“Oh I did. Are you scared, little human?” Wrath, Gideon’s wolf, rasped.

The suffocation, outrage and pain of betrayal was not suppressed but He felt little ease by killing this cunning bastard who was openly lying to him.

Two guards grabbed the sobbing Maya out of the dungeon and Silence prevailed in the room with the Alpha’s heavy breathing before He closed his black pitch eyes, forcing himself to calm.

Then He spun around and advanced towards his wife. Angela hiccuped in terror, She looked at him with trembling lips and a tear-stricken face. He loomed over her like a shadow, his wolf eyes were looking at her intensely and calmly. The history was repeating itself, she strengthened the reason for his hatred towards women tenfold.

“Gideon. I love you. Please don’t hurt me...” She whispered softly as fear gripped her heart firmly. He was looking not less than a monster now. A monster disguised as a beautiful human. And she didn’t know how to prove her innocence. She was afraid He might kill her too.

Gideon growled in pure menace hearing those words which she used to moan on their bed. In a flash, He got over her face and trapped her against the wall.

He cupped her face slowly and looked into those deep baby blue eyes. “Love?” He chuckled lowly like it was a joke for him. “You claimed to love me and kissed another man, Angela! Tell me, was I not enough for you!”

Angela was startled, sensing the emotion behind his words. She shook her head crying as He caressed her busted lip where Victoria slapped her.

“Did you love him so much that you betrayed me?” Angela sobbed but melted into his touch. She never spent much time with him, only a few nights as He was always cold and distant with her but had sex with her for his heir during those nights whenever they were together.

Angela felt maybe He would listen to her once she told him that she was expecting. Though it was not confirmed but Angela knew it when she missed her periods for two months.

“Gideon, I am p…” She opened her mouth to speak but He shushed her instantly.

“Do you think I would kill you, wife?” She opened her eyes and blinked.

“No. I can't kill you. But your punishment wouldn't be easy, Angela. You will regret every second of your life why you were born. You will remember every second who your husband is. And those seconds of your life start now.” Her heart trembled seeing that familiar gleam in his dark gaze. The look which He reserved for his culprits only.

She couldn't decipher his words until his next statement which crumbled her entire being. She was not ready to hear it.

“I, Gideon Woodbead, the Alpha king of the Shadowcrest pack, reject you, Angela Clampitt as my mate, Luna and wife.” The Alpha deadly tone rang in the air as He snarled, looking down at her.

Angela gasped loudly, she felt like a physical blow as she staggered back. She felt like someone plucked her heart out painfully. She let out a cry in agony as sudden hollowness gripped her body after being rejected. She looked into his black pitch eyes glaring at her.

Victoria smirked with satisfaction as she raised her chin and exchanged a glance with her smiling daughter.

“Noo…” Angela cried in pain. Her whole body turned cold as she lingered on the ground in pain. Though she was a human, but the rejection made her body snap into two. The mark on her neck burned like someone had thrown an acid on it.

Gideon was satisfied seeing her condition. He stepped ahead, sat on his knees to her level and spoke.

“This is just the trailer of your new life, dear Wife. Your punishment starts with this rejection. You are now nothing but my culprit. Behind this innocent face lies a desperate whore who doesn't deserve my mercy. You made a grave mistake, Angela but now you will see the real beast of me!” His ice-cold voice was like a dagger piercing her heart again and again.

She lost the last person in the world whom she considered hers. She thought He would give her the love which she never got from anyone since her birth but He was not different from others. He was the worst of them. Did He really never feel anything for her?

Angela held his gaze trying to read him, to feel little empathy but nothing.

“Just kill me?”

She knew how He torments his culprits and Angela had no soul left to bear his hatred. She had gotten enough hatred from everyone in the pack. A lone pathetic tear left her eye as she sobbed. “Just kill me!” she couldn't stop the word from her mouth.

Gideon’s nose flared. She broke his trust but He was not the one to forgive people easily. The flashes of her getting intimate with Jordan blanketed his mind and He yanked her hair back and got on her face. Angela winced but didn't look into his stiff silver eyes.

“I want to kill you right now but that would be an easy death for you, sweetheart. You must see what happens to those who betray Gideon Woodbead!” He seethed, jerking her head painfully. Angela closed her eyes. The terror she felt for this man was greater than her love for him.

“Nobody will come to the dungeon until I say so. And nothing will be served to her until I announce her punishment.” He ordered in a growl and his voice echoed through the dungeon walls making everyone bow.

Gideon stared at her with his hands fisted on his sides. For the first time in his life, He felt something for this girl, but she had to ruin it. She killed his emerging feelings for her. But she was nothing to him now. She must be punished for betraying him.

He turned on his heels and walked away. After him everyone left silently. Angela could only cry at the corner of her fate while caressing her belly.

‘Please Gideon, stop. Don’t leave me! Don’t leave us’!’

