Chapter 36

I bolted upright, heart racing, as I realized where I was—the unmistakable, dimly lit room of Lycan Steven.

His scent filled the air. Panic surged through me, urging my body into motion. I couldn't believe I had ended up here again, in the lair of the lycan who haunted both my dreams and my waking moments.

I scrambled to my feet, my hands shaking as I reached for my clothes strewn across the floor. Each piece felt heavy, laden with the night's memories, as I hastily dressed myself.

My mind raced, thoughts jumbled and overlapping.

The fabric of my shirt twisted in my haste, and I paused for a mere second to right it, my breaths coming in short, sharp intakes.

"You're awake," Steven whispered, his face giving me a grim look.

I sighed. "Yes, I'm sorry about last night."

His jaw clenched so hard. "You did not enjoy it?"

"I did. But that was just it. I was consumed by my lust."

He let out a baritone laugh. "Lust?" he spat the word as if it were venom in his system.
