Eva's POV.

I'd been taking long strolls every evening since I got my wolf, making up for all the time I spent locked away inside the house, hiding from the world and its vicious whispers. Now, the whispers no longer pierced me. They couldn’t. Not when I had finally broken through the one thing that held me back.

I was just returning from one of those walks when I spotted him Nicklaus.

He stood just outside the house, dressed in a simple black shirt that hugged his torso a little too perfectly, as though it had been designed with only him in mind, and the look in his eyes when they settled on me made my heart flutter in the exact same way it did the first time he ever touched me.

“There you are,” he blurted. “I was just about to leave.”

I tilted my head. “Leave? Where to?”

“The elders summoned me for a meeting.” He shrugged lightly.

A meeting?

“Can I come?” I asked almost immediately, curiosity sparking in me.

He looked at me for a moment, then smiled. “Of course, I was waiting for you

  • Rejected and Banished; The kids are his.   Chapter hundred and fifty one.

Eva's POV.We walked hand in hand under the early evening sky as we made our way home from the elders’ chambers. I couldn’t stop thinking about the way he looked at me when I spoke for him back there. He was surprised, no... stunned, more like. And then proud; It warmed me in places I didn’t even know could feel warmth. My thumb gently traced the back of his hand as we walked. He gave it a little squeeze in response, the smallest of gestures, but one that sent a rush of something sweet through my chest. But just as we approached the corner before the main path to the mansion, the air seemed to change, and it wasn't long before I noticed why. It was him.Aragorn. Leaning casually against one of the trees nearby, his arms crossed over his chest like he was waiting for us.Nicklaus tensed beside me, his grip tightening just slightly, but enough for me to notice.“Well, well,” Aragorn’s voice rang out, slow and mocking. “What’s this? A stroll after a private meeting with the elders? Wi

Eva’s POVThe door slammed shut behind Nicklaus, and I stood still for a moment, listening to the distant sound of his boots against the floors until it disappeared completely. He had some errands to run, pack business he didn’t really go into detail about, but that wasn’t what occupied my mind.I had somewhere to be too. Somewhere long overdue. The image of Lady Isabella’s smug face flashed in my head like a ghost refusing to be exorcised. Alonzo’s mocking laughter replayed in my head. They were the two people who found joy in reminding me, at every turn that I was nothing without a wolf; and they also took it upon themselves to filter out the rumors about it that almost cost me my marriage. But things had changed.I was no longer the woman they tried to bury under shame because I refused to dance to their tune. I had a wolf now. Not just any wolf... an Alpha wolf. One that they could never play down on ever again, and it was time they saw it. Time they knew that their worst nightma

Eva's POVThe moment the gasps tore through the air like lightning bolts, I bolted. My paws pounded the earth so fast I could barely feel the ground under me. I didn’t care who was still watching, what their stunned faces looked like, or what they were whispering in their heads. I just wanted to run. To feel it again. The wind tore through my fur as I raced deeper into the woods, the moonlight filtering through the trees in scattered beams. It was like the forest opened itself up to me, and right behind me, was Nicklaus. His heavy paws striking the ground as he kept up, matching my pace with ease. His presence behind me felt like a tether. A grounding force that made me feel safe.We ran. For minutes. Maybe longer. I didn’t even know how far we went. I didn’t care. I was so high on the feeling of freedom, of finally being whole, that nothing else mattered. Not the rumors. Not the stares. Not the years I spent hiding in shame. I had a wolf. And I was running wild with the man who love

Eva's POV.I stood in front of the mirror, fastening the last button of my blouse, hands trembling ever so slightly even though I tried to act calm. My heart had been dancing in my chest all day, and the closer it got to nightfall, the faster it beat.Tonight was the night. No more hiding. No more shame. No more whispering wolves who pointed at me and asked, “Why does she even call herself Luna if she can’t shift?”They were about to see me shift. And not just into any wolf. A damn Alpha wolf.I was still adjusting to the reality myself. Sometimes, it still felt like a dream, that night in the woods, Nicklaus’s had confessed his love for me, and that triggered my wolf; I’d replayed the memory so many times since then.A pair of strong arms suddenly slid around my waist from behind, dragging me gently out of my thoughts.I smiled instantly. “Took you long enough,” I whispered as Nicklaus nuzzled his nose into the curve of my neck, his bare chest warm against my back.“Admiring you from

Eva's POV.The wind brushed past my face as I ran, no, leapt.. through the forest with my new limbs, my paws pounding against the soil like I was born for this.I couldn’t stop.I didn’t want to stop. For the first time in my twenty-two years of existence, I knew what it meant to be whole. The strength in my legs, the clarity in my vision, the way my hearing sharpened and the cold air didn’t bother me at all, it was all new, and all mine.My heart galloped in rhythm with my paws, beating hard in my chest with pure euphoria.I was no longer the wolfless girl.No longer the mockery of the pack.No longer the girl hiding in silence and shame.I was a wolf. Not just any wolf, an Alpha wolf as Nicklaus who's seen my wolf had said. The highest ranking wolf, the most respected.I had wished for as small as an omega Wolf, but moon goddess had other plans for me. I really can't wait to see the look on people's faces when they finally set their eyes on my wolf. Now I don't have to run away an
