The Binder reveals

last update Huling Na-update: 2025-07-29 05:00:30

There was something different about the air this morning.

It didn't feel heavy with magic or dread like it did before. No fire, no blood. Just… stillness.

But somehow, that felt worse, because I knew peace never stuck around for long, especially not for someone like me.

---

“I need some fresh air,” I said to Aria as we stood on the upper balcony.

She smiled softly and slipped her arm around mine. “Let’s take a walk then, just the two of us.”

Moments like this were rare. Quiet, peaceful, real. Just like my previous life where nothing bothered me apart from healing the wounded.

We wandered past the training fields and into the thick trees beyond the mountains. Birds chirped lazily, and sunlight filtered through the leaves.

Then, out of nowhere… The shadows shifted.

Aria came to a halt. “They’re here,” she observed.

“Who?” I asked, retracing my steps.

“The other Vessels, please be careful.”

They appeared without making a sound.

The second Vessel— the one who threatened me through the flames and in my dreams, and just two days ago, I realized she’s the Breaker. She stood tall and fierce, her silver eyes sharp like knives. She looked a bit like me, but tougher. More hardened.

Next to her was another girl.

Softer. Smaller. There was a quiet energy about her, pulling inward like gravity.

And just then, it dawned on me that she’s the third vessel. She’s the one Aria saw the glimpse of her shadow from the ancient mirror, and I recognized her from my vision,

She's the “Binder” and her name is Elira. In her eyes held the weight of countless secrets.

Elira spoke first.

“You need to understand, May… we weren’t meant to meet like this. But time’s unraveling faster than we thought.”

I stepped forward. “Why are you two here?”

She glanced at the Breaker, who simply crossed her arms and stayed silent.

Then Elira turned back to me. “I have something to tell you. Something Nyra never wanted you to know.”

My chest tightened. “What is it?”

“The war within vessels has already begun,” she said. “And it ends with you killing her.”

I blinked. “Who?”

She nodded toward the second Vessel. “The Breaker.”

Elira continued, her voice low and steady. “Nyra doesn’t want balance. She wants chaos. She’s been feeding her shadows with darkness for months, pushing her to hate you… to believe you took what should’ve been hers.”

I glanced at the 2nd vessel. She still didn’t say a word, but her expression cracked a bit with dissatisfaction.

“She’s not evil,” Elira said. “Just lost. Broken.”

“Elira, stop,” the breaker shot back coldly. “Who made you the spokesperson, Hush it! You talk too much. She doesn’t need to know anything.”

But Elira pressed on.

“She needs to understand what I’ve seen. What I was created for.”

She stepped closer to me.

“There’s a prophecy buried in the Mirror texts. It says the Moon’s light will be tested, not only by enemies… but by reflections. The Bearer must face her shadow.”

I swallowed. “She, the Breaker, my reflection?”

She nodded. “You two will fight. And when you both do, only one of you will survive.”

A heavy silence hung in the air, like thunder rumbling in my bones.

“Though it will be tough but when she dies,” Elira finished, “Nyra’s power will crack.”

Suddenly, black smoke rose from the ground, and the temperature dropped.

And Nyra stepped through the shadows, her smile wicked and cruel.

“You disobedient little witch,” she spat at Elira. “You forget who commands you.”

Elira didn’t flinch. “Not anymore.”

“You think this Bearer will save you?” Nyra hissed. “She can’t even save herself, you forget I could still send you back through the pieces of the mirror I have?”

“Then we’ll see,” Elira whispered, slipping something off her wrist — a small glowing band — and placing it in my palm.

“She’s mine now,” I said, locking eyes with Nyra.

Nyra snarled. “Have it in mind that you’ll regret this May.” And immediately, she vanished.

But the chill she left behind? It lingered.

–––

Later that night, Aria and I returned to the temple, the bracelet snug around my wrist.

It pulsed with Elira’s energy — soft, strange, and oddly comforting.

