Selina's POV. "Move faster, you sluggish little thing!" The chief maid growled at me, roughly poking me at the back as we proceeded towards the Beta Nicholas's house, with a few of the other selected house maids, like myself. It was the third day of the week, and ofcourse cleaning up the pack's Alpha and Beta's houses was a task never to be skipped. Despite the hose mistress's vile words, I was extremely overjoyed to be picked among the bunch of maids to clean up Beta Nicholas's house instead of the Alpha's house. Alpha Malik was my worst nightmare. I've avoided him like plaque all my life, it has been rumored that he detests weak people, all he wanted was active subjects who would protect the pack even in his absence. While the policy was undoubtedly admirable, it did however not favour people like me who was born weak. In order to avoid further humiliation, I tried my possible best to stay off his path no matter what it takes; which has been pretty easy because what exactly

Selina's POV. I sat coiled up on my tiny old couch, my elbows rested on my knees, my fingers tangled in my hair, and my mind refused to settle. Alpha Malik… my mate? The words didn’t even feel real in my head, yet every time I thought of the way my hand had brushed his, the truth weighed on me heavily, that spark hadn’t been my imagination, that pull in my chest wasn’t some foolish infatuation. It was the mate bond... the undeniable tie the Moon Goddess herself chose. But why me? The thought made my stomach twist. The Moon Goddess doesn't make mistakes, everyone said so… but pairing someone like him... an Alpha, powerful and wealthy, with me? A maid who barely scraped by, who owned two dresses and a pair of worn out shoes, It didn’t make sense. If anything, someone like Chloe fit his world perfectly. She had beauty, and a position in the pack’s upper ranks. She was already invested in him, clinging to him every second. And me? I had nothing to offer. No. I need to sta

Selina's POV. I racked desperately through my wardrobe searching for a suitable dress, how didn't I think of this before now? Malik is taking me to go see his parents and I wanted to look presentable and someone outside of a servant. I had no other dress aside my maid uniforms which were rags and there was no way I'm letting myself be introduced to Malik's parents and my future in-laws wearing that. I can't believe how fast everything is pulling along, and soon enough, Malik and I will get married and I'll move from being the lowly maid to the pack's Luna. A sudden gentle knock on the door pulled me out of my chain of thoughts. I hurried my steps towards the door and pulled it open only to behold the strange face of a young man, surprisingly, he had a warm smile on his face. "Greetings from Alpha malik, he wants you to have this," he said passing over a pretty looking bag to me. "It's a dress for you," he added. "Thank you," I nodded at him and made to lock the door, but surp

Selina's POV. I have never felt this way before. The sharp shred of loneliness and deep pain. I walked through the shadows of darkness on the wet grasses, heading to nowhere because my mind was blank. It was already late, aside from the pack members, I knew nobody and had no external relationship. I clenched my hands on my arms, pressing the cloak on my body as the cold was unbearable. "You keep walking like there's a destination in mind." Cora's voice came up and I cleared my throat, closing my eyes briefly. What does she expect from me? Stop walking and let the warriors of Blue Moon pack get a hold of me again and decide that banishment was a swift and painless punishment? I'd rather walk until I'm numb. "There's no destination, as a matter of fact Cora, I'll keep walking until Blue Moon pack is a million steps behind," I mumbled. I continued to drag my legs heavily through the woods, my eyes heavy and my head throbbing painfully but then I had no choice but to keep mo

Selina's POV. I stirred slowly awake as the morning sun filtered through the thin curtains of the guest room I’d been assigned. For once, I didn’t wake up in a cold sweat. I didn’t spring out of bed, panicking about punishment from the house mistress, Neither did I sleep in a dungeon as dark as hell. Instead, I blinked slowly into the light and listened to the unfamiliar but comforting silence of the Alpha’s estate. No scurrying footsteps. No snarls. No loud threats from the house mistress. Just stillness. I sat up, surprised to find my body less stiff, less burdened. The bruises were fading. The gash on my arm was now a pale line under a healing scab. But the wounds inside… well, those still whispered quietly every time I closed my eyes. A sudden soft knock came on the door, and I tensed. "Come in," I said cautiously. The door creaked open, and Declan stepped inside, In his arms, he carried a large woven basket wrapped in cloth. He wasn’t alone. Behind him stood an elder
