.I felt stronger than I ever had in my entire life as I went to the bathroom to wash up. I stared at myself in the mirror and smiled when the red color in my eyes swirled to the surface and receeded. That confirmed that last night's events were not a dream. It had all happened. My wolf spirit had woken up, and although I could not yet shift into my wolf form completely, I was happy that I had her.As I dressed up after cleaning up, I suddenly felt a strange wave of emotions - worry and an

ALEKSANDER VON SINCLAIRTHE AROMA OF food woke Alek up from slumber, and the first thing he did was to rub his neck where Claire had bitten him in the heat of last night's moment. He went to the mirror and looked at the spot. It was red and the outline of her teeth was in stark contrast against his complexion. He did not understand the concept behind marking one's mate. How did that change the bond between them? Was there anything new now? Would he be able to read her mind? He chuckled dryly at the thought. He took a quick bath and went downstairs where the aroma of food came from. It was an aroma He had not gotten in a very long time, it took him back to his childhood. He could hear Claire's voice talking with Joram. "- I am a woman of surprises.""Who are you surprising?" He asked.Claire turned and her face brightened in a while smile as she saw him. "You," she answered with a wink as she went to the kitchen."She's making breakfast," Joram said to Alek.Alek snorted as he sat down

CLAIRE VON SINCLAIRGRAN KATE'S WORDS kept resounding in my head as I walked out of the mansion. She had warned me not to allow Alek to meet with Logan - for Logan's safety. But how was I to prevent that, when Alek was hellbent on visiting my former pack?Would the fact that Logan had warned me beforehand about my mother's plan put him in Alek's good books when they met? I didn't think so.I sighed forlornly, taking in the early morning sun. The pack was quiet, but it felt alive. There was a calm radiance that filled the atmosphere - and it was because I had stepped up to become their Luna and reconnect them with their wolf spirit and the moon goddess.I saw a small lump in the grass, and on further inspection, I saw that it was a child, one of the newly shifted pups. He was naked and curled up, sleeping soundly in the grass.I was sure that he had fallen asleep, exhausted as a wolf last night, and had not known when he had shifted back into human. I smiled and carried him up gently.

CLAIRE VON SINCLAIRTHE LAST FEW DAYS passed very quickly. Alek had been preoccupied with getting in touch with the vampire - whom I had not seen again since our first weird meeting, while Joram had been getting things ready for our journey. A journey that I dreaded.I wasn't sure I was ready to look into the faces of the people who had scorned and humiliated me. How would I behave? What if they humiliate me again?"Claire."I turned and saw Joram come into the study. "Some of the people are here to tell you goodbye."I sighed and nodded. We were leaving today. I wrapped the shawl around my neck and followed Joram out."Luna," Elizabeth came forward and hugged me. Since the moon howl, everyone had gotten more free, coming into the mansion to see me as they pleased. It was becoming just like a pack house."We heard that you were traveling today," Ryana said. I nodded. "We are going to my father's pack." I saw that Elizabeth's smile dampened slightly as she heard what I said. I must

LOGAN MILLER"LOGAN," BRUCE YELLED from the office. Logan frowned. "What is it?" He asked, coming in."You should hear this," Bruce said."This had not better be about making that rogue the leader of my pack warriors," Logan muttered. "Because it is not going to happen.""But it is the best thing to come over our differences," Bruce said. "You know how the pack is divided now. Making Bastian the leader will -""What was it you called me for?" Logan cut in.Bruce sighed. He wanted to press his point further, but he gestured to the phone and said, "I just got a call.""From?" Logan asked."The secret pack that we wanted to do business with months ago," Bruce explained."Yeah, I told you to cancel everything with them," Logan said. He started to walk out of the office."Wait," Bruce said. "They did not call to talk about the business. They told me something else...""What is it?""You might want to sit down for this," Bruce said."Speak.""I was told that their alpha is on the way here

CLAIRE VON SINCLAIR I WAS LEANING in Aleks's arms, staring out the window at the changing scenery. We were getting into the surroundings of my former pack. I was starting to recognize the places.I sighed, content."What is on your mind?" Alek asked, his breaths fanned my ears."Nothing," I said, relaxing even more. "I am just wondering the things that will have changed...""Do you know how you are going to address your mother?" He asked.I shook my head. "I will address her the way she addresses me." I sighed again."I will be with you," he muttered, pressing a kiss to the side of my face."I know you will," I replied. I sat up as the cars slowed down and swerved into a small footpath through the woods. "We are close, the patrol guards must have already seen us and alerted our arrival to them."Alek snorted. "I did not even want this to be a surprise to them. I told Joram to call before we got there to tell them we were coming.""Do they know it is me?" I asked. He shook his head. "

