Nysera’s POV

I stood by the window, smiling as the cool night breeze brushed against my face. The moon’s soft light spilled across my skin, and for once both my wolf and I felt content. She was practically bouncing with pride inside me, thrilled that she’d finally shown our mate how strong-willed she could be. I found it a little funny, but it didn’t really matter to me either way.

What mattered was that I finally had a real chance of winning the deal. Once Kaedrin and Vaeric held up their end

Nysera’s POVI groaned as I rolled over in my sleep, only to keep going until I hit the floor with a painful thud.“Fuck!” The curse slipped out loud enough to fully wake me. I sat up on the ground, frowning as I looked around. No sign of Soraya. That was strange. I always woke up to her face first thing in the morning. Not seeing her left me feeling like something was missing.I closed my eyes for a second, wincing at the splitting headache pounding behind them.“Fuck, this hurts,” I muttered, dragging myself slowly to my feet. Besides the headache, I felt like absolute shit. When I caught my reflection in the mirror, I couldn’t help scowling. I looked like I’d crawled out of the deepest pit of hell. My hair was a complete disaster—sticking out in every direction no matter how much I tried to smooth it down. I was wearing a shirt that literally called me a bitch across the front, which was beyond insulting. There was no way I would’ve agreed to put that on unless I was completely out

Nysera’s POVElaris huffed and rolled her eyes as she walked in, dropping onto the bed beside me. “I’ve been standing out there long enough to hear you asking questions about the healer that you have no business asking.”I arched an eyebrow at her. “Why shouldn’t I be asking? Is it so wrong that I want to know more about the woman who helped my kid and took care of me while I was out cold?”“No, it’s not wrong,” she shot back, “but no one likes it when you stick your nose into things that don’t concern you.”I just stared at her. What the hell was her problem? I gave her a weird look, trying to figure out what had her so on edge, while Soraya stood off to the side saying nothing.Elaris sighed, her face softening a little as she turned toward me. “Look… I’m sorry I came off like a bitch just now. But you really need to stop asking around about her. It’s not going to help anyone. There’s a reason no one knows anything about her, and a reason no one bothers to care.”“But I do care,” I

NyseraMy eyes fluttered open slowly. I lay still in bed, frowning a little. For the first time in what felt like forever, I’d had a dream that didn’t involve Vaelor. No tears, no pain. Just… something different. And the strangest part was how real it felt.“Seris, are you okay?” Soraya asked, standing beside the bed with a worried look.I pushed myself up slowly. “I’m fine. I just had the weirdest dream and I don’t know what to make of it.”“A dream?” She frowned. “Was it a nightmare? Did you see them again?”Ever since the nightmares started, she’d been hovering. I tried to hide them, but nothing got past Soraya unless she decided to let it slide.“It wasn’t a nightmare,” I said quickly. “This one was different.”My gaze drifted to the roses sitting on the table. I stared at them, confused.“The Lycan King brought those while you were asleep,” she explained, noticing my expression as she walked over. “They did

Kaedrin’s POVI stood quietly by the doorway to Nysera’s room, watching her sleep with a proud smile on my face. There was no question about it Vaeric and I were the luckiest men alive to have her as our mate. She barely treated us like mates most days, but that didn’t mean I was about to give up. Even if it took years for her to fall in love with us, I’d wait. Time meant almost nothing to Lycans.A sly grin tugged at my lips as the memory of our intimate moment before her fight with Elaris flooded back. Instant heat shot straight down, and I was hard in seconds.Fuck.Just thinking about how perfect she felt in my arms was enough to set me on fire. Walking away after only five minutes had been one of the hardest things I’d ever forced myself to do. Five minutes wasn’t nearly enough. I needed hours. Days. Years. But I knew better than to push. She was still healing, even if she didn’t want to admit it.She kept telling herself she needed

Nysera’s POV “Murderer!” The word tore through the air again and again while they dragged me through the dirt. Hands shoved me, fists struck whatever they could reach, and sharp objects scraped across my skin. Shame and pain hit at the same time, so heavy I could barely breathe. Tears poured down my face without stopping. “I didn’t kill him,” I kept saying, voice cracking. “Please, just listen..I didn’t kill him.” No one cared. They had already decided I was guilty, and every word I spoke only made them angrier. How could they think I would ever hurt the man who had treated me like his own daughter when I had no one else? Through the noise and the humiliation I caught sight of Vaelor and Sylvara standing off to the side. They were kissing, laughing like the whole scene was entertainment. My teeth clenched so hard my jaw ached. This was their doing. Everything—every accusation, every threat against me and the babies still growing inside me—came from them. They had set me up, and th

Nysera’s POV“Are you sure you’re okay, Seris?” Cassian watched me with open suspicion. I hadn’t been myself since Kaedrin and Vaeric left. My mind kept drifting back to how good it felt when they both kissed me. Nothing with Vaelor had ever felt like that. The whole thing was different, and just thinking about it made me restless. How could two people stir that much feeling in me at once?“Seris Vale?” Cassian’s voice pulled me back.“I’m fine,” I said, forcing a tight smile.“Liar,” he muttered under his breath. I heard it anyway. How was I supposed to explain that Kaedrin and Vaeric were the reason I was like this? I couldn’t tell him the things they’d done to me.We stood just outside the sparring grounds. Elaris was already warming up inside. Guards and servants filled the seats, cheering loudly for her, but none of it seemed to reach her. She looked like she’d rather be anywhere else.“Listen,” Cassian said, reclaiming my attention. “I don’t know what’s got you so twisted up, bu