She was now my shadowed informant. Bound by choice and linked to me through the band. With a whisper of her name, I could reach her from anywhere.

I could control her shadows and make her mine.  And now… I had eyes in the dark.

***

As I made my way back to the Alpha wing, I heard it.

A low laugh, soft footsteps. It was Melina’s voice.

I rounded the corner and found her — standing in Laziel’s doorway, wearing one of his shirts and looking like she owned the whole place.

“Nice of you to wear your confidence out loud,” I said, crossing my arms akimbo

She turned with a smirk. “My presence here shouldn’t bother you May, He invited me.”

Laziel appeared behind her, shirtless and surprised.

“May—” he startled.

I cut him off with a raised eyebrow. “You know what? I don’t care what you two are up to. Just keep it down, okay? Some of us are trying to deal with world-ending chaos here.”

“And some of us are just trying to survive. You have told me to avoid you, and I’m doing just as you instructed.”She replied with a chuckle.

“What’s funny? Hopefully, you don’t get to betray him too” I uttered with a mean stare. I didn’t crack a smile.

“Betray me, what does that even mean?” Leziel asked, and he seemed lost.

“Ask your mistress” I sneered, and swaying my hips I walked away.

I don’t know how to cope with a betraying friend. Even though I don’t hate Melina but I wanted distance from her, and seeing her rigmarole around the Alpha wing with Laziel irks me.

She was chaos personified.

And somehow… Laziel seemed to be into that. Good luck to him.

---

That night, I rolled and paced through my room, and sleep was nowhere to be found. The bracelet was humming softly.

So, I got up and headed to the Mirror chamber.

The shards from the broken Mirror, the ones Aria retrieved after Nyra was captured by Aether, were still locked away in glass cases—too dangerous to destroy, too sacred to just leave be.

But as soon as I opened the case, one of them started to bleed.

Silver blood. Thick and glowing. Then, I heard a whisper behind me:

“It’s begun.”

I turned around, and there was no one there except for the reflection in my dressing mirror.

And it wasn’t my reflection.

It was the 2nd vessel. Not the binder but the breaker herself, my look-alike formed with destruction, and there she stood smiling with fangs.

Splendid Benny

What do you think about the Breaker, Binder and Bearer story? Why has the breaker come to visit May? Did she come for a fight? Watch out for what’s next and don’t forget to leave a comment and rate my book. Thank you!💙

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   Crises Arises

I couldn't get any air. The 2nd vessel’s death was meant to bring peace, make Nyra weaker, and shut the door to the Void. Instead, it had opened something else inside me. I stumbled through the ruins of the courtyard. The whole place darkened, the silver light from my palms flickering, fading. "Elira," I said, choking, "something's not right." A wave of darkness spread through my body. My bones hurt. My vision blurred. "Elira!" I yelled. In a flash, she was next to me, holding my shoulders. “It's the bond, it’s affecting me too,” she said, her voice shaking. “Nyra is dying... but part of her chose you.”"What does that mean?" I asked. Elira's hand was hovering over my chest. Her eyes got bigger. "She isn't just tied to you, she’s inside you, May." My veins lit up, but not silver; they were violet. I dropped to my knees. The sky broke apart like glass. Nyra's father stood on the far edge of the stone altar with his arms crossed, as if he were watching a show he had been waiting f

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   The prophesy surfaces, the battle of Vessels

Her fangs sparkled in the moonlight, and her eyes shone brightly, definitely not the girl I had once experienced, the girl who was said to be my reflection. She was more than just a vessel now. She was… possessed.Immediately the moon emerged above us, shining brightly, the brightest I have ever seen. The dark night minutes ago unexpectedly turned glowy like sunrise. And then I realized this was exactly how the prophecy was displayed in a trance a few weeks back. “You shouldn't have shown your face here,” I said, summoning the power of the moonlight into my palms. “Because I’m not scared of you.”The 2nd vessel tilted her head, a twisted smile creeping onto her lips. “I’m not here to scare you, May. I’m here to end you.”Before she could make a move, I tapped on the bracelet on my wrist and whispered, “Elira… I need you here now.”I felt the gentle gush of silver wind, swirling around me. Then she appeared—Elira, the third Vessel, the Binder. Her presence was soothing and the ai

