Blood of inestimable Value

last update Last Updated: 2026-01-03 08:07:36

My brother Laziel was barely hanging on, my Luna was trapped somewhere I couldn’t reach, and my wolf was restless, clawing at my chest like it wanted to burst out and run.

“Please, do something,” I urged Aria persistently, my tone sharper than I intended. I was beyond restless.

Aria closed her tired eyes and took a deep breath. “You need to be quiet, Aether. What I’m about to call for… it’ll shake the ground.”

She spread a dark cloth on the floor of her chamber and drew strange symbols with white chalk. They glowed faintly as she whispered in a language I didn’t understand. She lit three black candles, added herbs to a clay bowl, and sprinkled silver powder around the edges. Her voice grew louder, and the chant almost sucked the air out of the room.

Then, the flames bent backward. A shadow crept from the corner of the chamber and took shape—a tall woman with silver eyes glowing like moonlight. Her presence weighed heavily on my chest, like a mountain pressing down.

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   My Elira

MAYBEL’S POVMy chest heaved as the witches’ chants echoed through the dark chamber. As they held enchantress Mara, binding her with magic and dragging her away. The dark triangular formation around us pulsed like a living creature, rings of black smoke tightening every second, ready to crush Elira and me alive. Then the small container Mara stylishly threw at me rolled to my feet. The faint glow of the blood shimmered inside. Aether… My heart clenched. I know I have made you uneasy, thank you once again. I murmured like he was here seeing me. I believed he was.Elira’s voice was weak. “That’s the blood… from your predecessor, the first vessel.”I nodded. “Our last hope.”We managed to kneel together, despite the pull of the formation, our hands shaking. I uncorked the bottle and poured the blood over my divine sword. The liquid spread across the blade, glowing bright crimson and silver at once. I heard my sword make a sound, I know I did, and then the sword began to vibrate like it w

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   Dark Formation

Staring at us furiously, they started an incantation. Immediately, the magic hit us and held us together like a cage. One moment, Elira and I glided through the halls like shadows; the next, our feet felt glued to the ground. Cold triangle-shaped light wrapped around us—definitely not the kind of chains you could slice through with a sword. This was ancient witchcraft— words, circles, and slow, deliberate hands that closed around your throat. My sword felt utterly useless. My legs were heavy, as if they belonged to someone else.“Elira,” I whispered, a mix of panic and an unsettling panic stirring over me.She was breathing too quickly, her lips pale. “It’s a binding— an old Nightbound formation,” she said, her voice low. “Two senior witches are holding it. We can’t just slash our way out.”We gave it a shot anyway. I swung my sword until my arms ached. Sparks flew when my blade hit the runes, but they didn’t cut through. I managed to hit one witch’s arm— blood splattered, and she st

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   Killed by my sword, Nyra

MAYBEL’S POVSomething inside me felt really off. My chest was burning with a rage so intense it scared me. It was that same ugly anger I had when Ceryn and her rogues kidnapped me, but this time, it was even worse. The first thing I did was kill my father’s Nightbound mate. I didn’t hesitate at all, I’ve had enough of her nonsense. Normally I wouldn’t kill her but since I have this quest to kill any rival would go down by my hands. Even when she hit the ground, I still felt empty. Something inside me craved more— needed more. I needed to spill bloodI followed Aether back onto the battlefield, and it was like I transformed into a different person. I fought like a beast. Every assassin that crossed my path fell to my sword, blood splattering across my face and hands. I wiped it off with my sleeve and continued fighting. My sword was moving so fast I could barely control it; at one point, I almost stabbed one of my own wolves. That’s when Aria rushed toward me, her eyes blazing. “Maybe

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   Betrayal Miles

AETHER’S POVWhen the messenger rode in, and informed me that the Nightbounds were already in our territory my stomach dropped. Our entire plan has been compromised. The Nightbounds were lying in wait on the road. Someone within our own walls had given them everything— our initials, our plans, our information, all of it.Betrayal tastes like a bitter herb, more like poison and it’s more painful if it’s from people you trust. There was no time to dwell on it. The deed has been done, we needed to act fast before they massacred my warriors. I sent Elira to BlueCrest to go help out immediately knowing they were weak— Castillo couldn’t do it alone and Nelson was still healing from the previous injuries. Andrew's men were tough, but they needed a heads-up, so I instructed him through the Alpha’s link to guide his border. Our plans have been leaked and the Nightbounds might probably come for them too. Elira moves fast and strikes like lightning. If she hadn’t been aware, or warned us rep

  • Rejected by my Alpha, the Moon goddess chose me.   Side by side (father and daughter)

“What are you doing here?” I asked again, my voice sharp but my lips were shaking a bit. I wanted to hear it from his own mouth that he wants to kill me just as he was a cohort that orchestrated my mother’s death.Even though I wanted the benefit of the doubt, deep down, I already knew the answer. My father had always chosen the Nightbounds over me, over anything else. He was ready to kill and shed blood to be in their good book. So why should today be any different? He wasn’t here for me, he was here to help Nyra, to fight alongside her and finish what he’d failed to do when I was a child. Kill me!Nyra stepped closer, a wicked grin spreading across her face, her laughter dark and cruel. “Are you dumb or are you pretending to be slow? Why else would he be here bitch! He’s here to help me, of course. Did you really think otherwise?” Her magic twisted around her like a dark cloak. “How does it feel, Maybel? Knowing your father has betrayed you from the moment you were born… right up u