“Is that so? Are you truly that desperate, dear?”Both of them snapped their heads toward the source of the cold, challenging voice. Kesha smiled menacingly as she strode toward them. Angela locked eyes with her mother's killer, so consumed by hatred she wanted to rip her apart where she stood. If only she could.Kesha smirked as she stopped before her, briefly glancing at Damon, who silently stepped back. Angela narrowed her eyes at his reaction before facing Kesha again.“Like you're desperate for my inherited powers, aren't you?” Angela smiled. Kesha’s nostrils flared, though her smug smile never faded. “Those powers were mine. My birthright, little girl. My mother belonged to the royal witch family. Your mother...” She scoffed. “She was nothing. She was never the rightful heir.”Her words left Angela speechless. Her birthright? Kesha was from the royal bloodline of Witch? She had never even asked Orion.“Really? Qu

Can you do that for me?” She challenged, locking her gaze with his.Damon narrowed his eyes before giving a slow nod. “Once you’re in, there’s no turning back, Peanut.” His warning carried weight.“Then let’s do this. Show me how much better you are than my mate.” Angela deliberately provoked him.Damon chuckled before grabbing her elbow and pulling her close. Instinctively, Angela twisted her wrist, ready to snap his hand for daring to touch her, but stopped herself at the last second. She swallowed her rage and disgust before they could betray her. Damon had become the most important bait in her plan, and she couldn’t afford to lose him.“I am far better than him in every way, Peanut. You know him, but you don’t know me yet.” His gaze darkened as it dro

Angela opened her eyes and sighed, staring out of the window at the empty space. The snow drifting over an enchanted river in the distance reminded her of their last meeting, the day He left for good. She sighed again, Gideon’s words echoing in her mind. She really had forgotten him after those years. Only faint fragments of him had remained buried inside her, and lately those memories had begun resurfacing one by one. She had always believed she barely knew her husband before their marriage because, after Gideon left for training, she had been sent to a human college for further studies. There she built a new life with new friends, leaving behind the miserable memories of her life among the pack students."Thinking about your husband, huh?"Angela closed her eyes as Damon appeared before her and settled beside her."Do you miss him, Peanut?" he asked, watching her side profile. She remained silent, her gaze fixed outside. She still had no idea where they had brought her in this stran

FLASHBACK: “Have you heard? Gideon is leaving for Alpha training in another pack for five years?” Angela overheard a group of classmates gossiping about the junior Alpha prince’s admission into the Alpha Academy, where future Alpha Kings were trained. As the Alpha of Alphas, Gideon had been summoned even before turning eighteen.“Really? That’s so sad. How will we survive without the heartthrob of our school? He’s the most handsome, intelligent, and sexiest boy here. I hope he’s my mate,” one girl sighed dreamily. Angela had no intention of listening, yet an unfamiliar sadness quietly wrapped around her heart. She should’ve been happy. Gideon wouldn’t be around to bully or torment her anymore. So why didn’t it feel that way? “Yes. I heard Alpha George enrolled him in business studies alongside Alpha training. Looks like we won’t see him for years,” another girl sighed.Ignoring them, Angela focused on class. After the final bell, she stopped at her locker and packed her books.

Gideon looked at Draven with his usual stiff gaze before shifting his eyes to Patrick griffin, whose face was carved with nothing but raw distress. “I never thought I would spent my life with that damn witch, and a black one at that. Had I known who she really was, I would’ve fucking killed her for snatching my mate away!” Patrick gritted his teeth. Rebecca had already told him everything. They could only assume she had murdered Beatrice before possessing her body.Rebecca squeezed his hand. Her father had mourned his wife’s loss for the last two days. The truth had shattered not only their family but the entire pack. While Draven stood frozen in grim silence, Patrick made no effort to hide the hatred burning inside him for the black witch. “Did you never see through your wife? Do you have any idea where she could be? There might still be a chance she’s alive,” Orion said, drawing everyone’s attention. “H..how? Beatrice … is alive?” Patrick asked, hope flickering in his tear-filled

“I loved her, Gideon. I chose her as my mate and was going to marry her, but fate played a twisted game by sending me my fated mate at the worst possible time. I couldn’t abandon one responsibility to fulfil another. My wolf craved his fated mate, your mother, while I was already committed to Penelope. I carried too many burdens to forsake any of them, so I accepted every weight destiny placed upon my shoulders.” Gideon tapped his desk with his forefinger, recalling his father’s words before He slipped unconscious once again. “I couldn’t leave your mother, nor could I abandon my lover. What else could I have done? I owed Penelope and our child a responsibility, so I hid them from the world to protect them, you, and your mother. But after Hillary was killed, everything drowned in darkness. You will never understand the pain of losing a fated mate. I loved Penelope, but my love for Hillary was real too. My wolf loved her more than anything, Gideon.” “You killed Penelope, and I did
