Liam’s POV

When I hear Coach Margaret announce the ten million dollar prize, my mind immediately starts racing with possibilities. Ten million dollars split among the team members would be enough to solve all of my financial problems. It would mean I could pay for my tuition, my living expenses, everything my father cut off when he kicked me out.

This could be the answer I’ve been looking for, a way to support myself without having to crawl back to my father and beg for forgiveness.

As soon as Coach Margret finishes his announcement and the initial excitement from the team starts to die down, I push my way through the crowd toward him.

“Coach,” I call out. “Can I talk to you for a minute?”

He turns toward me with a neutral expression. “What do you need, Liam?”

I take a deep breath, knowing this is probably a long shot but hoping he’ll at least consider my request. “I want you to add me back to the team so I can participate in this game and help us win the prize.”

Luna’s POVWe decided to look around the hallway maybe we will find the person who dropped the rose. We checked if there are any signs of who might have left the black rose. But the hallway is empty and quiet. Most students are probably still getting ready for their morning classes.“Do you see anyone suspicious?” Cassie asks, looking nervous.“No, but they could be watching us from anywhere,” I reply, still scanning the area. After searching for a brief while without finding any clues about who left the rose, I decide there’s no point in keeping it. I walk over to the garbage can at the end of our hallway and toss the black rose inside.“There,” I say. “I’m not going to let whoever is doing this think they’re scaring me.”But honestly, I am scared. The black roses, the razor blade letter, the threats, everything is getting more intense and dangerous.“We should go to the meeting now,” I tell Cassie. “Standing here worrying isn’t going to help anything.”Cassie still looks reluctant t

Luna’s POV The next morning, I wake up with my mind still stuck on the letter with black rose petals from last night. The memory of cutting my finger on those hidden razor blades makes me feel sick to my stomach. Even though we cleaned up all the blood and threw away the dangerous envelope, I can’t stop thinking about the threat it contained. Cassie is already awake when I sit up in bed. She’s sitting at her desk with her laptop open, looking worried and tired like she didn’t sleep well either. “I’ve been thinking about that letter all night,” I tell her as I get out of bed. “Me too,” Cassie replies without looking away from her computer screen. “Actually, I stayed up late doing some research about black roses.” “What did you find out?” I ask, though I’m not sure I really want to know. Cassie turns to face me with a serious expression. “Black roses have a really dark symbolic meaning. They usually represent death, endings, or revenge. Sometimes they’re used to threaten someone

Luna’s POVI reach for the envelope with shaking hands. “Let me open it and see what it says.”“Be careful,” Cassie warns, watching me closely.I try to slide my finger under the edge of the envelope to break the seal. But the moment my finger touches the edge, I feel a sharp, burning pain.“Ow!” I cry out, pulling my hand back quickly.Blood is running down my finger where something cut me. The cut is deeper than I expected, and it’s bleeding quite a lot.“Luna! What happened?” Cassie jumps up from her bed and rushes over to me.I look at the envelope more carefully and see something that makes my stomach drop. There are tiny pieces of metal, like razor blades hidden along the edges of the envelope under the black rose petals.“The envelope has razors on it,” I say, holding my bleeding finger. “Someone put razor blades on this letter.”Cassie’s eyes go wide with shock and fear. “That’s horrible! Who would do something like that?”She grabs some tissues from her desk and helps me wrap

Luna’s POVThe hotel room vision continues around me with scary clarity. I can see Alex moving closer to me, his eyes full of worry and something else I can’t understand. The anger I was feeling toward him starts to fade as he gets nearer.“Luna, please don’t leave,” Alex says softly, his voice gentle and pleading. “We can work through this together.”I feel my heart beating fast as Alex leans toward me. His face is getting closer and closer to mine. I can smell his familiar scent and see the concern in his eyes. Part of me wants to step back, but something keeps me frozen in place. Our faces are just inches apart now. I can feel his warm breath on my skin. Alex raises his hand slowly and touches my cheek. The touch feels so real and warm that I almost gasp.“I care about you more than you know,” Alex whispers. “Please give us a chance.”Before I can think about what’s happening, Alex starts leaning in to kiss me. My eyes start to close automatically. His lips are almost touching mine

Luna’s POVCassie leans forward with an enthusiastic expression. “You know what? Since you’re going to be back on the team soon, maybe we should all practice together this afternoon. It would be good to start getting back into sync before the official practices begin.”Liam shakes his head apologetically. “I appreciate the offer, but I actually have a lot of catching up to do. I’ve missed so much schoolwork while I was dealing with the family drama, and I need to talk to my professors about making up assignments and exams.”“That makes sense,” I say, understanding his situation. “You definitely need to get your grades back on track.”Dominic starts to open his mouth, probably to add his own thoughts about practice schedules or team preparation, but suddenly his attention is drawn to something across the cafeteria. We all follow his gaze and see Alex standing near the entrance, looking around the room like he’s searching for someone. For a moment, I think he might be looking for us, ma

  • Rejected and Claimed By The Alpha Hockey Stars    Chapter 122

Luna’s POVThe moment they’re gone, I feel like I can breathe properly again. The tension that was building in my shoulders starts to release, and I realize I was holding my breath without even knowing it.“Are you both alright?” Dominic asks, looking between Cassie and me with concern.“Yeah, we’re fine,” I reply, though my voice sounds a bit shaky even to my own ears.Dominic sits down at our table and shakes his head. “This ten million dollar prize has got everybody acting feisty and aggressive. People are taking this competition way too seriously.”He says it like it’s supposed to be a joke, but neither Cassie nor I are in the mood to laugh right now. The confrontation with Maya and Jaxon left us both feeling too shaken and worried to find humor in the situation.“I don’t think it’s just about the money,” I say quietly. “I think some people have personal reasons for wanting to beat us.”Dominic notices that his joke didn’t land well, and his expression becomes more serious. “You’r