The hand over my mouth felt warm. And that voice? Sweet, familiar. But off. “Shhh…” it whispered, pulling me deeper into the shadows. “You weren’t supposed to find her yet, you were warned about looking too closely and now you’ll have to face the consequences.”I struggled against it, with my human strength, while my eyes were locked on Melina. She was tied up, crying, and too weak to scream again. I pondered how many hours she had been tortured and why she was chosen to be in this position. I contemplated what would have happened to her if I hadn’t shown up.Just as my feet dragged across the floor, struggling with the hand over my mouth and neck, I tried to use my wolf strength but immediately the door flew open behind us. “MAY!” Aether’s voice cut through the air, sharp and furious, and instantly the hand released me. The figure dissolved into smoke.By the time Aether got to me, I was on the ground, breathless and trembling. He pulled me up, his eyes wild. “What happened?”I p

I ran, not because I was scared, but because I was running from the truth. What I saw down that corridor… that thing that looked like Melina — it wasn’t the girl I knew. At least, I hoped it wasn’t.The next morning, I found Laziel in the observatory all by himself. He wasn’t training or meditating. He was just there seated and staring into space. He seemed bland or confused so I walked up to him. “Elira said they’re called Hollowed,” I said quietly. He looked up at me. There was something in his eyes I hadn’t seen before.Guilt!“I talked to her last night,” he said.“Who?” I asked, pretending like I didn’t know.“Melina” he replied, “We didn’t talk much, She said a few things, one of which was that you are not who you pretended to be.”“So what am I, and what exactly am I pretending to be?”“Look, May I really don’t know,” he explained. “All I did was just let her say all she had in mind, but what she was talking about, I’m not certain about it, and I…”“I heard her,” I said, inte

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   The hallowed among us

The thought of the reflection I saw kept me up all night, It was my face staring back at me. But my eyes? The eyes I saw? They weren’t mine.Apart from that, the lady behind me, who looked like Aria but was holding a knife, felt like a ghost. At least, not real in the way I understood it.“Then who is she?” I murmured to myself.–––I found Aria in the garden at dawn, her bare feet in the dew, humming a song that took me back to my childhood. When she saw me coming, she turned. “Are you okay? You look… different.”I paused for a moment. I wanted to shout, “Are you even real?”Instead, I asked, “Do you remember the first night we met?”Her smile wavered. “You were severely wounded and were in bed all day, the very day Aether brought you to Northwoods, you looked pitiful and were ready to curse the moon.”I blinked in surprise. She remembered, she’s real I mumbledI managed a weak smile. “Just checking to see if you’re still the Aria that I know.”She tilted her head, curiosity in her e

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   Image with her face, intimate with my mate

I stood frozen in the doorway of the archive room. It was just a usual day where I couldn’t sleep, and the pull from the band led me here. And the sight I behold is one I have never seen before. The image that had been there just seconds ago? The one whose face kept changing—from Nyra to Aria, to Gladys and back again? Gone! Just like a dream that fades away as soon as you wake up.I sank to the floor, my heart racing. Was I losing it? Was the bond flaring up again? Was Nyra messing with my head?No matter how I tried to twist it around in my mind, no matter how I tried to understand it. One cold, sharp truth settled in:“Someone I trust is lying to me.”–––I’m not sure how long I stayed there before I heard a familiar voice through the silence.“May!”I looked up. Aether was standing in the doorway, his shirt untucked and worry etched on his face. “I felt something… off. Are you hurt?”I didn’t answer right away. Instead, I let him come closer. He knelt beside me, his right hand
