Liam’s POV

“Luna, what’s wrong?” I ask, moving closer to her. She’s standing completely still, her eyes wide with alarm as she scans the area around us.

“Can’t you hear that?” Luna whispers, her voice tense with worry. “There’s someone yelling. Listen carefully.”

Dominic, Cassie, and I all stop talking and strain our ears to hear what Luna is picking up on. At first, I don’t hear anything unusual.

“I don’t hear anything,” Cassie says quietly.

“Wait,” Dominic says, holding up his hand for silence. “Let me focus.”

We all activate our wolf senses, letting our supernatural hearing become more acute. Suddenly, I can pick up the faint sound of raised voices coming from somewhere behind the practice courts. The voices are distant but clearly angry, with two people having some kind of heated argument.

“I hear it now,” I confirm to Luna. “It sounds like two people arguing.”

“Should we check it out?” Dominic asks, looking in the direction the sound is coming from.

Luna nods, her expression sti

Luna’s POVAfter my teammates whispering died-down. I turned back to coach Magret to confirmed about what he meant. “Coach, can you please explained what you mean?”He nods with a smile. “What I mean,” Coach Margret explains, “is that the decision about whether to pursue further action against Maya is entirely up to you, Luna. You were the intended target of the poisoning, so you have the right to decide how this situation should be handled.”I stare at him in confusion. “I still don’t understand what kind of decision you’re asking me to make.”“It’s up to you whether you want the press and the public to know that a Rival Fangs team member attempted to poison you,” Coach Margret clarifies. “If you choose to make this information public, Maya will face serious consequences that go far beyond just being suspended from today’s game.”The weight of this decision hits me immediately. Making Maya’s actions public could ruin her reputation, her hockey career, and possibly even result in cr

Luna’s POV“Everyone gather around,” Coach Margret announced loudly, his voice carrying the authority that commands immediate attention from the entire team. “I have something crucial to share with you before we take the field today.”All of my teammates move closer, forming a tight circle around Coach Margret. The excitement and nervous energy from earlier has shifted to focused attention as everyone senses that this is going to be significant news.“As you all know, we have just a few hours until the beginning of what could be the most important game of our careers,” Coach Margret begins, looking around at each of us. “But before we step onto the field, I want you to feel safe and confident that you’re playing a fair game.”His mention of safety makes my heart skip a beat. After everything that’s happened with the poisoning incident and all the threats I’ve been receiving, the idea of safety during this game feels more important than ever.“I’m announcing that Maya has been suspende

Luna’s POVThe day of the game is finally here, and I wake up with a weird, unsettling feeling that something bad is going to happen today. The feeling has been building since I opened my eyes this morning, and I can’t shake it no matter how hard I try to think positive thoughts.Last night I had a disturbing dream where I was trapped behind iron barred doors, banging on them desperately trying to get out. In the dream, I could hear people calling my name from the other side of the bars, but no matter how hard I pounded on the doors, they wouldn’t open. I woke up with my heart racing and my hands actually sore, like I had been hitting something in my sleep. The dream felt so real and ominous that I can’t help but see it as some kind of warning about today’s game. What if something goes wrong during the match? What if the person who has been threatening me with those mysterious letters and black roses has planned something terrible for today?“Luna!” Cassie’s excited voice jolts me out

Luna’s POVMy heart is beating so fast I’m afraid Coach Margaret might be able to hear it. He’s looking directly in our direction now, his eyes scanning the storage containers where we’re hiding.Coach Rafe also turns to look in our direction, clearly alert to the possibility that someone has been listening to their private conversation.“I don’t see anyone,” Coach Rafe says after a moment, but he doesn’t sound entirely convinced.“There’s definitely someone here,” Coach Margret insists, taking another step toward our hiding spot. “I can sense another presence.”For a terrifying moment, I think we’re about to be discovered. I can see Coach Margret’s eyes moving across the containers, searching for any sign of movement or hiding people. But then Coach Rafe grabs Coach Margret’s arm. “We can’t afford to be seen together like this. If there is someone here, the last thing we need is for them to see us having this conversation.”Coach Margret hesitates, clearly torn between wanting to

Liam’s POVAs Dominic and I start our practice session on the field, I try to focus on the drills we’re running. But I keep finding myself distracted by Luna sitting on the grass with Cassie nearby. There’s something about the way the afternoon sunlight hits Luna’s hair that makes it look like it’s glowing. She’s taken off her practice jersey because of the heat, and she looks relaxed and happy in a way I haven’t seen her look in weeks.Every time she laughs at something Cassie says, I feel my heart skip a beat. Her smile is so genuine and bright that it makes me forget about everything else that’s been going on. “Liam!” Dominic’s sharp voice cuts through my distraction. “Pay attention!”I snap back to reality just in time to see a hockey ball flying directly toward my head. I try to dodge it, but I’m too slow. The ball hits me in the shoulder and bounces off onto the grass.Dominic run over to me looking frustrated. “Dude, your head is not in the game at all. What’s going on with yo
