Chapter thirteen

She stared at me, and I smirked slightly. "What’s wrong? Didn’t you challenge me earlier? I’m only accepting your challenge, darling. Don’t you forget that." I reminded her, and she swallowed as she stared at me.

"It’s fine, Alpha." Say whatever you want to me and whenever you want to say it, but I know one thing, and that’s certain: you won’t ever hurt me, not intentionally at least. Even if you’re not in love with me, I know that the mate bond is strong, and it won’t let you hurt me, not ever." She told me, and I clenched my fists.

Hearing her speak, it felt like she was responsible for all the pain I usually felt within my wolf every time I hurt her. I gritted. "You wouldn’t want to put that to the test, Cora. That is certain." I told her, and she chuckled slightly.

"Never mind, alpha. You’ll come to admit sooner rather than later that you can’t hurt me. We’re destined to be together." She put her hand on my chin as she slowly caressed it. I clenched my fists even harder. What was