BASTIAN WAS STILL shocked at the appearance of Claire at the pack, and he was even more scared when he saw her husband, standing like a brooding shadow behind her. So when Logan had told him to excuse their meeting, it had been his pleasure to do so. He could not miss the look that Claire's Lycan husband gave him. As Bastan hurried out, he knew his life had just been put in danger. The Lycan had traced him here. He hurried through the street until he came to a beautiful cabin on the edge of the residential area of the pack. He knocked once and walked in. Ruth was in the bedroom, scantily dressed like she was waiting for him. He looked at her dress lazily and sighed heavily. "You have no idea what is going on, do you?" She shook her head. "Take off your clothes and come and join me." She said. "Who knows when next you will find the time to come." "Get up, Ruth," Bastian muttered, sitting down on the bed. "Lie down, Bastian," she said seductively running her hand across his

CLAIRE VON SINCLAIRI DID NOT see Joram for the rest of the day after his outburst in the dining room. "I can't find Joram," I said to Alek in his office. He waved me in. As I walked in, I realized that I had never really been inside this man cave. It always felt off-limits, and I did not have many things that would need me to be here.It was a large, white oval room, dimly lit. It was like an entire apartment on its own, with couches, a large mahogany desk at a corner with his leather chair behind.I counted two tables with bottles of whiskey and Scotch. There was also a mini bar at the far end of the room."You look surprised," Aleks's voice drew me from my reverie."I have never been in here," I replied. He chuckled and stood up. "You are welcome here anytime." He said. "In fact, we should build an office for you too. You will be handling the affairs of your people there.""My people," I scoffed. "Like they are not also your people.""I would like the office to be close to mine,"

LOGAN MILLER HE WAS STUNNED beyond words. As he left Ruth's house, he heard her last sentence ringing in his head. She said she knew things. Was this one of those things? Knowing that he wanted to protect Claire and hide Bastian's body further away. But how had she known? Was it even possible to stay a step ahead of them? These questions flooded Logan's head. He could feel a migraine start as he walked through the woods. Well, the situation could still be salvaged, he muttered to himself. He could just try and avert it. If only he and Bruce and maybe a few other men knew, he could just shrug it off. He got to the strong stream and crossed it without any issues. They had gone out of the territory now. How had the men even found the body? What made them come this far in their search? It could not be that they followed a scent. He shook his head. Every scent was washed away by the current and air updraft of the stream. So what gave them the idea? As he came upon the scene,

BRUCE AND HIS man walked for almost half an hour without seeing anything. Bruce was starting to feel this plan slip through his fingers every minute they walked without finding the spot."That bitch could have been more specific," he snarled under his breath, flopping onto a rock. "We might start to head north now. We will walk at an angle, so we will meet with the others in the middle, then we will search the area together again."The man nodded and sat down. They were close to the stream. Bruce sighed and looked around. He was tired, and could not imagine the energy required to carry the rogue all the way out here, and then bury him, and go back without anyone seeing or noticing anything."Beta...""Yeah?" Bruce looked at his companion who was dipping a foot in the fast flowing stream."You know that if your plan works, Claire would be hurt too," He said.Bruce cocked his head and noted that his companion was the youngest out of the three. "Yes. I am aware of that." He replied."I t

BRUCE HURRIED AWAY from the pack. He crept behind a thick tree and watched as Logan went into Ruth's house. They had agreed to stalk Logan for as long as possible so he would not suspect where Bruce had gone. When Bruce was sure that Logan had gone in and was being occupied by Ruth, he continued his journey farther away into the woods, heading west. After almost half an hour was brisk walking, he came across the Tibet stream. It was a fast-flowing stream that was quite wide. As he looked at it and tested the current, he wondered how the Lycan had carried the body across.Using a stick, he tested how deep the water was, and luckily, it was not deep as it was only a couple of feet deep and would reach up to his knee, but even with the shallowness, the current of the water was able to sweep him off his feet."Beta?" Bruce turned to see 3 men of average build coming towards him. "Luna Ruth sent us, she told us to do as we were told without asking questions."Bruce nodded. "What we are go

