Ruby's POV

Alpha Ralph, or rather, Ralph, took my hand gently, his touch surprisingly tender. His eyes held a reassuring warmth as he spoke softly, "Ruby, you don't need to hide anything from me. I'll provide for you everything you need, and no one will hurt you anymore."

Tears welled up in my eyes at his words, and I blinked them back, my emotions overwhelming me. I quickly looked down, avoiding his gaze, unable to hide the tears that escaped. It had been so long since anyone had shown me genuine kindness and concern.

Ralph didn't let me retreat into myself. He gently cupped my face with his hand, his thumb brushing away the tears that fell. "It's going to be a new start for you, Ruby. You don't have to be afraid anymore."