BRUCE KNEW THAT something was up, and to his dismay, It seemed like Logan was starting to catch up on everything that was going on behind him. It had come as a terrible surprise when Fiona found out that she was pregnant, and it was very obvious that he was responsible, not Logan.Their plan had been to just manipulate Logan and make him fuck Fiona without condoms or pulling out, so they could easily blame the pregnancy on him. But the plan did not work out perfectly and Logan did not bite. It was like he saw through their plan and refused to sleep with Fiona.Bruce was going to try and convince Fiona to try and abort the baby. It sounded bad, but it would be worse if Fiona suddenly gave birth and the child looked nothing like the alpha. He walked into the pack house. He knew Logan had been on a call with someone. He suspected that it was Claire, and there was something he was keeping secret. He peeked out the window to make sure he was not followed. Then he put the earpiece to his e

LOGAN MILLERLOGAN AND BRUCE walked out. By now, the news that Bastian was missing had gone around the pack. Some people were glad that the rogue responsible for attacks on them months ago was gone, while some were worried. They wondered how the veteran warrior like Bastian could just disappear, and how safe they were. Some of them shared the same views as Bruce and were already suspecting that it was the Lycan clan that visited that was responsible for the abduction."How are his people holding up?" Logan asked."As they should," Bruce answered. "They are worried, some are scared. They have recorded a large amount of deaths in the past few months. Their male population has been reduced to a very few.""Those are not our faults," Logan muttered. He wanted to say it was Ruth's fault for sending them against Claire, and the Lycans. In fact, everything that happened was Ruth's fault.First, she manipulated him into dumping Claire, and then making the whole pack share in her hatred for Cl

LOGAN MILLERLOGAN FINGERED THE card that Claire had given to him. He enjoyed the texture and read the address to himself. He knew the place, it was a secluded expanse of woods uphill. So that was where the Lycan and his clan were residing. The door to his office opened and he turned around to look at Bruce. "Any news?" He asked. They had been looking for Bastian for hours, but it seemed like the rogue just disappeared into thin air. Bruce shook his head and sat down on the couch. "Ruth is going nuts." He said, looking at Logan. "Is there something I should know that I don't?"Logan chuckled and shook his head. He was constantly amazed at how tricky and deceptive Bruce was turning out to be. If he didn't know better, he would think that Bruce was also ignorant of everything. But he knew better. He knew that Bruce knew about the affair between Ruth and Bastian."Earth to Logan..." Bruce snapped his fingers.Logan shook his head. "Sorry. What did you say?""I was only just wondering wh

CLAIRE VON SINCLAIRI HAD BEEN about to leave the table to go and speak with Joram about how he was feeling before Lucia showed up at the door. She looked at Alek briefly before looking at me and saying, "I have not had breakfast. Can I join the table?"I paused chewing, wondering if I had heard properly. I felt Alek stiffen beside me too. Lucia raised an eyebrow at me and I heard Alek's voice float into my head, telling me that it was my decision to make. What could go wrong? I asked myself. "Of course, Lucia," I said. "You can join us for breakfast."I could feel Aleks's disagreement. But he had said it was my decision, and I made it."Are you sure that is a good idea?" He asked me.I did not take my eyes away from her as Lucia came towards the table and took a seat close beside Alek. The nerve of the woman, I gritted inwardly while I kept my face emotionless."Thank you, Luna Claire," she said and I did not miss the mocking sarcasm laced in her words. ALEKSANDER VON SINCLAIRHE WAS AT peace as he washed and dried his face. He took a wet napkin and went to Claire. He wiped her black where a dried streak of blood had come from where he bit her."Did you mark me?" She asked, chuckling."I think so," he replied. He opened a bandaid and covered the place."I thought you didn't believe in any of those things," she said. He chuffed. "I didn't believe in many things before I met you. Love, for one." He said, pressing a kiss to her head."You made me believe in love." He walked away to dispose of the napkin before she could respond. She softly touched the bandaid on her neck with her finger. "Why do you treat it like an injury?" She asked."Because that is what it is," he muttered, shrugging on a shirt. "And I do not want it to get infected."She laughed and ripped the bandaid off, making it bleed again. "I am not that fragile." She said. "I am a werewolf... even though my wolf is dormant.""I hear you," He smirked. "See? You're bleeding a
